Doctor-patient and health team communication in the Visegrad countries – narrative review
45-56Views:366The study aimed to explore and compare preferences for doctor-patient communication and communication within healthcare teams in the Visegrad countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary) through a general literature review. While each of these countries has independent studies on these topics, a comparative analysis using a single validated questionnaire was conducted by Bányai et al. (2021). Their research showed that factors like gender, age, education, and poor health status influence how patients perceive the quality of communication with doctors in all four countries. The study also found that communication within healthcare teams faces challenges due to personal, referral, and system-related barriers. Improving communication skills is crucial in preventing burnout and depersonalization among healthcare workers, and a well-designed communication training process can foster positive attitudes, particularly among specialist nurses. Independent researches from the four countries shows that patients value clear, accurate information about their illness, treatment options, and the effectiveness of care. Patient satisfaction was higher when they received good treatment along with straightforward information about their condition and clear explanations for their relatives. However, the communication skills of healthcare staff were seen as a weakness, and such skills were often not part of their training. To create a more patient-centered healthcare system, effective human resources programs need to be developed, and further research in health communication is necessary. The study suggests using the PPOS (Patient-Practitioner Orientation Scale) questionnaire to assess and compare healthcare professionals' attitudes towards communication across different levels of healthcare in these countries.

Modern communication strategies and business relationship development in higher education: experiences of corporate partners of the University of Debrecen
24-32Views:77The quality of communication channels in the B2B sector plays a fundamental role in determining the success of collaborations. With the rapid advancement of digitalization, it has become inevitable for higher education institutions to rethink and modernize their communication practices with business partners. The aim of our research was to map the currently used communication tools and processes, with a particular focus on how well they meet the expectations of today’s business environment and how they could be improved in the future.
Through semi-structured interviews conducted with the corporate partners of the University of Debrecen, we gained deeper insight into how inter-institutional communication works in practice, what challenges arise, and what development needs are identified by the stakeholders involved. The findings highlighted that, although existing tools are often functional, there is a clear demand for a consciously designed, innovative, and flexible communication system.
Our research is future-oriented: our goal is to formulate development proposals that support higher education institutions in building more dynamic, technologically supported, yet human-centered communication with their partners. These modern communication models could not only enhance institutional competitiveness but also provide students with more valuable and authentic networks for engaging with the business sector.

The interconnection of gender and communication: communication in the workplace The differences, in other words who is better?

The article reveals the possible causes of this difference in skills. Gender can define the communication style. We can also observe a difference in speech. There is an ever increasing demand for workers with excellent communication skills in the world of work. Such workplaces prefer to employ women rather than men. The better skills of women manifest themselves not only in mother tongue skills, but also in the acquisition of foreign languages. The author advises boys to communicate more emphatically and girls to be more assertive.

Communication Strategy Use in English Conversational Discourse

They are learning the language for long years, and it may happen that theoretically they are familiar with all the grammar intricacies, but practically they are not able to ask for even a glass of water in real situations. The question is whether the use of communication strategies could help to cope with the difficulties by their direct teaching. A few years ago I conducted a research to find out what kind of interactive strategies the learners are using and to provide a full list of them. The publications at that time did not deal with strategies specifically in the teaching material. I used my own list. The latest books, however, put a stress on useful phrases. So the question is whether the fact that they draw attention to strategies in separate sections, will bring significant changes in the learners’ communication.

Market Trends and Consumer Motivations for Plant-Based Milk Alternatives in the European Union and Hungary

This study aims to present current consumer trends and motivations, as well as to explore the economic significance of plant-based milk alternatives in the European Union and Hungary. The research is based on secondary market data analysis and two focus group studies, which provided insights into consumer attitudes and perceptions related to advertising activities. The analysis covers revenue data from the largest markets, the diversity of consumption drivers, and the visual and messaging elements found in communication strategies. The findings may contribute to defining target group–oriented marketing communication and identifying opportunities for market development.

The Development of Business in Various Regions with the Use of Marketing Tools

Guesthouse catering facility as an experience generator in electronic communication of hungarian rural tourism supply

The catering facilities of rural tourism cannot be considered as a part of the experience basis from the point of view of supply due to the legislative framework i.e. the limited availability of catering services. At the same time, demand considers as an essential supply element the countryside flavours, the tasting of traditional gastronomy in terms of both the endowment and the availability and from the professional point of view, the appearance of a supply element in rural tourism in Hungary is unquestionable. The exploratory research covers the entire range of qualified accommodation based on the FATOSZ (Hungarian National Association of Rural and Agrotourism) electronic communication database, analyses the experience promises based on the aspects developed according to the topic, identifying their experience basis or experience generator characteristics, looking for the relationship between quality and the gastronomic experiences.

Investigation of consumer behavior in social media in the handball

It has opened doors that were unprecedented. It can also be profitable for sports companies if they can deliver effective marketing communications to their existing and potential customers. To be effective in this environment, it is important to analyse consumer behaviour to identify the real needs of users and to meet those needs. We used an online questionnaire to assess the consumer needs of our respondents and the social media market from a marketing perspective. We conducted a handball specific research, excluding individuals who do not follow handball at any level from the study sample. We also looked at age differences, and device usage. Given our results, it can be stated that thorough market research is important for effective marketing communication by a handball club on different social media platforms.

Capacity to handle complexity – The importance of contextual awareness in healthcare communication in English as a lingua franca
131-141Views:238Hungarian healthcare providers – as most of their colleagues around the world – engage in interaction with foreign patients, whom they do not share a mother tongue with, in English as a lingua franca (ELF) most of the time. These communicative situations pose great challenges to healthcare providers, as they have to be capable of adjusting their language use to their patients’ cognitive, linguistic and communicative-pragmatic schemata which often differ from their own. In order to develop such a capacity, ESP classes must focus on improving health science students’ awareness in exploring various ELF contexts which form ground for making informed decisions on the use of terminology. The present research aims at showing the complex dynamic nature of these ELF contexts based on empirical data collected via interviews with Hungarian healthcare providers who have extended experience in working with patients in international environments. The results can inform the everyday practice of ESP teachers in the field of the health sciences.

Is loyalty measurable? The importance and effective assessment of customer satisfaction
45-57Views:113Customer satisfaction is one of the key factors of corporate competitiveness and long-term business success in the 21st century. The rapid advancement of digitalization and the increasing expectations of consumers further emphasize the need to measure and improve satisfaction. The aim of this research is to examine which factors influence customer satisfaction in the case of a specific company, and how discrepancies between service quality and customer expectations can be identified. The study focuses on the gap between perceived service quality and customer perception, for which the GAP model and the SERVQUAL scale provided the theoretical and methodological framework. The research is based on both secondary and primary data collection; the primary research was conducted using a questionnaire, measuring customer perceptions across five key dimensions: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangible elements. The results indicate that the company has a fundamentally strong customer satisfaction base, particularly in terms of employee expertise and the quality of communication. However, areas for improvement were identified regarding the accuracy of information provision and customer communication, which are also relevant from the perspective of service gaps. The study highlights that properly applied measurement models not only enable the assessment of satisfaction levels but also serve as effective tools for the targeted improvement of service quality.

ANALYSIS THE KNOWLEDGE OF DESTINATIONS IN ITS DIVIDING CONTEXT

The direct motives are (1) the available financial development funds, (2) the expansion of tourism supra- and infrastructure, (3) the evolvement of destination image, however induced factors can be (1) the involvement of ancillary services or (2) using single communication. Main concern of the tourism supply is to provide sufficient information to the potential travellers, although the question arises how demand is able to follow the iterative changing in determinations. The fact that a narrower area is periodically associated with a different tourism development area and thus has different communication generates a degree of uncertainty in the tourists’ travel decision. Current article introduces a section of a research project for the assessment of the awareness of current tourism development areas by tourists. After the clarification of concepts paper details the results of pilot testing which makes foundation for a large-sample market research. Findings are instructive not just in terms of measurement correction, but for further considerations.

Results of a participatory action research in Mezőcsát, in the Northern part of Hungary

This is a good method for rethinking the local and the wider interests and relationships in a changing social and economic environment. As a result there could be a practical solution at the end. This research can generate new interaction between local people, thus ensuring better communication and more successful cooperation. After introducing the tools of participatory action research this paper presents the first steps and results of a participatory action research which has started in Mezőcsát in the Northern part of Hungary. The aim of the research is to find real solutions to real problems (eg. unemployment) defined by inhabitants. Outcomes of this research are a stronger community in Mezőcsát and mapping a possible enterprise built on local resources.

Discussion forum (course) – a practical approach to communicative competence development
142-147Views:183The paper describes and discusses the observations and findings of three years of teaching a unique English language course – “Discussion Forum” within the study programme Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication at the Faculty of Applied Languages, at the University of Economics in Bratislava. It presents the original format as it was introduced in 2010 when the study programme was accredited and its development and alterations based on the collected experience and evidence of both students and teacher. Three debate formats, speech duel, round table and team debate, are described and their shortcomings and merits are evaluated. Finally, the findings and conclusions arrived at since the first implementation, are discussed.

Evaluation of the Technical Management Bsc by labor market and its development possibilities at the College of Szolnok
153-163Views:192The College of Szolnok conducted a qualitative research under the framework of SROP 4.1.1.C –12/1/KONV-2012-2004 to support the strategic development of Technical Management BA program. Using qualitative research methods we point out that the closer cooperation with companies will be crucial in the future: it is going to allow faster response to market demand, better knowledge transfer of newest skills, and higher acceptance of Technical Management BA program and College of Szolnok. Results show that the current training level in College of Szolnok requires further development to enhance the marketability of graduates, in which the transfer of the related areas is also an important issue. Addition to professional basic knowledge strong requirements are also language and communication skills in high-level.

Netnographic study of the conscious internet appearance of hungarian and regional public transport companies
1-12Views:378There has been intense competition between companies in recent years to hire and retain employees. During the coronavirus epidemic, this competition intensified. In response to the changes in the labour market, this challenge on the part of employers requires new methods, and employer branding has increasingly come to the fore. With the reorganization of the communication channels, online appearance came to the fore, including the use of social networking sites for employers and employees. The subject of my study is the employer branding of companies interested in the public transport on the Internet, primarily on social media sites, including the popular Instagram site. The purpose of the study is to present the importance of employer branding in the online space, the topics that can be displayed on social media sites and the given reactions, and the effectiveness and impact of online appearance. In my research, I used the method of netnography to reveal the differences and similarities in the appearance of social enterprises, the subjects of my investigation were international and domestic transport companies. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that social enterprises are using social networking sites more and more widely and with increasing intensity in many topics, including employer branding, but effectiveness can be increased with a targeted appearance, since social topics and the display of content related to responsibility elicit measurable reactions. They also discovered that social media is a suitable interface for presenting company activities and creating an identity as a tool.

Tourism Competencies Development – Contradictious Perceptions of Stakeholders
126-141Views:224Tourism and hospitality sector has an important role in the national economy as it has high labour intensity, generates foreign currency income and improves the local economy by multiplier effect. Tourism labour market employs a wide range of employees from non-qualified to highqualified people. Tourism tertiary educators in Hungary continue their operation by national-level legislation, and accreditation and students who complete tourism courses (should) be capable of professional occupation. The post-Bologna system offered more opportunities in tourism and hospitality education; two distinguished courses were available on the educational market to educate hospitality or tourism experts. After 2006, by launching Bologna system, institutions are allowed to commence just one, Tourism and Catering bachelor programme. A questionnairebased survey was conducted among graduating bachelor students with tourism and catering major, tutors teaching tourism and catering students and actors of tourism market, who going to be the employers of tourism graduates. The main aim of the research was to explore the personal or organizational expectations of stakeholders for professional competence development as a result of tourism and catering bachelor-level education. The bust majority of students stated that their primary aim is to gain professional competencies in tourism and hospitality to be able to fulfil managerial positions or to continue their studies on master-level. Although generic competences as communication skills in foreign languages, social sensitivity, problem solving or creativity have salient influence on job performance, students did not believe that they would be
essential. However, these factors were thought to be the most crucial by tutors and tourism service providers despite the fact that generic skill development is not in focus in tourism and catering bachelor-level education in Hungary. Not just the educational institutions but tourism companies providing work placement for students were considered to be an appropriate basis for competencies development that raised the question of monitoring and assessment. The findings can be profitable for all stakeholder group or policy decision makers in bachelor-level curriculum development. -
The improvement of speaking skills at pilot courses at the College of Szolnok in the light of the findings of our labour market survey

On the basis of the research findings the subjects taught at the College have been developed in a practiceoriented direction. In our lecture we elaborate on the possibilities of improving the communicative competence at our pilot courses. We give a survey of the phases of the improvement of speaking skills, the most important condition of the communication process. We present the task types characterising the various phases of the development process, the strategies of teaching vocabulary using some German examples taken from some textbook series (Alltag, Beruf & Co.) used at the pilot courses.

It is im-portant to find out the reasons why it is losing its relevance and why the households are not making better use of the related government grants. In my present article I discuss the ac-quaintance of Voluntary Mutual Funds Account, with its advantages and disadvantages. Also the functions of households in the Budget, or in other words, what unexploited opportu-nities are there, that are worth utilizing in every household with the appropriate financial knowledge. I examine the answer to the question to how the households could be influenced, or influenced better to take advantage of several government grants, or to do that more effi-ciently. In the interest of this it is necessary to develop people’s financial culture on the ap-propriate level. Government regulations are not enough. It cannot reach its aim properly, if there are problems with the flow of information in the course of coding or decoding, prevent-ing the appropriate communication.

Branding Hungary as a Health Tourism Destination: Asynchrony Problems

independent from the changing political power structure. There are certain basic principles to adhere to in branding a tourism destination be it settlement, regional or country level. One of the keys to succesful branding is synchronising marketing efforts on different levels. Asynchronous communication and strategies lead to confusion in image perception, hence the weakening of the brand. The present paper aims to examine some of the asynchronies in the branding of Hungary as a health tourism destination. -
Foreign language competencies and the job market: Employers' expectations and the (self-)assessment of language teaching and learning by students of the College of Szolnok

carried out among employers with regards to their foreign language expectations for graduates with surveys done among students of the College of Szolnok. In these surveys students evaluated their own foreign language knowledge as well as the standard of language teaching at the college and gave an insight into their experiences as far as language learning and their use of foreign languages are concerned.
