    This critical review examines the role of advanced technologies in reshaping slavery-like working conditions in the hospitality industry. While automation and intelligent systems can improve efficiency and ease workloads, they also raise concerns about worker displacement, wage disparities, and job insecurity. The discussion revolves around whether technological advancements can improve working conditions or deepen existing inequalities by favouring highly skilled workers while marginalising others. The existing literature does not provide a unified framework that guarantees ethical employment practices by combining technology with labour force policies. The study introduces the Tech-Driven Fair and Decent Work Agenda (TDFDWA) as an approach towards implementing the Fair and Decent Work Agenda (FDWA), sustainable development goals (SDG 8) and International Labour Organization (ILO), aiming to integrate advanced technologies in implementing ethical labour governance. This agenda harnesses advanced technologies for promoting economic growth and ethical employment to ensure labour force stability in the age of the digitalised hospitality industry.

    Nowadays the defence industry and the development of new technologies have been intertwined. Recently weapons and weapon systems have been tested that, little before, only science-fiction fans could believe to be possible and it was but a few professional insiders, mainly developers, who were encouraged to have anything like this on their design desks. Today the development of the defense industry is synonymous with that of new technologies from which societies benefit in at least two ways: (1) they improve the social and national safety and security, and (2) provide new tools for everyday use. The article aims to introduce readers to some features of the evolving change being presently experienced in modern warfare through some examples of the up-to-date weapons, weapon systems and technologies, and let them have a glance also at their possible forms of use in the near future.

    Fertilizers, pesticides, soil disinfectants and other agrochemicals enormously have increased the agricultural productivity recently. Beside the well-accepted positive yield-effects, however, the structural soil-degradation, acidification, decrease of soil life and soil health is also known. Alternative technologies are urgently needed to develop for the sustainable agri-, horti-, viti- and silvicultural productions. The beneficial microorganisms, used as biofertilizers, biopesticides and/or soil-vitality products can reduce those disorders; therefore their use is increasing simultaneously. Bioeffector (BE) products, containing vital strains of the beneficial microorganisms might improve the qualitative and quantitative properties of the plants. The effects of BE1 - Trichoderma harzianum T-22; BE2 - Pseudomonas sp.; BE3 - Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Rhizovital 42 F1 were tested in large-pot experiment of using tomato (var. Mobil) in 4 replicates. The BE-s were applied according to the instructions of the producers, in 1 step with the sewing. Before the emergence of the tomato seedlings the BE products was enhancing primarily the growth of the weeds, which is known to develop much faster, than the host. Among the tested bioeffectors, the BE 3, known to enhance P-uptake proved to be the most efficient, both as single and as combined inoculums. Result was comparable with the fertilizer (triple-superphosphate) addition. Study has shown, that the application of BE products might be accompanied more seriously with the used agricultural technology and the physiological properties of the living biofertilizer strains. A second inoculation after the seed emergence and/or the plantation could be highly suggested mainly with BE 3, which might mobilize the hardly available phosphorous in the soil.

    One of today’s most important social and economic phenomena is the fourth industrial revolution, the effect of which is that digitalization can significantly transform business processes. The corporate controlling area cannot avoid transformation either, its methods and tools will change. Just as controlling itself, its changes can also differ between sectors, especially in the extremely diverse service sector. The aim of the research is to examine, on a domestic sample, whether there are differences in this respect between companies with a main commercial activity and the rest of the service sector. The data of the questionnaire research conducted with 46 controllers and managers were evaluated by means of cross-tabulations, averages and statistical tests. There are no differences in the digital development of the key performance indicators that form the basis of controller work, in the use of ERP systems, automation solutions and language algorithms. In the commercial group of the sample, the use of business intelligence tools providing advanced planning and analysis options is significantly more common. The two groups of the sample do not differ in terms of the factors encouraging the digitalization of the controlling area, but the companies with a commercial main activity differ in terms of the importance of the factors hindering the process: they are more averse to new technologies, more afraid of their usual positions, but perceive the financial aspects of the development to be less important.

    The proper management of communal sewage sludge is a priority aim in today’s environmental protection. Among the possible technologies one environmentally sustainable sludge treatment technology can be the vermicomposting of communal sewage sludge. Before the successful operational level vermicomposting is absolutely necessary to investigate the process of vermicomposting in laboratory controlled conditions. In our studies vermicomposting of communal sewage sludge was carried out by comparing two earthworm populations in laboratory. During 6-week experimental period the temperature (with soil thermometer) and the redox potential (with ORP portable device) were measured every other day. The weekly, measured, basis parameters were the compost visual appearance, color and smell, pH (H2O), dry matter content, organic matter content, EC (conductivity), from which the total salt content can be calculated, total nitrogen content, phosphorus content (P2O5), potassium content (K2O), calcium and magnesium content, humus content (H%), determining the humus quality according to Hargitai’s method and dehydrogenase enzyme activity. It can be concluded from the results that the vermicomposting of studied communal sewage sludge has started and keeps going. The basic physical and chemical parameters (e.g. temperature, humus quality and quantity) support the changes. The results of humus quality and quantity which are priority variables of agriculture use show average increasing despite the initial recession. The changes of the important chemical parameters (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) in nutrient management were developed favorably. In our presentation the previous laboratory results are described.

    The quality of communication channels in the B2B sector plays a fundamental role in determining the success of collaborations. With the rapid advancement of digitalization, it has become inevitable for higher education institutions to rethink and modernize their communication practices with business partners. The aim of our research was to map the currently used communication tools and processes, with a particular focus on how well they meet the expectations of today’s business environment and how they could be improved in the future.

    Through semi-structured interviews conducted with the corporate partners of the University of Debrecen, we gained deeper insight into how inter-institutional communication works in practice, what challenges arise, and what development needs are identified by the stakeholders involved. The findings highlighted that, although existing tools are often functional, there is a clear demand for a consciously designed, innovative, and flexible communication system.

    Our research is future-oriented: our goal is to formulate development proposals that support higher education institutions in building more dynamic, technologically supported, yet human-centered communication with their partners. These modern communication models could not only enhance institutional competitiveness but also provide students with more valuable and authentic networks for engaging with the business sector.

    Logistics processes have an increasingly significant environmental impact, which is partly caused by a lack of knowledge or priority for green logistics. Emissions from transport, energy consumption related to production, storage and material handling, as well as packaging waste are all serious burdens. At the same time, environmentally friendly solutions can improve the image of companies. The goal of a green supply chain is not only to deliver products to the consumer, but also to reduce environmental impact while maintaining efficiency and reliability. Sustainability strategies such as reducing the carbon footprint or increasing energy efficiency are crucial. The topic was examined by systematic literature analysis based on the Web of Science database (2014–2024), using the PRISMA methodology. According to the results, from 2021 onwards, digital technologies (e.g. blockchain, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence) have come to the fore, which will determine the future of green logistics and further research directions.

    In order to be able to prepare accurate calculations we had to determine the area and number of plants both in the case when the seeds were sown in the field and when they were in seedling transplants. The time requirements of the treated areas and also material used associated with the different modes of propagation varied. There are significant differences between the field and forcing technologies as for construction-related costs. The expense and cost calculations were based on the operation. The calculation includes the operating natural inputs (labour, material used), and are expressed in monetary value: the costs (wages, cost of materials). Costing does not count with the common charge, since the production process has not been completed yet. In this calculation the cost of labour is recognized. We calculated the area which can give enough profit to support the farmer and his family.

    Logistics is one of the most important economic sectors of the European Union, with nearly 1.134 million companies engaged in the field of transportation in the EU. The global logistics market is expected to show further expansion in the forthcoming years. On the other side stands global warning which is one of the greatest problems for the time being. The European Commission has announced a cross-sectoral investment programme worth more than 10 billion euros (nearly 3,200 billion Hungarian forints) for the planning, development and implementation of low carbon dioxide-emitting technologies to improve Europe’s global competitiveness. The common data base of OECD and the European Environment Agency (EEA) currently lists 375 environmental taxes and approximately 250 environmental fees or charges in the OECD countries. Among the EU member states, Sweden, for example, introduced a tax system which includes the essential elements of eco-tax more than 10 years ago. Hungary has several of such tax types, such as the excise tax on fuel, the energy tax, the energy suppliers’ income tax or the vehicle tax.

    In present day Slovakia, a huge emphasis is put on the development of business in individual regions, by which employment and economic expansion is guaranteed. One of the methods how businessmen from stagnant regions can improve their economics is marketing and the appropriate use of marketing tools. In the given paper we present possibilities for development and improvement businesses in less developed regions by the means of marketing activities. The research was realised in chosen enterprises from the field of gastronomy and it concentrated on the use of marketing tools. In the end we propose the results of the research, suggestions and references out of which we consider the effective use of marketing tools to be the most important, especially marketing communication and also information-communication technologies that should be used more by managers.

    Current environmental legislation, directives, and expectations of the stakeholders put increasing pressure on companies' sustainability efforts. Such efforts include applying life cycle analysis methods, resource-saving technologies, low-emission practices, and voluntary ecological rules. Digitization facilitates these efforts, and the forced situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the digital transformation process even more. Many companies were pressured to find solutions that legally and effectively bypass personal presence. Paper-based administration was restrained, giving hope for the broader spread of entirely paperless businesses. The study aims to present Hungarian companies' incentives for environmental protection and emphasize how paper-free offices are an essential milestone in sustainable development.

    The literature identifies several theories and frameworks for assessing user acceptance and adoption of new technologies, of which the TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) and its extensions, and the UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) are the most popular. Several studies confirm that the UTAUT model has proven to be effective in investigating the causal relationships between behavioral intentions. In the literature review, we aimed to explore, alongside specific parameters, which dependent and independent variables are relevant to investigate individuals' attitudes towards online shopping and electronic payments. In addition, we aimed to explore how the basic UTAUT model could be complemented to increase the effectiveness of the study. By acquiring the relevant literature background, we laid the foundation for the implementation of our primary research, which aims to map the online shopping and electronic payment behavior of university students using the UTAUT model. The literature review concluded that the variables of the basic UTAUT model should be extended to include perceived trust and risk, as well as service quality and awareness. If users believe that a technology will improve their performance, they are more likely to adopt and use it. Individuals are more likely to adopt a new technology if it is easy to use. This is determined by user interfaces, user-friendliness, the complexity of the tasks required to use the technology, and the perceived ease of interaction. The way in which individuals relate to a new technology or system is also influenced by the social circles in which they participate.
