Safety Index Based on Geometric Probability Is Proposed to Represent the Uncertainty of Soil Parameters for Spread Foundations

Analysing the Possible Connection Between Dark Triad Personality Traits and Ethical Attitudes of University Students
57-67Views:316In our paper we examined the possible connection between the Dark Triad personality traits and ethical attitudes among university students. The analysis of both topics has become the focus of interest in the past decades. Researchers consider the impact of many factors in the background of ethical attitudes and behavior. Among other things, personality is also a potential factor. The Dark Triad personality means the coexistence of the socially undesirable narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. Such people are characterized by self-love, aggression, the lack of guilt or conscience, so they are less likely to have ethical attitudes. In our research, this connection was examined by a questionnaire survey conducted among first year students of University of Debrecen Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology and Faculty of Economics and Business. Respondents completed the validated Dirty Dozen questionnaire which was developed to measure Dark Triad personality and a questionnaire adapted from Lozier's research in which respondents were asked to evaluate school situations whether they are ethical or unethical and to what extent they are unethical. In our research, we were looking for significant relationships between the strength of the Dark Triad characteristics and the ethical judgment of situations. We also analyzed the differences between men and women and students of the two faculties.

Investigation of application and development of precision irrigation technology
239-248Views:226Due to the extreme weather conditions irrigation is nowadays considered an increasingly necessary factor. After evaluating the water requirements of the plant and the available water resources is necessary to decide what irrigation method to use. One of the most commonly used methods in field conditions is rain-type irrigation, of which there are several types (eg linear, winding drum). The uniformity of the field nozzles can be characterized by the Christiansen uniformity factor (CU%) and the distribution uniformity factor (DU%). The coefficients can be derived from the volume of water captured by the rain gauges. Our investigations were carried out in July and August 2019 at the University of Debrecen's Vision Plant Experimental Plant and at a linear irrigation equipment of a Nyírbátor company. The aim of the study was to compare the uniformity of water dispersion applied by conventional linear technology and precision linear irrigation technology. In addition we examined the intercept values of maize.

A fejlődő kkv méretű vállalkozások versenyképessége - ami magába foglalja a költségek nagyságát is, kapcsolódva a K+F tevékenységhez vagy vállalat növekedéshez – a lekötött tőke mértékével arányosan változhat, melynek jelentős részét képezik a készletek. The Efficiency of Intellectual Capital as a Crucial Factor of Innovation
419-428Views:244In today's global economy, there is a substantial shift from manufacturing to services, which challenges both economic policymakers, business stakeholders, owners, suppliers, competitors, and ordinary people: restructuring will encourage all economic players to learn how to adapt to new trends. That is why our research focuses on innovation and the ability of companies to create value. The IT sector is currently one of the fastest-growing and most innovative sectors within the service industry. The success of IT companies is greatly determined by their ability, how to make effective use of their intangible assets at their disposal, including intellectual capital, which is defined as a non-financial asset. So the question may arise: how is it possible to quantify and in monetary terms the intellectual capital of the companies to be examined? That is why, we calculated for the most successful Hungarian IT companies the widely recognized index, the VAICTM index, for which domestic calculations are not yet available. Indeed, this indicator eliminates the lack of information stemming from reporting standards by the methodology relying on publicly available financial reporting data. The indicator itself is a top indicator whose two main sub-indicators quantify the effectiveness of intellectual capital and physical capital.

The Relationship Between Renewable Energy Consumption, Net Energy Import, Greenhouse Gas Emission and Human Cap
58-71Views:160The measures to improve energy efficiency and increase of renewable energy production and consumption should be encouraged in the interest of sustainable development. Many factors can influence the use of renewable energy such as the level of economic development of an economy, nationals’ and the main economic actors’ environmental awareness, energy import dependency, ratio of the urban population, and government subsidization intensity among the others. The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the share of renewable energy in the total energy consumption and net energy import as a percentage of energy use less production, greenhouse gas emission per capita and human capital using by OECD countries data from 1990 to 2014. The results indicate that there is a negative relationship between net energy import and renewable energy consumption, and also negative relationship can be shown between the amount of greenhouse gas emission per capita and renewable energy consumption. However, we identified a positive relationship between human capital and renewable energy consumption for energy importer countries above a certain level of human capital.

Survey of the Service Offer of Fitness Clubs for Group Classes in Debrecen
35-48Views:292The economic and social importance of the fitness sector is steadily increasing. The range of services provided by fitness centers is expanding and the popularity of fitness clubs is constantly growing. Fitness workouts are easily accessible for everyone, and there are numerous types of fitness centers which can play an important role in everyday physical activity. There are many factors that can influence the choice of fitness consumers for the gym, also fitness professionals play a key role in this regard. It is essential for fitness clubs in order to remain competitive on the market, to employ fitness instructors with the optimal personality and expertise, but in many cases, there is a lack of verification of qualifications. In our study, we conducted interviews with 20 fitness instructors who work in a fitness center that offers group lessons to consumers. The questionnaire included questions about consumer preferences, fitness facilities, trainers qualifications, and activities. Our study was made among eleven fitness clubs in Debrecen. The number of fitness clubs is constantly changing, with each year closing, opening or rebuilding fitness centers, which vary widely in size and number of services offered. The majority of respondent trainers are women as are the participants women in group lessons. Most of the interviewed trainers have OKJ qualifications, but the results reflect that fitness providers have not checked their qualifications at all before applying them. Fitness professionals play an extremely important role in leisure sports, contributing in maintainance and development of the fitness consumers’s health. Their work has a particular responsibility, as they can influence the physical and mental health of others in both positive and negative ways. Not only to avoid the risk of injuries, but also to prevent long-term health damage, fitness professionals play an important role. Controlling the qualifications also be in the interest of fitness clubs, not only avoiding accidents, but also increasing attendance at group classes by employing reliable, excellent personal trainers.

Ethical Leadership, at the Beginning of a Research

I give an insight into the approaches of ethical leadership, give a literature review on the concept of ethical leadership, and introduce the measurement methods used in the most important empirical researches related to this topic. I also try to report on the first results of my research (I plan to describe features of Hungarian leaders based on a smaller sample). How does this relate to the challenges of Industry 4.0? I give the answer from the fact that, with the advent of these new technologies (which in themselves have ethical questions), among these new challenges, the focus of the manager's attention will continue to be partly on their employees. If they set an ethical example for their subordinates, they encourage their employees to act ethically, which gives the company a competitive edge in many ways, both in the product/service market and in the labor market too. So, with my study, I would like to draw the attention of executives and managers to the fact that new technologies and the human factor together bring new successes, and that one possible way of doing this is by consciously managing their company ethically and developing an ethical organizational culture.

Examination of preferences for pork meat and pork meat products among university students

The used sample (N=324) for the analysis came from the students of the University of Debrecen Faculty of Economics and Business. The survey was conducted by the form of online questionnaire. The results from data analyzes were based on descriptive statistics, cross-table and correlation analysis, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests. Based on the results we can concluded that majority of consumers in the sample would be willing to pay more for hungarian and healthier products with less than 50%. Furthermore we can say that have a significant difference between men and women according all factors which used in analysis; have a significant difference between people with secondary and higher education according to perception of manufacturer/brand; have a significant difference between income level groups according to price and healthy eating.

„Return to the Countryside” – a Qualitative Approach of Students’ Opinions About Rural Life

In addition, we examined those factors, which are contributing to that respondents who are studying in large cities want to stay there, but at the same time we wanted to explore the opposite factors, those that make tudents to return to the countryside. Last, but not least we investigated a very interesting topic, the relations between the respondents and the rural elite.

Analysis of the Causes and Effects of Noise from Rail Transport

Among the many sources of noise emissions, rail vehicles and infrastructure are a major factor. With regard to rail noise emissions, it can be concluded that noise effects are influenced by a number of factors. These factors include train speed, track condition, traction technology and the noise abatement methods used. The negative effects of noise exposure include sleep disturbance, stress and mental health deterioration. It also affects the quality of life of people in urban areas and property prices. It should be emphasised that reducing noise emissions from rail transport is key to creating a healthier and more sustainable urban environment. To achieve this, it is important to use modern noise abatement technologies, improve infrastructure and implement noise abatement actions effectively. Transport authorities and railway companies should work together to achieve a more noise-free rail transport, to improve people's quality of life and to protect the environment.

Changes in the Financial Condition of Families in Hungary between 2000 and 2019

It is determined, among other things, by the development of wages, social benefits, tax rates and the amount of allowances that can be granted. The part of the tax system that affects the largest segment of individuals changes every year, and even during the year, reducing predictability. In recent years, discussions over the taxes have shown that the rate of personal income tax cannot be evaluated separately from the social security contribution rate. Gross average earnings - on the grounds of raising the minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage - have more than four-times in nearly 20 years. However the rate of growth is higher in the average net earnings due to changes in the tax system. Compulsory determined wages increased to almost six-times over the years under investigated. But in 20 years, how much has the income situation of an average family living on a salary become more favourable or more unfavourable? In our study we are looking for an answer to how the increase in the minimum wage and the changes in the law how to have affected the livelihood.

Comparative Analysis of Collaborative Robots

The close relationship and connection between information and information technology has become a fundamental factor in the societies of today, the organizations life, which generates inevitable, sometimes serious debates and profound changes. Economic operators must necessarily be resilient to technological change. We should think of the time of the Industrial Revolution, when modern weaving machines flooded the factories. Otherwise, a resilient organization will not survive in an evolving and ever-changing dynamic economic environment. Of course, this is true of agriculture as well, just as it is for other sectors of the national economy. On the one hand, my assumption on the basis of which my questionnaire was compiled was that enterprise management systems are increasingly used by enterprises in agriculture due to the diversification of activities. At the same time, I assumed that the size of a business could influence the use of information technology (hereinafter IT), so I hoped that my research would provide reliable data on this as well.

Investigating the Motivation of Adventure Park Visitors
106-126Views:292In the world of runaway, “homo-sitting” and mobile telephones, the quality of leisure time is gaining increasing importance, most of which is the experience gained and the characteristics of existing natural factors. A variety of thematic and adventure parks are reported every year, increasing travel and visitors' growth every year, the service offering of which broadly satisfies the needs of modern man and kind. In the focus of our research, we set the link between recreational habits and motivation of adventure park visiting. Use the survey questionnaire to calibrate consumer habits (n = 408). There were significant differences in the number of factors studied, such as those who seek more physical activities in their free time and prefer to respond to the challenge and extravagance motivating motivation in each of the adventure parks, or even for leisure-time enthusiasts. Our research reveals that service providers should consider targeting their leisure time habits, for example, they can benefit from a thorough consumer mapping from the point of view of electoral motivation.

The Role of Employee Participation and Resistance in the Success of Change Management
22-30Views:219Successful change in the lives of organizations has played a particularly important role in the recent turbulently changing decades, and leadership-follower relationships need to be addressed in order to maintain performance. Participation should be ensured for members of the organization and emerging resistance should be addressed. The subject of my research was to examine whether the assessment of the success of change is influenced by the provision of opportunities for employees to make suggestions and their opposition to change. By performing chi-square tests, I came to the conclusion that if the opinion of the worker is heard, they are more likely to judge the change to be successful, however, the manager is not affected by the involvement of the employees in this. However, there is a correlation between employees' resentment to change and the success of change, both from the employee and managerial side, change is more unsuccessful if resentment develops. Based on the results, both factors are important. It is worth drawing the attention of managers to the need to ensure participation, as failure to do so can lead to dissatisfaction among employees, which can also have a negative impact on the success of the organization.
