Challenges of Guidance and Counselling Students During Practicum Exercise
75-84Views:116Practicum is a platform designed for counsellors-in-training to assist them to become full professional counsellors. Practicum exercise is one of the major processes for gaining mastery of key concepts in counselling. The detached between theory and practice is a major challenge. This research, therefore focused on the challenges of guidance and counselling students in University of Ilorin during practicum. The descriptive study was adopted in this study. The researcher employed the use of simple random technique to select 220 undergraduate students in the Department of Counsellor Education University of Ilorin. The developed questionnaire was titled “Challenges of Practicum Exercise Questionnaire (CPEQ)”. This was adopted to gather information from the respondents. The instrument had a reliability coefficient of 0.70. The demographic data were analyzed using percentages. Hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The obtained result showed that lack of adequate facilities for practicum exercise, inadequate mastery of counselling skills and inability to synthesize concepts during presentation are the major challenges. All the hypotheses were accepted. Based on these findings, it was recommended that students in training should constantly engage in micro counselling in the laboratory, this will assist them to gain mastery of counselling procedures and thereby overcome challenges on the field.

THE CREATIVE USE OF PHOTOTHERAPEUTIC TOOLS IN EDUCATION
119-124Views:292The Educational Service functions in interdisciplinary teams. The services are primarily used by children with special educational needs, along with their parents and educators. The best practice was made by thinking in an integrated service model, based on solution-focused, children – and family-oriented experiences. One of the cornerstones is coaching, especially those tools, that inspire phototherapeutic self-knowledge and the solutions of problems, Points of You™ (Efrat Shani & Yaron Golan, 2007). The phototherapeutic picture – and word cards function as projective surfaces. They stimulate both of the cerebral hemispheres at the same time, causing an intentional confusion between the logical left hemisphere and the intuitive right one. That’s when the person is able to see a new point of view and have an „aha experience”. The new point of view can already lead to the recognition of new possibilities. The Educational Service of Hajdú-Bihar County introduced the phototherapeutic method to its educational practices in a lot of areas of the service, innovatively and uniquely in the country, on an organizational level. In the area of educational and psychological counseling and development, this method can be used in individual, couple, and group forms, as well. People can use it to develop themselves, it can be used with children, parents, educators, and other processes. The core institution of the Ministry of Education has been making this best practice popular for years now.

THE PEDAGOGICAL EXPERIMENT OF MONTESSORI-CONDUCTIVE EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE 2000-2003
11-23Views:339The researchers call Montessori's pedagogy developer or development pedagogy. In the past decade, in Hungary, it appeared as a development pedagogy in the pedagogical practice. The conductive education is a special, complex pedagogical method [6] because it takes into consideration special educational needs in planning and implementation. We can view Mária Montessori's method as a development pedagogical method because it's suitable for children with special educational needs. Her pedagogical work began with children with intellectual disabilities. The Montessori development method has not yet occurred in conductive education. With our research, we wanted to broaden the use of the Montessori method in the practice of special education and development pedagogy. We wanted to confirm the similarity and difference of the holistic approach of the two doctor-pedagogues. It's explicable with Pető's holistic approach, why didn't entrust the development of perception, speech, motion, and communication difficulties to people working in different places and time. We introduced the Montessori conductive educational practice experimentally in the semesters of 2000-2003 and 2007-2008, in accordance with the student's college education. The purpose of the program was to demonstrate the practical application of the elements of the two methods and their coordinated operation.

CHILD CONCEPTION AND CHILDHOOD NARRATIVES IN THE LIGHT OF CRITICAL PEDAGOGY, CHILDHOOD SOCIOLOGY AND NARRATIVE PSYCHOLOGY
41-52Views:219In my thesis I attempt to define the basic concepts of the historical research of child conception and child perception, I try to emphasize the significance of narratives of childhood, and I point to the connection between the child conception, child perception, and the narratives. In the Hungarian pedagogical press, there aren’t yet carefully developed definitions, theoretical approaches regarding the researches of child conception and child perception, and that’s why we have to review that subject. My study contains three main parts. In the first chapter I review the connections between the everyday pedagogical attitudes or perspectives and the child ideologies, then I analyze the relationship between the development-based pedagogy and the everyday pedagogical discourses, but I attempt to define the contemplative pedagogical attitude too. In chapter II I outline the concepts of child conception (child image) and child perception, and I point the relation between these concepts and the narratives of childhood. The last chapter is a summary with practical aspects, but I don’t show the paradigms of childhood history. In my theoretical overview, I try to answer that question: what kind of resources, components we can find in the different pedagogical views, and how to do these works under our researches. In my view, the child ideologies determine the pedagogical discourses of the different ages, and instead of the totalizing child conception of development-bases pedagogy we try to find new paradigms, e. g. the narrative psychology, the critical pedagogy and the new childhood-sociology, therefore these paradigms are more efficient for the child-rearing practices and our researches. Namely, we can’t vocalize the children’s perspective by the comparison to the adult gauge, therefore we prefer the contemplative, narrative methods, which leave open the frame of interpretation (reference).

Lent and Easter in the Philippines:Catholic Religious Practices in the Discourse of Gender Performativity.
123-134Views:281Filipinos consider Holy Week as the holiest of days of Lent and Easter. During this time, the country is shrouded with centuries-old rituals and practices that persist in contemporary times. Using the framework of gender performativity, this study examines three forms of pamamanata (devotion): pagsasanto (taking care of a religious image), penitensya (penance), and salubong (Easter procession). The aim is to identify pamamanata practices that align with the feminine, masculine, gay, and those bordering between masculine and feminine tropes. The study maximized data from the author’s fieldwork and ethnographic materials written by academics. This study found that the three pamamanata traditions are gendered practices and that these are affected by the agencies of the family, community, and religion.

TEACHERS IN A DISADVANTAGED POSITION
39-50Views:127The writers of this study will use the expression ‘disadvantaged’ in a broader sense. The first part of the study deals with teachers and teacher trainees who are in a disadvantaged position because they have got a physical disability. Structured interviews were made with 8 persons. The interviews focused on their educational experiences and also their experiences in the labor market. The key question of the interviews was whether the interviewees had experienced negative discrimination or not. The other part of the study written by Noémi Csilla Borsodi deals with teachers who are in a disadvantaged position because they are working in a vocational school. Many times, a lot of people have written about pedagogical success, its determination, and the grouping of its indicators. First, pedagogical success will be discussed from a different perspective, then the working conditions at a vocational school will be mentioned. Furthermore, the reasons for why the traditional concept cannot be ’substitute’ into the ’equation of success’ for vocational school. Finally, some good practices will be shown that could help motivate students.

INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IMPLEMENTED IN THE FORM OF EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: CASE STUDY
35-46Views:232The aim of inclusive education is to adapt educational requirements, educational organization and learning conditions to the needs and capabilities of each pupil in a multifaceted way. Inclusive education is implemented by the educational systems of the European Union Member States. In Poland its history began in the 1990s. Many activities are currently being undertaken to create the best possible conditions for the development of the potential of each pupil. The school environment in cooperation with the family is responsible for taking all possible measures to eliminate barriers which prevent the child from being given proper education. In particular, this task is related to the care for a child with disabilities. In the Polish educational system, there are many forms of implementing the postulate of inclusive education. It is worth emphasizing the activity of day-care centres which provide extra-curricular education for children. The school day-care centre is a place where inclusive education is a daily practice. The article presents a case study of the activity of a day-care centre in one of the schools with inclusive classes in Krakow. The description of the day-care centre functioning made it possible to present the diversity of activities undertaken in it. The data was extended by referring to the opinions of parents and children.

A CASE STUDY OF TEACHING ENGLISH IN KINDERGARTENS SINCE 1989 – A NORTH-EAST HUNGARIAN CITY
127-137Views:83In our paper, we deal with the significance of learning languages at an early age. The research aimed to explore how the teaching methods employed in kindergartens have altered with the change of the political regime in 1989–90. A case-study was conducted using semi-structured interviews (n=7) with early childhood educators and language teachers in 2016/2017. Oral history method was used because no written material was produced. Based on information we received from the informants and local authorities, early English activities were available in 68% of kindergartens in the North-East Hungarian city when the research was undertaken. The number of kindergartens which organize playbased foreign language practices has been increasing since the 1990s. In the beginning, providing educational personnal was the most difficult task. Using audio-visual devices and props has been highly important, and Early Childhood Educators have been doing their best when working with children aged 4–7. However, there are differences too, due to the development of technology.

CAN THE PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE OF THE PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS REMOVE THE SOCIAL PREJUDICE TOWARDS THE PUPILS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS? A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS ON THE ATTITUDE TOWARDS BEHAVIORAL MANAGEMENT IN PRIMARY SCHOOL
17-24Views:192The aim of the study is to highlight the attitude of the students (N=72) from Pedagogy of Primary and Preschool Education Program (pre-service teacher), from first and third years of study, related to how they want, as future teachers, to develop pupils’ learning skills in the inclusive classroom by adopting certain behavioral management of pupils with special needs. The working tool used is the Behavior and Instructional Management Scale, developed by Martin and Sass (2010). The comparative analysis of the results obtained according to the year of study captures the existence of statistically significant differences in the aspect of the management of the behavior in the classroom, both in traditional and inclusive classes, during the lessons, with higher averages for the pre-service teachers of 3rd year. Also, pre-service teachers from the 3rd year of study have a higher level of expectations for implementing the rules in school activities with pupils with special needs, compared to the pre-service teachers of the 1st year, which draws attention to the importance of pedagogical practical stage in primary school.

FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF A TALENT MANAGEMENT ‒ GOOD PRACTICE AT THE ÁRPÁD VEZÉR PRIMARY SCHOOL IN DEBRECEN
117-127Views:197Talent management is a very important area in the pedagogical program of schools. Examining children’s interests or raising their interest can provide students with a learning motivation that allows talent to unfold or help the process of becoming a talent which the joint coordinated work of the teacher-student-parent can make the most effective. In our article, in the care of the talents of the students of the Árpád Vezér Primary School in Debrecen, Elektra Tóth (class 5B) we present the project presented by Ildikó Czeglédi and the process and participants of talent management as a good practice. The topic of the research was space exploration and astronomy, which could be a very interesting topic for other students. It deals with objects that seem to motivate children in the process of cognition, seeming a bit mystical and unreachable at light-years away. It was prepared for the VI. Debrecen City Talent Care Student Conference event was on March 10, 2022. The project consisted of a 3-page dissertation and a 5-minute presentation. The survey (N = 357) was completed by upper-elementary students who study in the Northern Great Plain region. The questionnaire found answers to the question of whether children are interested in space research, where they can get information about it, and what kind of school program they should be involved in related to this topic. The results of the questionnaire were processed using SPSS software, and we calculated basic statistics (mean, standard deviation) and correlation analysis (independent t-test, chi-squared distribution) too. The research confirmed that children are interested in the topic, but we were able to show a significant difference in the motivation of boys and girls during school programs. These are worth considering for teachers who organize school programs so they can reach children even more effectively in this topic. Girls can be addressed with the utility of space exploration, drawing and crafts classes, and lectures, while boys can be addressed with online games.
