    The study addresses the language problems of children with socio-cultural background problems. Children from the environment using a limited language code are more likely to start with a language disadvantage or language delay, and these ability deficits do not or only moderately decrease during the years of institutional education. In the presented pilot study, n = 20 people from Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, disadvantaged Gypsy / Roma children living in three villages and their parents were analyzed. In the study, the Parental Treatment Questionnaire (H-PBI, Gordon, 1979), the LAPP Active Vocabulary Survey (Lőrik et al., 2015), and the speech of children with delayed/impeded speech developed by Dr. Ágnes Juhász and Tiborné Bittera (1995) and its language development was examined. The results were interpreted according to the small sample on the basis of simple statistics, and the drawing of conclusions is also treated sparingly.

    In order to carry out effectiveness study of the development programs (e.g. education, children with special needs) based on mathematical-statistical methods, the following factors are important: 1) you need some basic mathematical definitions (Math et all., 2015), 2) a statistical software (e.g.: the ’R’) at a reasonable price, 3) some experience in working with this software. The ’R’ is free downloadable software (that can be applied in mathematical-statistical calculations too) which can be a very useful instrument of research of children who need special treatment. This paper provides a practical solution in connection with the last two factors and introduces language ’R’ and its possibilities.

    Play and learn, or learn while having fun. Unfortunately, in today's achievement-oriented society, education is all about getting a student to complete a predetermined task on time. This pressure can be very stressful for students, especially if they themselves are perfectionists and want to do their best, and fear failure (repeating a term) and the feeling of underachievement when compared to the abilities of their peers. The "Juggling for Effective Learning" course has already been offered six times to students at Óbuda University. The primary reason for the course was to help students who have a disability, primarily a learning disability (dyslexia or dysgraphia). However, students who are curious about the course are also welcome to attend.

  • COMPARATIVE STUDY OF BODY TYPE INDEXES AND MOTORIC ABILITIES OF STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS (SEN) AND MAINSTREAM STUDENTS BY NETFIT SYSTEM

    Students with special educational needs (SEN) are participants of the Hungarian educational system. The goal of this study is to compare the body type indexes and motoric abilities of SEN students and mainstream students. Sample: n = 160 persons (80 SEN students and 80 mainstream students) from 1-8 grades of elementary school. Method: the survey of body type indexes and motoric abilities physical skills was based on the Hungarian NETFIT system (NETFIT is a Hungarian acronym of the National Unitary Student Fitness Test). Results: much more emphasis should be given to physical education lessons of SEN students because their physique indicators and motoric performances are significantly worse than mainstream pupils’.

  • NAZARETH SCHOOL AS A STIMULUS IN THE BIBLICAL FORMATION OF THE FAMILY COMMUNITY AGNUS DEI

    Every family seeks encouragement for their spiritual and sociological growth. This article brings research among 30 members of the Agnus Dei family community. We explored the impact of the biblical text, in particular, the Gospel of Mark on married couples who encounter daily difficulties in raising children, but also in the personal upbringing of adults. The researcher of this article was inspired by the characters of the holy family: Joseph, Mary and Jesus. Jesus ’upbringing in Nazareth and the boy’s upbringing enabled his parents’ personal spiritual formation. That part makes up the first part of the paper. It is followed by a survey among members of the Agnus Dei family community. Research has shown that there is a great interest in God’s word. Throughout the year, attendees had the opportunity to listen to commentaries on the Gospel of Mark. In addition to certain exercises, they applied instructions to daily life. The results showed that their family community was re-formed by the word of God. They felt an improvement in interpersonal relationships in the family but also in the community. The Nazareth school actually became a stimulus for all participants in catechesis.  Biblical methods in raising a family indicate positive results.

  • The First Steps of the Auxiliary School at the Turn of the 19th and 20th Centuries in Hungary

    Among the public education efforts at the end of the 19th century, the compulsory school attendance. There were a significant number of compulsory school children whose physical and mental condition did not allow them to attend public schools. For them, they also looked for opportunities at the international level that would help them become useful members of society. This was provided by the auxiliary school for disabled children. At the turn of the century, the need for this became clear not only to professionals, but also to the government. The pedagogical press of the turn of the century also dealt with the admission possibilities of these students, the training of their teachers, their teaching methodology, and their future employment opportunities.

       The health status of the Hungarian population is worse than that of other similarly developed countries’ populations. An important cause for this phenomenon can be characterized as a high prevalence of unhealthy living and deficient health literacy. An important tool to change is efficient health promotion in kindergarten and school. Children and young people spend many years in these institutions, and the way their teachers contact them will influence their health behavior. Therefore it is highly important that holistic health promotion has been prescribed for all schools and kindergartens since 2012 in Hungary. Our paper presents reasonableness and a short summary of the holistic health promotion in educational institutions as well as the helping actions given for teachers by the government.

    The authors study by using questionnaires the amount of time spent by college students at the Applied Humanities and Pedagogy Faculty of Szent István University (n=127) on body hygiene, sleeping, meal, participation in lessons, active-passive exploitation of free time. Results: Meal – the students consume in great amount chocolates, chips while their fruit and vegetable consummation seem backward. Move the proportion of students doing regular physical education is no more than 21 %, 55% are not involved in any sporting activities, 13 % do not like anybody's movement. Others 39 % of the students spent more than 1-2 hours daily in front of a computer or TV set. The results suggest that in the teacher candidates’ scale of values the place of health falls too much behind.

    Family planning can be considered beneficial to an extent and it involves the use of contraceptives to stop unwanted pregnancies. Thus, this study investigated attitude of post-graduate students towards family planning in Ilorin metropolis, Kwara state. Descriptive research design of survey type was adopted for this study. The population for this study consisted of post graduates in Ilorin, Kwara state. The sample of two hundred were randomly selected. The sampling technique that was used in this study was purposive sampling technique. The instrument that was used for this study is a researcher-developed questionnaire tagged “Attitude of Post-graduate Students Towards Family Planning Question (APSTFPQ)". In analyzing the data collected for this study, both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were employed. The demographic data collected was analyzed using percentages and ranking order. In testing the hypotheses generated, t-test and Analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistics were used to analyze the hypotheses generated for the study at 0.05 level of significance. The study revealed that the attitude of post graduate students towards family planning in Ilorin metropolis was positive. There was no significant difference in the attitude of post graduate students towards family planning based on age, course of study and number of children while significant difference was observed on level of educational attainment. Based on the findings of this study, it was recommended that awareness should be created among post graduate students about family planning to improve the attitude of the students towards family planning, Counsellors in tertiary institutions should organize seminars and workshops on family planning and its importance, post graduate students irrespective of age, course of study and number of children should make it as a habit to engage in family planning.

    This study seeks to determine whether it is an exceptional talent and hard work, or courage mixed with young energy and luck, maybe all these together, that makes it possible for young adults with a fresh diploma in the 2010s to find their future in Europe’s labor market. Sample: n = 28 (22-35 years old) women. Method: semi-structured interview. Results: even though all the interviewees are unique, all the participants can be said to have a few things in common; persistent study and exceptional diligence paired with talent. There is, however, one more thing shared across 98% of interviewees in our research sample; when asked if they will come back to Hungary, they answered without hesitation that they didn’t think they ever would.
