INVESTIGATION OF RECREATIONAL CONSUMER HABITS AMONG HUNGARIAN YOUNG ADULTS
33-44Views:1160Background: In our modern world the importance of how are we able to spend our leisure time is getting more and more significant. This approach is particularly important regarding youngsters. The generations of Y and Z are mainly mobile and they all were born in the world determined by electronics, where everything can be accessed and managed online via the internet. Because of this comfort, leisure time has been more passive, and unfortunately, the physical activity has not had recently as important significance as it was before. Results: Our paper conducted a survey about the leisure time habits of young adults and youngsters under 30 years old age. The results were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 software, we looked at baseline statistics and performed a Chi2 test with a gamma coefficient in a cross-table analysis. The focus has been placed on revealing potential differences in residence and net monthly income per capita. The results confirmed that respondents in the capital are more likely to engage in daily sports activities, while those who are living in villages are more likely to spend their free time with physical activity. Conclusion: We found that there is no justification for the big difference between one's leisure time spending and income. Outdoor activities received lower ratings from respondents with a net monthly income of fewer than 100,000 Ft per person.

BASIC TERMS IN MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS OF IMPACT STUDIES FOR DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMS
69-77Views:177Pedagogues, kindergarten pedagogues, special needs teachers (also known as remedial teachers), and psychologists – just a few of those people who can create and use development programs. These programs are expected to be proven in their effects by using mathematical analysis. However, it doesn’t happen in every case – partly due to a shortage of definitions of mathematical statistics, methodology problems, and expensive software. This paper is a theoretical summary of the mathematical-statistical analysis of effectiveness studies of remedial courses designed for those who live with special needs.

THE ROLE OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC BACKGROUND VARIABLES IN NETFIT MEASUREMENT
33-44Views:222Assessment of physical indicators and motor skills is the Hungarian National Unified Student Fitness Test (hereinafter referred to as "NETFIT"), which was introduced in public education from the 2013/14 academic year, which aims to demonstrate the effects of everyday physical education on the fitness and physiological parameters of students. When showing the national results of the tests, it is also shown that the fitness condition is determined by the genetic conditions, the family background and the environment (Csányi et al., 2015, Csányi and Kaj 2017) so results can be interpreted in a common context of these factors. In our research, we aimed at examining NETFIT data from Budapest secondary school students, supplemented by family background surveys. During our research, we sought to find out how the fitness profile of boys studying at the Budapest Technical Vocational Training Center is based on the results of the NETFIT tests. What is the relationship between family background and NETFIT performance? Our survey was carried out at one of the largest schools of the Budapest Technical Vocational Training Center at the Technical Training Center in Újpesti Two Teaching Grammar School and Technical College of the Budapest Technical Vocational Training Center. A total of 342 pupils were included in the study, where a questionnaire of 35 questions was used to investigate the correlations of NETFIT results and socioeconomic background indicators. Numerous studies have shown that the more favorable SES students have generally more favorable fitness indicators (Jiménez-Pavon et al., 2010, Ortega et al., 2013, Vandendriessche et al., 2012). There is also a great deal of evidence that country-specific regional status indicators are higher in regions with more favorable SES (Charlton et al., 2014, Golle et al., 2014, Cleland et al., 2009, Welk, Saint-Maurice and Csányi, 2015). During our research, we found that students in need of development mostly come from small communities, with some 58.3% developing. These values differ significantly (khi = 218.6, df = 20, p = 0.000). The basic pillow of the lifestyle is the family (Field 2018), the habits of which shape the child's relationship with sports, and later it is very difficult to change them (Herpain et al., 2017, Herpainé 2018). The study showed that the father's sporting habits are decisive in the case of the examined boy's pupils, but the mother's sporting habit does not have the same effect on the sportsman's behavior. We propose to extend the NETFIT test bundle with the socioeconomic background examination of the examined person.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF ACTIVE AND PASSIVE RECREATIONAL CONSUMPTION HABITS OF DISABLED CHILDREN LIVING IN THE NORTHERN GREAT PLAIN REGION
31-39Views:206In our research, we studied the leisure habits of students with disabilities (8-18 years, n = 289) living in the North Great Plain region using a questionnaire method. The aim of the research was to examine the leisure habits of children with disabilities in the region, their main characteristics, and their recreational attitudes. Our goal was also the gender test to see whether there was a significant difference between the sexes and how this correlated with the results of the study of leisure habits in the wild. We sought to find out what the most common leisure time activities for general and high school students with disabilities are, how does this affect genders? What is their attitude towards spending time on leisure? What are their sporting habits and sporting consumption? We have found that the recreational consumption of young people with disabilities is similar to the results of surveys carried among normal children as passive leisure time is dominant (listening to music, watching TV). In girls' leisure time, the preference for listening and reading is more dominant while watching TV, especially popular sports channels are more characteristic of boys. For leisure-time activities, staying fit, trying out new things, and community experience is crucial for young people with disabilities. Recreational sports prove to be popular, as more than 50% of both girls and boys say they are engaged in recreational sports.

EARLY INTERVENTION IN THE LIGHT OF A RESEARCH
17-32Views:678Nowadays, the number of children with special educational needs (SEN) is increasing, which poses new challenges for both parents and educators. It is therefore important to research this topic from the perspective of parents and professionals. At the beginning of 2019, we conducted a questionnaire survey on early intervention in Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties. The online and paper-based questionnaires were processed by parents (N = 103) and professionals (N = 106) (kindergarten teacher, special education teacher, conductor, etc.), for a total of 209 questionnaires. Data collection was anonymous and participation was voluntary. After processing the data in the questionnaire, we analyzed the obtained results using an Excel spreadsheet and a SPSS statistical program. The results show that both parents (76,7%) and professionals (71.7%) believe that the development of children with SNI was fully or strongly influenced by integration, i.e., they were positively assessed. Parents of healthy children accept integration, in different settings (43.7% of respondents in kindergarten, 37.9% in school, 67% in the playground) fully accept children with special educational needs who accompany their intact child.).

QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEY OF LIFESTYLES HABITS OF FIRST ANNUAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
49-57Views:172In our research, we measured first-year students’ lifestyles, emphasizing sports habits, time spent sitting, and the presence of pain. Our questionnaire is self-reporting. Results show that 75% of the students do some kind of sports as a hobby. Before starting the university, 50% of the students did some kind of competitive physical activity, but by now, 34% of them gave up doing that because of lack of time and possibility. Feeling pain in different parts of the body is frequent, neck and shoulders, zone of the back, and low back. A sedentary lifestyle is frequent, and people do not pay attention to spine protection. Only 35% of the students know the principles of spine protection and only a few of them use it while sitting. We have not found any significant connection between lifestyle characteristics and pain, but our results show the risks of this lifestyle.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MENTAL HEALTH AND LEISURE SPORT
29-40Views:1675Thanks to today’s accelerated world, the number of mental illnesses has multiplied, and chronic stress, lack of self-confidence, depression are all present in people’s everyday lives. Just as physical activity is essential for the existence of physical health, so physical activity is essential for maintaining and improving mental health. The research examines the mental health and sports habits of the next generation. Focusing on stress management ability, the importance of stress relief. Examining the answers obtained, we primarily compare the sports habits of the examined persons with the mental factors in order to explore the connections. During the research, as a primary procedure, we conducted a questionnaire survey, in the framework of which we analyzed the responses of 331 people. 72.3% of young people living in Debrecen chose grade 3-4 (on a scale of 4) when asked about their degree of stress management skills. In the same survey, 52.5% of young adults who do not engage in sports feel that they have good or near-good stress management skills. A 19.8% higher proportion of athletes responded from their experience that they have good stress management skills than individuals who do not engage in sports or rarely do so. Respondents consider helping concentration (rated 5.8 on a scale of 7) and stress relief (5.8) to be the most important positive effects of sport. Respondents, regardless of which category they belong to in terms of sports habits, consider stress relief as a factor affecting mental health in sport. 85% of athletes and 80.7% of non-athletes consider the stress-relieving effect of sport to be important, so the result presents only a 4.3% difference, which is negligible. Yet this can be accounted for as a positive, as non-athletes are also aware of the widely accepted fact that one of the effects of sport on mental health is stress relief.

THE USE OF ENGLISH MEDIA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
49-57Views:190The flow of information in the digital age is facilitated not only by traditional media such as television, radio, and print but also by new media such as the internet, desktops, and integrated computers, tablets, and smartphones, etc. The presence of IT tools is quite common these days among kindergarten-aged children (3-6/7), and even toddlers can use them on a daily basis. Moreover, modern pedagogy is unthinkable without digital devices that have become integral parts of innovations such as game-based learning, media-based learning, and edutainment. There are several language schools and bilingual creches where they accept very young children and babies. It is said that parents know their child best and children spend a lot of time with their parents. In consequence, this provides an excellent opportunity for parents to raise a bilingual child even if it is not his/her first language. In our paper we are combining these two, currently, central issues: the use of English-language media and early childhood language-learning, as only limited research is available about it. We are going to present the results of empirical research carried out mainly in kindergartens in Debrecen, which focused on early second language learning and the children’s use of media. Our research has two goals, so the questionnaires asked parents about the use of foreign-language media, its content and the time children spend consuming English content. In addition, we were interested in the parents’ attitude to their children’s English-language media use. We analyzed our data in the framework of early second language learning. Our research was carried out within the Early Childhood Research Group run by the Faculty of Education for Children and Special Educational Needs of the University of Debrecen. The research was carried out between October 2016 and January 2017.

MOTIVATIONS OF MENTOR CANDIDATES PARTICIPATING IN THE LET’S TEACH FOR HUNGARY MENTOR PROGRAM’S PREPARATION COURSE
21-41Views:440The present study focuses on the role of mentoring in education. The topic of mentoring has increasingly got into the focus of researchers in recent years (Bencsik és Juhász, 2017).In accordance with international practice, the role of mentors in Hungarian public education institutions has become more valuable. In proportion to recognizing its role in education, different mentoring programs have emerged in each type of school. In the present study, our orientation is specifically aimed at the students of the Teach for Hungary Mentoring Program in Debrecen, in order to map the aspects of the motivations of the student mentor candidates in Debrecen. Among other things, we are curious about their emotional and cognitive attitude toward mentoring, and we are interested in the extent (or lack thereof) of their commitment to mentoring. Our aim is to explore, what influences the final decision among students to become a mentor (material, mental resource, etc.) and how these factors interact/relate to each other. In the spring semester of the 2018/2019 academic year, we conducted our research with 151 young students who took part in a theoretical course to become a mentor. The foundation of our research is the questionnaire created by Ceglédi, Szűcs, Hüse, and Berényi (2019), and that form was filled in by a student who applied for a TMO1 course at the beginning of the 2019/20 academic year. Nearly 50% of respondents decided to commit themselves to mentoring, and the other 50% did not undertake mentoral activity for some reason. Based on our results, it can be said that assistance and financial support in the form of scholarship were the main motivating factors for mentors, but the latter was important mainly for male students, nor had the financial aspect primary importance for students with a disadvantaged background in the development of motivation. According to our conclusions, commitment and strong internal motivations play an important role in mentoring, while financial benefits in the form of external motivation can be secondary, but also play an important role in motivation.

STUDENTS FROM ROMA COLLEGES FOR ADVANCED STUDIES IN HAJDÚ-BIHAR COUNTY
41-60Views:202The main objective of the paper is to present students who are members of those kinds of Roma Colleges for Advanced Studies which headquarters can be found in Debrecen. The frame of the study is in connection with research that has been carried out in 2019 and dealt with three Colleges for Advanced Studies with 62 students. The relevance of the topic is given by the fact that by comparing Roma and non-Roma students’ ratio in tertiary education, we can recognize the phenomenon that the proportion of Roma students is still lower. We sought an answer to the question of what factors helped Roma students to achieve success in school. The research questionnaire assessed students’ socio-cultural background, learning motivation, high school experiences, and the ethnic patterns of networks. The theoretical framework of the empirical results is the outcome of the sociological researches that focus on Hungarian Roma children’s educational situation. These were supplemented by the description of the development programs. In the course of analysis, we compare the obtained data with the database of the Hungarian Youth 2016, as a consequence that, we get an idea of the groups of Roma youth for whom tertiary education has become available. One of our research targets includes the comparison of students with or without Roma identity.

ACTIVITY, LEISURE SPORTS
49-58Views:784Nowadays sedentary lifestyle is at the forefront. In our spare time, both passive and active recreational trends and activities appear. The role of leisure sports is getting more and more appreciated among health-conscious consumers. Several studies proved that regular sports activities are projective factors against lifestyle-dependent diseases, so they are excellent means of prevention. Methods: Our study examined the leisure habits of Romanian and Hungarian residents, their activity in sport, their attitude towards active recreation activities, and their openness to new methods. The results were analyzed by using SPSS software. Results: The results underline that passive leisure activities (watching television, listening to music, reading, surfing the internet) are popular in people's lives, although most people live a sedentary lifestyle. People, who exercise in their free time have noticed a number of positive effects on themselves. 80-90% of respondents interested in new methods and would like to take part in sports events at work, at school, or at university.

The Role and Importance of Obstacle Course Training for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
63-74Views:166Aim: In this study, we set out to describe the motor development deficits of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) based on existing research and to provide a methodologically based recommendation for the use of obstacle courses as a motor development tool and opportunity for children with ASD. Methods: a primary research study was conducted to present the results of semi-structured in-depth interviews with parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (N=25). The aim of the study was to provide a comprehensive summary of the experiences of a group of 25 interview participants whose children with autism spectrum disorder participated in an obstacle course movement development programme. The interviews explored the impact of obstacle course movement development on the children's various skills (motor, social, communication and emotional/behavioural). Results: the parents' experiences confirmed that the obstacle course physical activity programme, which was provided for at least six months, was not only effective in developing children's gross motor and fine motor skills, but also led to positive changes in social relationships, social skills, communication skills and emotional behaviour.
