Jelen cikk célja, hogy megvizsgálja, a gazdasági globalizáció és a hajtóérőként mögötte álló technológiai fejlődés miként változtatja meg a monetáris transzmissziót. Az irodalom áttekintése után arra az eredményre jutunk, hogy ezt az egyébként is összetett kapcsolatot még a korábbiaknál is kiszámíthatatlanabbá teszi az integráció fokozódása, erősítve a kamatláb- és vagyonhatásokat, gyengítve a hitelcsatornát és árfolyamcsatornát, különösen ha a devizahitelek vagy a carry trade szerepe jelentős.
