Leadership decision-making is important for the successful functioning of organizations, so it is necessary for leaders to understand the factors that impact their decisions. Decision-making is always the responsibility of the leader, but in a changing world, it becomes an even more crucial factor for success. Making good decisions requires time, experience, and thorough problem-solving skills. In my research, through the analysis of scholarly sources, I have identified several role factors that clearly influence the decision-making process and its implementation. Furthermore, I have developed a self-designed questionnaire to examine the decision-making role in modern organizations. I analyzed the data from 230 respondents using various statistical methods. Based on my findings, conflict management, risk-taking, and a thorough understanding of the problem strongly determine leadership decision-making processes. The ability of leaders to effectively manage conflicts significantly impacts their decisions. Risk-taking is also of key importance, as leaders need to recognize the risks associated with a given situation and make decisions accordingly.

Public services and logistics are generally treated as different fields, but the tools of logistics management with the help of the Unified Services Theory can be used for the benefit of the public services. The aim of this theoretical paper is to generally introduce my topic and relevance of the research on which my PhD thesis will be based in the future. The expectations in the advanced, globalized world are pushing governments to find new methods to fulfil the needs of the citizens while keeping up or even increase efficiency and effectiveness. I believe that from a certain viewpoint the public administration system can be considered as a large scale supply network, and I am particularly interested in how we could apply logistical methods in public services to increase efficiency and effectiveness while simultaneously increase customer satisfaction. In this particular paper I would like to present how I see the connections between the concept of New Public management and the Unified Services Theory. I would like to show the similarities between them and how they could complete each other in order to serve as a background for later logistics related approaches and researches within the domain of public services.

This paper introduces our ongoing research in the field of smart livestock farming. The base idea in this research is to take some industry based concepts, and adapt them into agriculture. In Industry we live the  fourth industrial revolution, which is not a technical, but an organization revolution. So in this concept there are two key ideas, which are digital twin, and digital shadow. This article is about creating digital twin and digital shadow of a modern pig fattener. These models are based on the literature, and are identified on the data shared in these. However, these models can’t be used on real systems before identifying them on the actual circumstances. At this stage of research only digital twin of the product was created, and only some aspects of it. This however can simulate an average porkers feed consumption, weight growth and calculate the weight on certain stages of breeding. Further development is ongoing and our target is to make a fully functional model of a pig fattener.

Business leaders can use several strategic tools to improve the organization, depending on what they consider to be important. The Supply Chain Operational Reference Model (SCOR) is one of these. Its importance is to link business processes, performance metrics, best practices, and technology together and to create a unified structure. It promotes communication between the stakeholders of the supply chain and improves supply chain management and the efficiency of the related supply chain improvement activities. The aim of this study is to find out how the SCOR model appears in the international literature related to warehousing and performance. What methods and tools do authors use to investigate their research questions and hypotheses? Description statistics and category selection were used to present the results of the study. The number of SCOR model researches related to warehouse performance measurments are very rare, it is rather used to describe different processes. In the future, it would be worthwhile to extend the SCOR model analyzes to further fields, especially to warehouse performance measurements.

An organisation (whether it is in the private or in the public sector)knows where it is headed, it has a vision. To achieve this vision the organisation can have a strategy beforehand or the vision can be the result of a continuously improving strategy. The strategy can be developed according to the earlier routines or in a totally new way. Many times failures help to find a solution better than the chain of successes. The lessons learned should inevitably be part of the following cycles otherwise the same issues rise again and again which finally ends in exasperation and giving up. When we create a learning process it is easier to focus on avoiding the obstacles than motivation. PDCA is a well-known method for it but what prevents us from applying it the proper way? What are the obstacles that prevent the organisation from developing through its learning processes?

Nowadays, urban freight traffic is causing significant noise and air pollution, so it is in the focus of green logistics developments, both in technology and system organization. Based on experiences within city logistics, significant problems are caused by the so-called concentrated sets of delivery points, where there are several delivery points with heavy freight traffic in a relatively small area. Since the summer of 2015, we collected lots of data about stores of these delivery points to support the modelling and the simulation of the new green solutions for the examined city logistics systems. Based on our results we can say, there are significant savings in these systems, so it is worth to deal with developing new, gateway-concept-based and consolidation-based solutions.

Globalizálódó világunkban, ahol a KKV-k egyre inkább részeseivé vállnak a nemzetközi piaci versenynek, a klaszterek szerepe a cégek versenyképességének támogatásában meghatározó.

Sustainable Energy Action and Climate Plans (SECAPs) integrate energy and climate issues and include interventions and improvements for the better use of renewable energy sources in transport at municipal level. As a summary it can be stated that exploration of the policy background would needed to influence the use of renewable energy sources for transport and definition of the development goals can help economic organizations to transform their mobility patterns and reduce related carbon footprint.

  • Can the local government in Hungary be the appropriate local level framework for environmental sustainability?
    32-45

During the search for the framework for environmental (respectively social and economic) sustainability, the importance of local action / decision-making has been formulated several times. At the same time, the capability of local government structures is questioned from several aspects. Local governments today are not necessarily a proper legal-administrative framework for sustainable development, for example because the population of a sustainable local community (conceptually) and of a larger settlement (by size) does not coincide. However, the (partly networked) environmental policy system of the municipalities transcends the administrative area of the settlement, where appropriate, a larger area (agglomeration, city areas, etc.), connecting several actors and activities. The paper seeks to clarify this issue in two rather different but interrelating ways. The first approach is geographically rooted and examines the local government system and the spatial structure of the Hungarian state through environmental economics and environmental policy. The second question is about structural links, namely the problems of local governments potential for infrastructure development and the structure of the local economy. The paper concludes that municipal functions - administration, ownership, public service organization - are all concerned with environmental protection. Considering that many of the processes that are relevant to sustainability are taking place in settlements, so serious changes are needed at this level as well. In this context, cooperation between local and central government levels and the active involvement of (local) society can not be dispensed with, but the current mechanisms are hindering progress.
