  • An Analytical Solution for the Two-Layered Composite Beam-Column with Interlayer Slip and Constant Axial Load
    14-31
    Views:
    45

The authors present an analytical solution for the two-layered composite beams with imperfect shear connections. The considered beam is simply supported at both ends. The beam is subjected to transverse and axial loads. The kinematic assumptions of the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory are used. The connection of the beam components is perfect in normal direction, but the axial displacement field may have jump. The shear axial force derived from the imperfect connection is proportional to the relative slip occurring between the layers. The determination of the analytical solution is based on the Fourier method. Two examples illustrate the application of the presented analytical method.

  • An Analytical Solution for Static Problems of Cantilever Curved Beams with Variable Cross Sections

    Views:
    120

This paper gives an analytical method to obtain the deformation of a cantilever curved beam. The curved beam considered has circular centre line and the thickness of the cross section in radial direction depends on the circumferential coordinate. The kinematics of the Euler-Bernoulli beam model is used to formulate of governing equations. The curved homogeneous and isotropic elastic beam is fixed at the one of the end cross section and on the other end cross section is subjected to concentrated forces and a couple. A numerical example illustrates the applications of the derived formulae.

Cities in the north middle east are known for their past and old valuable heritage, with a complex master plan of each one. Homs city is Syria is one of them, it has a history dates back to 2000B.C. with a unique formation of the city. However, the urban area of Homs has a very distinctive characteristics, but unfortunately it suffers from the transportation system operated. The congested and unorganized planning process have led the city to a complete mess and disorders, for all categories of its inhabitants. This study analysis the components of the transportation system, and identifies the greatest issues and problems the inhabitants suffer from, by locating the driving forces and the causes of these issues, and generally asses the quality of the system itself. Therefore, a holistic approach is proposed to improve the transportation system, and suggests some key plans to shift the city to a higher level of development. By locating the strength points, and detect the benefits of these strength points and exploit them. By evaluating the road network and create a new system that mitigates the negative environmental impacts (emissions, noise…) and reduce the crowded gathering of inhabitants, which caused a severe stress in their daily life. Overall, an attempt of implementing a new transportation system to contribute in the development process, and opens the possibility to develop other systems of the city in a sustainable framework.

  • Thermoelastic Problems of Multilayered Spherical Pressure Vessels Subjected to Axisymmetric Loading
    106-115
    Views:
    103

This paper deals with the linear thermoelastic analysis of functionally graded multilayered spherical bodies subjected to constant mechanical and thermal loading. The temperature field is arbitrary function of the radial coordinate, the material properties and the radial body force vary according to power law functions along the radius of the sphere. An analytical method is presented to calculate the displacements and stresses within the multilayered spherical body. The method is expanded to tackle the problem of spherical bodies made from radially graded materials with temperature dependent material properties. The results are compared to finite element simulations and other methods.

In this study, we have dealt with the calculation methods of the eigenfrequencies associated with the bending vibrations of rectangular-shaped beams clamped at both ends. Said eigenfrequencies were determined analytically in the single-degree of freedom model of the beam and the case of the three-dimensional solid and three-dimensional rod models by finite element modal vibration analysis. We presented the calculation method of the characteristics of the analytical model and then calculated the eigenfrequency for a concrete example. We have described the concept of modal characteristics, and in the following, we have determined its natural frequency based on the solid-beam and rod models of the former beam. We calculated and compared the solutions belonging to the models recorded in different ways in 11 additional cases of the presented methods.

  • Comparison of oxidation procedures for removing neonicotinoid insecticides from model solutions

The main objective of this study is to remove three neonicotinoid insecticide agents (thiametoxam, acetamiprid, thiakloprid) from model solutions using ferrate and persulfate-based oxidation techniques. In our experiments, an analytical method was developed for HPLC-MS/MS coupled techniques and tests were performed to determine how the molar ratio of the starting target compound/oxidant affects the degree of removal of the target components.

  • PVC/LDPE Blends: Relationship Between Thermal/Mechanical Properties, Structure and Blend Behaviour

In this paper the effect of LDPE content in PVC foams are examined on the structure of both the foam and the LDPE. We attempt to understand how LDPE content affects the structure of PVC in blends and how it changes the glass-transition (Tg). These parameters often provide important information related to the overall macromolecular structure of the polymer blend. Thermal analytical techniques such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) often used to determine the structural transformation of samples. The effect of the miscibility and composition of the PVC/LDPE foam blends on the thermal stability were also investigated.

This paper deals with the torsion of a body of rotation whose shape is a truncated hollow sphere. The material of the truncated hollow sphere is isotropic, homogeneous and linearly elastic. To solve the torsion problem, the theory of torsion of shafts of varying circular cross section is used, which is introduced by Michell and Föppl. Analytical solution is given for the shearing stresses and displacements. A numerical example illustrates the application of the presented solution. The results of the presented numerical example can be used as a benchmark problem to verify the accuracy of the results computed by finite element simulations.

In our research we improved the technologies for the determinations of greywaters’ detergent content. We examined the quantity of anionic detergent (ANA) in synthetic greywater with Hyamine reagent using two-phased titrimetric method. We added to the synthetic greywater samples phenolphthalein indicator, acid mixed indicator and chloroform. After we shaked the mixture, and we got two separated phase. We titrated the mixture with cation active Hyamine reagent. The quantity of the chloroform and the quality of greywater samples (syntetic and real) were also changed in these experiment to determinate the actual ANA content. It was shown that the applied method is representative and reliable, too.

According to the common understanding of economic science people following their own preferences looking for ractional decisions which might bring the biggest advantage available. General economic models take this pre-condition as an axiom, however while analysing real processes and motivation, human side, ethics and values cannot be ignored. Business ethics has always been part of economics though having a diminishing role occasionally. Current developing movements of conscious consumers reveal the importance of the topic, highlighting personal creed and moral principles. Analytical frameworks incorporating ethical considerations are albeit more complicated hence offer more realistic interpretation of economic activities and therefore practical benefits at the end. Our study is a general review on this phenomenon.

  • Applicability of Optimization Methods in the Design of Automotive Rubber Products

Size, shape or topology optimization are widely used to fulfil the requirements in the design process of rubber products. In many cases, the shape of the product is very complex and comes into contact with other components during operation. It is commonly subjected to large deformation for which the rubber shows strongly nonlinear behaviour. For this complex problem analytical solution is not available, thus finite element method could be used in which the analysis running is a time consuming process. The object of my research is to compare the efficiency and computational cost of different optimization algorithms. This article focuses on the applicability of various optimization methods in the field of automotive rubber goods. Direct search optimization and surrogate model optimization methods will be introduced.

  • Sport Consumption, Fan Engagement, Sport Statistics – Post-specific Passing Characteristics in Football

Digitalization and the explosive development of technology have led to significant changes in football. Due to the increasing amount of data available through various sensors and other data collections, we can observe the rise of data-centric, analytical and statistically oriented thinking in football, which is also of interest to fans. Digitalisation is also closely linked to sports consumption, which is why we have seen significant changes in this area in recent years. The pandemic has further amplified the speed of digital transformation in the sports industry. One of the most important contents for sports organizations and their fans is the in-depth sports statistics and analysis that enhances the consumer experience. In our study, we examined the most common performance indicator in football, passing. Our goal was to examine the position-specific pass characteristics in detail, therefore we also examined different pass properties in our research. As a model for our analysis, I chose the premier league, which has the highest UEFA coefficient. The three rounds (rounds 30-32) of the championship season 2019/2020 have been recorded and analyzed in terms of passes. there was a significant difference between the average number of passes per game between defensive and offensive players (t=7,988, p<0.05). There is also a gradual decrease in the number of passes attempted per match and the accuracy of the pass in the examination of the middle positions when examining the positions in the depth of the pitch. For both pass accuracy and average pass count, the decreasing ranking corresponds to the position of positions on the pitch (order: 1, central defender 2, defensive midfielder 3, inside midfielder 4, attacking midfielder 5, striker). In the value indicator of the position for passes, offensive positions performed more effectively than defensive positions. The extreme positions also stand out among the attacking positions, where in the case of the position value per pass number, 23.3% of the total test was completed and 14% of the amount of the established position value indicators was provided by these posts. Overall, our study points to post-specific pass characteristics and, knowing this, we can state that the comparison of players' passing performance is relevant if the players are in the same or related positions.
