  • THE EXAMINATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES ABOUT THEIR VISION OF FUTURE

     Background and Objectives: the examination of the vision of the future of young people with learning disabilities it rarely comes into the focus of research (Mártonfi, 2011; Móré and Mező, 2016), though the foundation of a successful, happy life is that everyone can realize themselves according to their own goals. The present study deals with the vision of the future of young people with learning disabilities. Our aim is to find out what have life goals and prospects of young people with learning disabilities. Methods:  the participants were youngsters with learning disability attending vocational school (N=46) and their teachers (N=76), and the answers we were evaluated using SPSS, descriptive statistics, and Spearman's rank correlation. Results: The life goals of young people with learning disabilities in vocational schools have a happy life (rs = 0.43), success (rs = 0.45), and work (rs = 0.45), and starting a family is pushed into the background at this age. There is no strong correlation between young people's life goals and further education. According to the opinion of teachers, there is no significant relationship between the success of acquiring a profession and their standing in the labor market. From a life perspective, some educators consider starting a family conceivable for young people with learning disabilities.

    The study deals with a possible new library pedagogic function of school libraries, and the presentation of the library as a development pedagogic arena. The study analyzes the points of synergy between the professions of librarian and developmental pedagogue, the traditional and innovative tasks of elementary school libraries, as well as developmental pedagogic opportunities that appear in the process of teaching-learning, learning development, and information searching. The aim of the study is to show how the school library, as a renewable development-assisting information center, can effectively carry out its mission according to its traditional function, at the same time, expanded with new content that meets the expectations of the 21st century, it becomes an interesting arena to promote the development of student abilities.

    In our study, we discuss the problems of those people who live with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These are - in the beginning - connected to education (learning opportunities, ways to get professional qualifications), then to employability, and to getting a job. Besides all this, in the framework of Human Resource Management (HRM), we also study all the connotations and expectations which regard people who live with Special Educational Needs (SEN). In our opinion, special treatment is not discrimination, but t means equal judgment, support, and help, so it promotes integrating people into society and their development of feeling useful and valuable.

    The study presents the case of a child with learning difficulties born with hydrocephalus focusing on the child’s life-cycle, analysis of personality development, and the ability to develop. As a result of hydrocephalus, typically mental, behavioral, integration disorders develop which significantly affect the individual's quality of life. In this study, we present the possible ways of development through a case study of a hydrocephalus child.

    Goal: Artificial intelligence-based systems, tools, and services have penetrated all areas of life, including education. The aim of this study is to find out the views of future special education teachers on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Method: In research, we surveyed n= 157 students in special education teachers with a questionnaire survey. The results were evaluated by mathematical statistical analysis using SPSS software.  Within the software, cross-tabulation analysis, χ2 test, and frequency analysis were used. Results: only a very small percentage (18.5%) of the prospective special education teachers had encountered tools based on AI and applications during their previous studies. They will prefer to use AI tools outside classroom activities. There is no significant difference in the willingness to use AI in relation to age, 59.7% of those under 24 years and 65% of those over 24 years consider AI tools necessary in special needs education.  However their knowledge about AI applications, tools, and possibilities is very uncertain and limited, and therefore there is a need for a wide dissemination of AI education.

  • THE SHAPING OF PSYCHOMETRIC CREATIVITY AMONGST SECONDAY GRAMMAR SCHOOL STUDENTS IN A FOUR YEAR LONGITUDINAL STUDY

    In this study, we analyze the test-retest reliability of psychometric creativity tests and their connection with intelligence. Sample: n =107 (males: 66; females: 41) secondary grammar school students. Method: in the year 2011 we applied the verbal Unusual Uses and the figural Circles creativity tests, and (as an additional test) the APM intelligence test, and we repeated these examinations in 2014. Results: there are moderate correlations between pre-and posttests (after four years) in the cases of creativity tests (rs = 0,30-0,51) and intelligence test (r = 0,53), too. The students with higher pre-test scores will probably have higher score differences between pre- and post-test than the students with lower pre-test scores (rs = 0,28-0,57).

    The study analyzes the possibilities of career planning of young people with Special Educational Needs in Hungary. This topic seems to be especially relevant, as the process of transforming the vocational education system in Hungary (Vocational Education 4.0, 2020) makes it even clearer that the vocational school appears to be the most achievable secondary educational goal for certain groups of students with Special Educational Needs. Skill workers trained in vocational schools could appear in the labor market as potential employees, however, partly because obstacle-free and automatic employment do not always happen after leaving secondary school. Career planning is a possible solution to the problem outlined. The career planning can be supplemented and intertwisted with the preparation of the Individual Transition Plan for young people with Special Educational Needs.     The current study provides insight into the specificities of dyslexic pupils learning German as a foreign language by measuring their language lexical knowledge. The aim was to explore the nature of dyslexia whilst learning a foreign language. Should we really free all such pupils from the strains of learning a foreign language? Or is it a case of finding the appropriate methodology to learn a new language? The goal is to measure language skills in a foreign language and draw inferences from this. Method: Word association exercises are used to measure the lexical knowledge of children with learning disorders, including dyslexia. Sample: 19 students with learning disorders. Conclusion: The results clearly indicate that we should find pupils’ individual strengths and utilise these, instead of simply exempting pupils from learning foreign languages.
