Szeged Studies 2000-2024. From a quarter of a century of urban research.
83-131Views:226The study presents the methodology of the Szeged Studies research series launched by the Department of Sociology of the University of Szeged in 2000 and the opinions of the city's residents on some key social phenomena. The representative survey research, carried out annually for 25 years, explores the social, environmental and security processes of the city in a multidisciplinary approach. The methodology is based on empirical data collection and field research based on face-to-face interviews and surveys (PAPI, CAPI), in which university students play an active role. In our study, we analyse changes in public trust, public safety, migration attitudes and environmental awareness in a longitudinal and cross-sectional approach. Our results show that over the past 25 years, the overall perception of security among the citizens of Szeged has improved, while concerns about climate change have increased. Overall, attitudes towards foreigners have moved towards acceptance, with fluctuations. Levels of trust in institutions are low, except among older and less educated groups, where they are higher. The aim of this series of studies is to explore the complex factors affecting the functioning of local society and to contribute to the practice-oriented development of sociology education.

Research on learning styles based on Felder-Soloman test
95-112Views:1189In my survey I try to find the answer that how secondary school students study and how teachers can use this information in their lessons when they create lesson plans. Answers of Felder-Soloman learning style questionnaire include how students receive information in the easiest way, how they systematize them and what they need to memorize them. The results are important for both students and their parents. In results of survey we can see that the most of students are visual, concrete, active and analytic, so they are in the inductive group. A fewer of them are verbal, abstract, reflective and global, so they are in deductive group. I know the answer too that parents’ educational attainment, students’ daily school of, career choices and the class do not influence the studying style.
