Organisational Culure and Academic Performance of Technical Management BSc Students
1-11Views:130Our study analyses the connection between perceived and ideal organizational cultures and academic results. A modified, self-managed OCAI questionnaire was used to measure perceived and ideal organizational cultures among engineering management students of the University of Debrecen Faculty of Engineering (N = 114). Our results reveal weak positive linear correlations between academic performance and perceived or ideal level of clan culture. In case of other culture types we did not find any consistent relationship. Based on our results students who consider clan culture ideal can expect better results than those who prefer other types. Among students who visit at least 61% of the classes those who reported fitting (or better fitting) perceived and ideal cultures tend to perform better in their studies.

The use of Partial Least Squares to define the Characteristics in the Environment of Higher Education Institutions and their Effects on Entrepreneurial Academic Education, a case study: Torreon, Mexico
1-14.Views:74Because university incubators have a favorable effect on student’s entrepreneurial intents, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are essential to the delivery of entrepreneurship education. By analyzing the perceptions of students who received master diploma in management-business fields in Torreon, Mexico in 2021, the aim of the research is to identify the internal and external aspects of the HEI environment and their impact on entrepreneurial education using Partial Least Squares methodology with the help of the SmartPLS software, 156 responses from the statistical tool provided 120 responses. Three of the original hypotheses were confirmed, while four variables—two associated with HEI ecosystem external factors and two with entrepreneurial education elements—had to be removed since they were not accepted. The findings will lead to a better comprehension of the elements influencing master students' entrepreneurial perspective to create stronger relationship with elements of the HEI ecosystem.

Vocational Training Students’ Self-Assessment in Higher Education
223-231Views:161This paper is intended to clarify the phenomenon that lower achieving students tend to evaluate their own academic performance less accurately than those who are better in their studies. Former studies have found that lower performers generally overestimate while higher performers underestimate their performance. The current study analyses the self-assessment behaviour and efficiency among Hungarian higher vocational education students. We found that the lowest level of higher education students typically overestimate themselves. Over results strengthen the empirical evidences in former studies that higher-achieving students evaluate their performance more accurately than their lower achieving fellows. Furthermore we found that lower-achieving students tend to evaluate their performance less accurate and typically over-assess their examination results than high-achieving students, who generally evaluate themselves more accurate and rather underestimate. We analysed the difference between the two genders too. Compared to female students, male tend to evaluate their results more accurate and overestimate their own performance more.

Millennium Generation Work Experience
657-665Views:185If we are open-minded in our everyday life, we should not overlook the phenomenon of student work. Within the framework of this study, our aim was to examine the work experience, later employment plans and income needs of students starting their studies at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Debrecen. In addition, we analyze the most important sources related to student work through literature studies.
It is important to pay attention to changing attitudes of newcomers to higher education as they become active job seekers after graduation. At the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen, about 1,700 students started their studies in the 2019/2020 academic year. Our research was conducted with the involvement of these students.
The data were collected among students participating in the stork camp organized by the University of Debrecen. The survey covers, among other things, the initial salary requirements, previous work experience, future plans, including the willingness to work abroad, and factors that are taken into account when choosing a job.

Study on Learning Motivation of Master's Students in Management and Leadership at the University of Debrecen
69-79Views:107The aim of our study is to present the topic of adult learning. To do this, we first define the definitions and importance of learning in a person’s life. We then turn to the historical background and evolution of adult learning. The motivation of adult learning as a function of different motivational theories is presented. In the second half of the study, an initial research focusing on the motivation of adult learning is presented. The subjects of our research are young adults who are pursuing their master's degree in management and organization at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Debrecen. We want answers to the extent to which different factors motivate young adults in studying. With the results, we want to give an idea of how the learning motivation of the students can be characterized by both lecturers and human resource professionals working in the private sector. We intend to expand the research to a larger sample in the future.
