Assimilation and Acculturation Processes in the Study of Inter-Ethnic Marriages
7-21Views:288Inter-ethnic marriages present a captivating arena for examining assimilation and acculturation processes, where individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds merge their identities. This article delves into the dynamics of inter-ethnic marriages in the Turkestan region of Southern Kazakhstan through the lens of assimilation and acculturation theories. Utilizing data collected from 45 interviews across five villages, including Zhana Iqan, Hantagy, Shornak, Turki poselkasy, and Kentau, the study explores various aspects of daily life such as language usage, religious practices, traditions, cuisine, and ethnic values. Research questions probe how individuals negotiate cultural differences in their interactions and interpret multicultural coexistence through assimilation, acculturation, and dissimilation theories. The hypothesis posits three cohabitation patterns -acculturation, assimilation, and dissimilation- equally valid within the same cultural and geographical space. Employing qualitative methods including interviews and surveys, the study uncovers patterns of adaptation and the degree of assimilation or acculturation within relationships. By analyzing data through the prism of assimilation and acculturation theories, the study sheds light on how cultural elements are integrated into daily routines and decision-making processes within inter-ethnic marriages. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how individuals navigate cultural diversity within marital relationships, enriching scholarly discourse on multiculturalism and societal relations.

A THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVE ON THE THERAPEUTIC ROLE OF CHILDREN'S FOLK SONGS
75-81Views:293Starting from the idea that treating a problem is done more efficiently when we address the causes that generated it than when dealing with symptoms, respectively from theories that claim that most of the mental disorders have their roots in the mother-child relationship developed in the early childhood, through the paper entitled A Theoretical Perspective on the Therapeutic Role of Children's Folk Songs we intend to argue the more use of songs from children's folklore in music therapy. Thus, in the first part of the paper, we bring to the attention of the main theories that demonstrate the importance of the mother-child relationship from the early childhood in order to a healthy evolution of the child from the point of view of its psychic development, with special emphasis on their expression through vocal singing. In the second part of the study, we propose to approach the defense mechanisms from the perspective of the positive functions that it performs in the case of normal persons, as a defense mechanism and defense behavior. In the third part of the paper, we present an analysis of the repertoire of songs from the children's folklore from the perspective of the content of ideas, of the structure of the melodic line, of the specific rhythms, as a mirror of the relationships that children develop with themselves and with others, in particular with my mother. In the fourth part of the paper, we argue the use of songs from children's folklore in music therapy in order to trigger certain memories from the first childhood so that the traumas that have not been overcome are then treated properly. The paper concludes with some final considerations.

Indigenous Knowledge and Environmental Governance – A Local Wisdom-Based Approach in Indonesia (Literature Review)
65-79Views:281This paper aims to explore how indigenous communities in Indonesia play an important role in environmental management based on local wisdom that has been passed down through generations. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative research. The data for this study were obtained through a literature review. The method employed is descriptive qualitative analysis, examined through various social, anthropological, and environmental theories. These theories highlight the close relationship between social norms, ecological knowledge, and environmental sustainability. The results of the literature study indicate that various indigenous communities in Indonesia implement sustainable ecological systems through traditional conservation practices, such as the subak system in Bali, sasi for marine and terrestrial resources in Maluku, and prohibitions on indiscriminate tree cutting in Waerebo and among the Baduy community. This system is based on cultural and spiritual values that emphasize the balance between humans and nature. However, the continuity of this indigenous system faces challenges from modernization, the exploitation of natural resources, as well as changes in land use policies and marine environmental pollution. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of legal protection and inclusive policies that recognize the rights of indigenous communities in environmental management. Integrating local wisdom with modern conservation policies is a strategic step towards achieving sustainable development based on the participation of indigenous communities. This study contribute to social cultural and environment areas.

THE REGGIO EMILIA APPROACH TO SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN

This research will discuss several theories from educational psychologists such as Vygotsky, Gardner, Piaget, Bronfenbrenner, Bruner, and Dewey that are used in the Reggio Emilia approach. The Reggio Emilia approach can help special needs children optimize their learning ability, facilitate learning through experience, and give them the opportunity and courage to try something new. Thus, the purpose of this article is to investigate the extent to which the Reggio Emilia approach can aid in the development of special needs children's creativity, as well as to inform the community about the form of early Reggio Emilia education for special needs children.

Effect of Two Instructional (Project And Inquiry ) Strategies on Students’ Achievement in Selected Biological Abstract Concepts
33-43Views:129The purpose of this study was to ascertain how two instructional strategies—project and inquiry—affect students' mastery of particular abstract biological concepts. The study used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design. 120 SS II Biology students were chosen at random from six coeducational schools located in two Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state of Kwara. Treatment groups were assigned to participants at random. The Biology Student Achievement Test (r=0.88) and the Teachers' Instructional Guide on Project and Inquiry Strategies were the instruments utilised. Two theories were developed and put to the test at the significance level of 0.05. The intervention had a significant main effect on students' achievement on a subset of selected biological abstract concepts (F(2, 107) =12.061; p<0.05, partial η2 = 0.184), according to an analysis of covariance conducted on the gathered data. The students in the Conventional Strategy (CS) control group have the lowest adjusted mean achievement values (x ̅ = 17.20), whereas the students in the Project Strategy (PS) treatment group 1 have the highest adjusted mean achievement values (x ̅ = 23.21). It is indicated that PS > IS > CS is the order. The mean growth in accomplishment values for male students was higher at 21.94, compared to 17.13 for female students. Project and inquiry methodologies should be implemented in order to raise students' accomplishment in biology's abstract concepts, according to the findings.

The Role of National Values in Interethnic Marriages in Turkestan
45-58Views:144The present study focuses on the importance of national values in inter-ethnic marriages within the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, specifically in the rural villages of Zhana Iqan, Shornak, Turki Poselkasy, Hantagy, and Sayram. The study explores three primary areas: the significance of preserving national values within inter-ethnic families, attitudes toward marriage involving children of different nationalities, and the participants’ acceptance of the national values and social norms of their spouse. Drawing from 85 interviews and observational data, the analysis presented here examines the role of national values in shaping family dynamics, focusing on Kazakhs as the main ethnic group as well as their cultural integration with Uzbeks, Azerbaijanis, and Russians. The findings highlight how Kazakh values influence family structures and foster adaptive frameworks through cultural blending. Drawing on anthropological and sociological theories, the research demonstrates how inter-ethnic marriages in Turkestan create a dynamic interplay of traditions, promoting unity and coexistence in the region. The mixed-methods approach utilized in the study combines qualitative data from interviews and participant observations with quantitative data, offering a comprehensive view of how these values are preserved and negotiated. The findings open up that national values are not only fundamental to inter-ethnic marriages but also promote mutual understanding, adaptation, and respect between partners from different ethnic backgrounds. Additionally, the study emphasizes the significance of the "dominant spouse" in upholding and negotiating these values, providing insight into how cultural expectations are maintained and adapted within the realities of inter-ethnic family life in the Turkestan region.

Progress should be considered in a dynamic system approach. The system is part of the whole personality of the child, physical and mental abilities, personal and physical environments, etc. The absence, multitude, excess, and unpredictable imbalance of the stimulus can have consequences. The theories of phenomenological thinkers, neuroscience, INPP movement, and psychology research are analyzed.
