UNVEILING INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL STUDENTS’ SOCIAL ADAPTATION IN HUNGARY
95-109Views:187International students who chose Hungary as their study destination must adapt to Hungary’s society. Knowing the social adaptation of international students, especially doctoral students, gave me another perspective on social adaptation in higher education. The study aimed to uncover the social adaptation of international students in Hungary. And to understand how international students adapted to society in Hungary. This study method is qualitative research design, and the instrument of the study was the semi-structured interview. The study also presents descriptive statistics on demographic data. In our sample, there were seven international students who were from Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, and Iraq. interview and demographic data. The language of the interview was English. This study identified eleven categories in the students’ adaptation. They were personality, the first visited place, the first friend, adaptation types, ways to make acquaintances, time adjustment, challenges in social adaptation, factors in social adaptation, setting social adaptation, self-reflection, and unfamiliar activities or new habits.

The Role of National Values in Interethnic Marriages in Turkestan: Insights from Field Research in Five Villages of the Turkestan Region, Kazakhstan
7-23Views:321This study investigates the role of religion in shaping inter-ethnic marriages in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, specifically focusing on five rural villages: Zhana Iqan, Shornak, Turki Poselkasy, Hantagy, and Sayram. With a historically diverse population composed of various ethnic groups—such as Kazakhs, Uzbeks, and Tatars—the region presents a unique case for examining how religious practices influence family life, marriage dynamics, and ethnic integration. Based on 45 semi-structured interviews conducted during the first phase and 40 interviews and observations during the second phase of fieldwork, the study reveals that religion is a central component in everyday family interactions, impacting child-rearing, marital relations, sexual education, and broader social integration. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining qualitative data from interviews and participant observations with quantitative data from structured questionnaires, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of religious practices. The findings highlight that religion not only informs inter-ethnic marital dynamics but also reinforces cultural and familial roles within the broader social fabric. The study contributes to discussions on the intersection of religion, ethnicity, and family life, emphasizing how religious flexibility and adaptation occur in response to practical life challenges. Additionally, the study underscores the role of women within these marriages, particularly in negotiating religious and cultural expectations, thus contributing to the understanding of "lived religion" in diverse social settings.

The Challenges of School Meals in Autism Spectrum Disorders
143-156Views:328Children with autism experience significantly more feeding difficulties compared to their neurotypical peers, which may lead to long-term health risks. School meals for children with autism remain an under-researched area, despite their crucial role not only in nutritional intake but also in the development of social skills, especially for students who require sensory-sensitive and structured environments. These challenges place an increasing burden on families, healthcare systems, and educational institutions. This study aims to propose inclusive and supported school-based practices that promote healthy eating habits and social integration, based on existing literature and empirical experiences, while considering individual needs. A literature review was conducted to identify studies published between 2018 and 2025 that focused primarily on the school eating habits of autistic children and, secondarily, of children with other neurodevelopmental disorders. Using predefined keywords, six relevant studies were selected, which examined eating behaviors, dietary diversity, and influencing factors. Several studies confirm that the eating habits of autistic children can be improved through various interventions, which support the acceptance of new foods, reduce challenging behaviors, and facilitate better adaptation to the school environment. School meals for children with autism present a complex challenge that goes beyond dietary needs, encompassing sensory sensitivities, social interactions, and environmental conditions. A well-structured and supportive school meal program can reduce stress, promote the acceptance of new foods, and enhance students' integration into mealtime settings.

The Role of National Values in Interethnic Marriages in Turkestan
45-58Views:230The present study focuses on the importance of national values in inter-ethnic marriages within the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, specifically in the rural villages of Zhana Iqan, Shornak, Turki Poselkasy, Hantagy, and Sayram. The study explores three primary areas: the significance of preserving national values within inter-ethnic families, attitudes toward marriage involving children of different nationalities, and the participants’ acceptance of the national values and social norms of their spouse. Drawing from 85 interviews and observational data, the analysis presented here examines the role of national values in shaping family dynamics, focusing on Kazakhs as the main ethnic group as well as their cultural integration with Uzbeks, Azerbaijanis, and Russians. The findings highlight how Kazakh values influence family structures and foster adaptive frameworks through cultural blending. Drawing on anthropological and sociological theories, the research demonstrates how inter-ethnic marriages in Turkestan create a dynamic interplay of traditions, promoting unity and coexistence in the region. The mixed-methods approach utilized in the study combines qualitative data from interviews and participant observations with quantitative data, offering a comprehensive view of how these values are preserved and negotiated. The findings open up that national values are not only fundamental to inter-ethnic marriages but also promote mutual understanding, adaptation, and respect between partners from different ethnic backgrounds. Additionally, the study emphasizes the significance of the "dominant spouse" in upholding and negotiating these values, providing insight into how cultural expectations are maintained and adapted within the realities of inter-ethnic family life in the Turkestan region.

STUDENT’S ATTITUDES TOWARDS CHILDREN WITH DISABILITY
7-15Views:1012Several studies have shown that integrated education has advantages in students’ social development and accepted attitude development (Meyer, Park, Grenot-Scheyer, Schwartz & Harry, 1998). The studies about the integrated education had been traced for several decades, our research is based on the CATCH (Chedoke-McMaster Attitudes Towards Children with Handicaps Scale) questionnaire (Rosenbaum, 1985) which instrument had been used in several international studies as well (Tirosh, 1997; Vignes, 2008; Godeau 2010; Bosseart, 2011; De Laat, 2013, Schwab, 2017). Our major aim is to map the adolescent youth, their attitudes towards children with special treatment. The questionnaire was based on the three-component model of attitudes proposed by Triandis (1971). This 36-item, the self-administered scale was primarily paper-based, but our adaptation is placed on the online form. The participants of the study were 7th-grade students (N=99) The overall reliability of the test was satisfactory (Cronbach-α= 0,856). In the content analysis, we found two items that were significantly negative and four items which were not significant, those leaving the KMO= 0,809 (KMO>6), therefore suitable for factor analysis. The results show that, however in our sample, these three-component factors aren’t so clear, the test is reliable. There are some subtests that call for a revision, and we will need further researches to develop our assessment tool to make it more reliable and valid.

Mental Health Challenges of International Students: A Comparative Study of Host and Home Country Support Systems in Ilorin, Nigeria
75-84Views:120With the increasing globalization of education, more students are pursuing academic opportunities outside their home countries. While this offers exposure to diverse cultural and learning experiences, it also comes with significant mental health challenges. International students often struggle with anxiety, depression, academic stress, cultural shock, and social isolation, exacerbated by limited access to familiar support systems. This study explored the mental health challenges faced by international students in Ilorin, Nigeria, comparing the effectiveness of support systems available in both their home countries and host institutions. Adopting a mixed-method research design, the study gathered data from 50 international students and 30 university counsellors through survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative responses underwent thematic analysis to uncover deeper insights into student experiences. This study revealed that international students face major mental health challenges such as academic stress, homesickness, anxiety, and depression. Many are unaware of available support services or avoid them due to stigma, cultural, and language barriers. Instead, they often rely on informal support like peers and religious gatherings. The findings suggest that peer-led and culturally sensitive programs could enhance existing services. Overall, a more inclusive and holistic mental health approach is needed to support the well-being and academic success of international students.

Assimilation and Acculturation Processes in the Study of Inter-Ethnic Marriages

This article delves into the dynamics of inter-ethnic marriages in the Turkestan region of Southern Kazakhstan through the lens of assimilation and acculturation theories. Utilizing data collected from 45 interviews across five villages, including Zhana Iqan, Hantagy, Shornak, Turki poselkasy, and Kentau, the study explores various aspects of daily life such as language usage, religious practices, traditions, cuisine, and ethnic values. Research questions probe how individuals negotiate cultural differences in their interactions and interpret multicultural coexistence through assimilation, acculturation, and dissimilation theories. The hypothesis posits three cohabitation patterns -acculturation, assimilation, and dissimilation- equally valid within the same cultural and geographical space. Employing qualitative methods including interviews and surveys, the study uncovers patterns of adaptation and the degree of assimilation or acculturation within relationships. By analyzing data through the prism of assimilation and acculturation theories, the study sheds light on how cultural elements are integrated into daily routines and decision-making processes within inter-ethnic marriages. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how individuals navigate cultural diversity within marital relationships, enriching scholarly discourse on multiculturalism and societal relations.
