  • Industry 4.0 Concept and Key Elements

Growing and constantly changing international competition, increasing market volatility and demand for increasingly customised products (personalised manufacturing), and shorter product life cycles create significant challenges for companies that traditional production systems can no longer meet. Industry 4.0 is a new manufacturing paradigm focused on creating intelligent products and processes. The focus has been placed on achieving fully effective customised production under conditions suitable for mass production. Make-to-order replaces make-to-stock. Despite the growing interest in Industry 4.0, it is still not a consensual concept. There is no clear idea about this new manufacturing paradigm, so I attempt to present the available definitions of Industry 4.0 through the presentation of the scientific literature, declare the concept's technical elements, and present them in detail to get a clearer picture of the concept.

  • The Investigation Of Heat-Resistant PLA Produced By Additive Manufacturing Technology

In recent years, additive manufacturing technologies have been increasingly used in both custom and small-series production. In such cases, the component must remain functional under realistic conditions.. This means that there must also has a load‑bearing capacity. In many cases, materials are already suitable for strength. However, in many cases (machine parts, outdoor use) the models need to operate reliably at higher temperatures. This seems to be solved by the most widespread additive manufacturing technology (FDM), with a new heat-resistant material, HT PLA. In many cases, the use of cooling is essential during manufacture, especially for parts with high overhangs where hardening of the material is required as soon as possible to achieve the correct surface quality. In this paper, we investigated the effect of cooling applied during manufacturing on the mechanical strength

  • Investigating the Effects of Active Cooling in 3D Printing

3D printing is an increasingly widespread manufacturing process. With the development of machines and materials, the technology is becoming more accessible and easier to use. However, the technology's specificities mean that it requires knowledge of manufacturing technology. In some cases, it is necessary to solidify the freshly deposited layers as soon as possible in the event of large overhangs. This can be achieved by active cooling, which in turn can affect the material properties of the part. This research investigates the effects of active cooling during production.

  • Design and Implementation of BHN Testing Equipment To Measure Remaining Stress Of Wheelset Parts (Tie Rod and Stabilizer Bar)

Nowadays in the automotive industry both production and service, requires accurate lifetime calculations. Today we have big amount of theoretical background and nowadays the importancy of technical and industrial databases become more and more important. By materials scientific and fracture mechanics aspects are well covered, but the remaining stresses which are present in every step of production, we can not clearly identify the origin of them. There are different paralell methods to mesure them, but the application of different methods are depending on the engineers, and their expreiences at the company. This part of the analysis is not standardised yet, so there are differences even in the same company.

  • Optimization of Automotive Industry’s Manufacturing Process with Lean Tools

Lean plays i mportant role in industrial environment. Automotive industries use lean tools in order to reduce cost and i mprove productivity. To achieve the company's objectives and so lve the detected problems I also used lean tools. By using lean tools we want to decrease total process cost (TPC). In order to achieve this target, the three-shift production has to reduce in two-shift production, which result decrease in the human resource costs and production costs. In order to reduce shifts we have to increase overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and eliminate minimum 50% of wastes by implementing 5s methodology, using Poka-yoke and scheduled maintenance.

Due to the continuously evolving technology, even more escalating market competition has emerged between the companies. This competition is not only about the logistics related processes, it also appears to be significant for the production since the manufacturing companies form the center of global sale streams and without them the items found in logistical processes cannot be created. The role of production’s optimization and efficiency in the supply chain continuously grows since this is the part where a company’s most cost is produced. Our research objective was the examination of a company that applies various manufacturing, assembly technologies, and the used tools and softwares for this purpose were the SAP Business One ERP system and it’s add-on, called PPS One, the latter originated in Switzerland. We used these softwares to provide solutions to companies, especially to those that are dealing with manufacturing and production, for the optimization of their workflows, operations, supervising and controlling of their material. We also monitored from production technology’s elements the capacity planning, production orders, schedules, production tracking and cost accounting. We have made proposals during the analysis that might improve the company's strategy, competitiveness and increase it’s efficiency in business, and at the same time they can facilitate the company's pricing and inventory management activities.

This article deals with the quality of the clinch joints. Due to the volume of the production there is a need for the inspection of the joints and the monitoring of the joining process. Different producers give solutions for the inspection and monitoring and these solutions will be introduce through 1-1 example their importance.

  • The green methanol - playing a role in sustainable energy management

Global energy demand is constantly increasing, so the energy sources we use, and the efficiency of energy use are of paramount importance for the future of humanity. Methanol can play a key role in the sustainable use of natural resources, in the efficient and smooth transition from a fossil oil-based energy system as well as in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Long-term thinking will result in an increase in the use of renewable energy sources, which will favour the spread of green methanol technology and thus the use of a carbon-neutral fuel. The raw materials for the production of green methanol may include municipal solid waste, agricultural waste, renewable hydrogen and carbon dioxide and the methanol has many uses, both as fuel and chemical feedstock. It also provides an opportunity to chemically store excess renewable energy from intermittent sources, thereby reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The price of electricity used for electrolysis is the main determinant of the economical production of green methanol, so the reduction of the cost of solar and wind energy greatly contributes to the competitiveness of carbon-based production.

In “Decision support for difficulties in a furniture manufacturing company” titled work we are presenting in detail the operation of a particular furniture company and the difficulties encountered during its operation, which they try to overcome in some way so that they do not hinder the operation of the company. After that, we will show how we wanted to achieve the production support system. In different versions, we detail what we actually wanted to accomplish while showing results that illustrate the evolution of the system. We also present the difficulties of the development, which is made in Java. We also present the latest version of the system and its results. After processing the input parameters, the system is able to produce results using scheduling algorithms that can help in making important decisions during production planning.
