THE APPEARANCE OF THE AUGMENTATIVE AND ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION IN KINDERGARTENS, WHICH ARE SUPPLYING CHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY
35-44Views:373Present study focuses on the appearance of augmentative and alternative communication in kindergartens, which are supplying children with intellectual disability. The augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) makes it possible, that as a result of the injury of the sounding speech or its deficiency the individual be able to express his communicational intention in some kind of manner (Kálmán, 2006). In my research, I examine the opinions and personal experiences about the use of AAC of special education teachers. 21 special education teachers filled out the questionnaire. All of the special education teachers are women and they work in metropolitan kindergartens. The results indicate that the majority of children with intellectual disabilities need AAC. All of the asked special education teachers use the AAC in their work. Most of them use AAC in the course of development. It’s a young discipline, so there are many difficulties with its use.

THE EFFECT OF PICTURE EXCHANGE COMPLEX EARLY INTERVENTION ON CHILDREN’S SOCIAL SKILLS WITH ASD
7-17Views:389In the present research, we were interested in the correlations between the development of cognitive and communication skills, along with musical social abilities in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This was verified by correlation design based on the abilities of ASD children between 11, 3, and 5 years of age. Based on this, we created a complex image shifting early development program that targets the development of cognitive skills and speech through music. We observed using Custom Design what changes this development program results in the children’s socialization. The program consists of 12 occasions, with three children participating in the activities, during which we used our own “Together with Bo!” image shifting tool. Our research reveals that correlations can be recognized between these abilities and that cognitive, communication skills, and musical abilities together with are predictors of social abilities. This is also evidenced by the effectiveness of the development program, as not only targeted skills have evolved, but also socialization. Consequently, we can state that learning through gaming also plays an important role in socialization.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MASS MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION WITH THE PROCESS OF THE DWELLING OF HUNGARIAN IMMIGRANTS IN THE SOUTH OF BRAZIL
57-72Views:85This work aims to answer the questions of, what is the communication and mass media role in the process of settling down in a new landscape through analysis of the publications and communications in the medium newspapers, ranging the year from 1921 to 1989. The main newspaper this research focuses on is the "O Correio do Povo" which is the main local newspaper of the city of Jaraguá do Sul, also the "Jaraguá: Seminarios Nacionalistas" another newspaper that circulated for a few years in the city. Thus, the focus is on reporting and analyzing the newspaper advertisements and reports, to answer the questions of, what is the communication and mass media role in the process of settling down in a new landscape by the Hungarian immigrants in the South of Brazil. Based on archive research, focused on the role of the media in the process of immigration and colonization in Jaraguá do Sul. The timeline range covers the propaganda made for the arrival of Europeans to the south - before 1891 as presented in books -, going through the publications in the local newspapers from 1921 to 1989. Finally, a brief introduction was made about the nowadays publications, reinforcing the role of the newspaper in remembering, which generates questions about its new roles in society under a digital acceleration. The whole analysis brought up also the main values and needs of the community during the first decades, through the portrait of the current in the past, which the newspaper helped to compose. Such aspects will help in the reflection of future analyses on how it was reflected in the local architecture.

The Role and Importance of Obstacle Course Training for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
63-74Views:166Aim: In this study, we set out to describe the motor development deficits of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) based on existing research and to provide a methodologically based recommendation for the use of obstacle courses as a motor development tool and opportunity for children with ASD. Methods: a primary research study was conducted to present the results of semi-structured in-depth interviews with parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (N=25). The aim of the study was to provide a comprehensive summary of the experiences of a group of 25 interview participants whose children with autism spectrum disorder participated in an obstacle course movement development programme. The interviews explored the impact of obstacle course movement development on the children's various skills (motor, social, communication and emotional/behavioural). Results: the parents' experiences confirmed that the obstacle course physical activity programme, which was provided for at least six months, was not only effective in developing children's gross motor and fine motor skills, but also led to positive changes in social relationships, social skills, communication skills and emotional behaviour.

LUANG ISLAND: COASTAL ECOLOGY SYSTEM IN OUTERMOST SMALL ISLANDS (ESCAOSD), MALUKU-INDONESIA
37-55Views:120Coastal communities and their ecology are inseparable units, connected to one another. The Luang Island community is one of the coastal communities on the outermost islands in Indonesia-Maluku Province-Southwest Maluku Regency. Understanding the ecological system of the people of Luang Island is inseparable from how they live their daily lives, which then accumulates into knowledge, habits as well as patterns to regulate their life order through a long historical process of interaction with nature. This knowledge and habits depend on the geographical environment in which they live, in other words, the natural environment also influences the way they act and think. This pattern then plays a role in realizing the harmonization of their lives, to create unique social and cultural conditions which then become their spirit. This spirit can be seen in their daily lives. This study uses ethnographic research with an ecological anthropological approach. Data was collected through literature study techniques, interviews, FGDs, and participatory observation. The data analysis technique used in this research is ethnoecology. The results of this study indicate that the influence between community relations and nature on Luang Island is reflected in the use of everyday language in communication, the ability to express sea areas based on local knowledge, and presenting natural elements into the social culture of the people of Luang Island. The results of this study are useful for ecological studies in the outermost small islands in Indonesia and as a comparison among the forty-eight archipelagic countries in the world, both tropical and non-tropical.

CAN THERE BE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NLP ASSUMPTIONS AND SUBJECTIVE WELFARE?
79-86Views:122This study investigates the relationship between the acceptance of the presuppositions of neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and the level of subjective well-being (SWB), psychological immunity, and assertive communication. The results provide evidence that acceptance of the presuppositions represent a way of thinking that is positively associated with SWB and it is also positively related to psychological immunity. However, no association was found between the acceptance of the presuppositions and assertive behaviour which may suggest that there is a gap between conceptual acceptance and its practical realization.

THE ROLE OF ADVENTURE THERAPY AND ART THERAPY ELEMENTS IN FACILITATING ENCOUNTERS WITH SEVERE AND MULTIPLE DISABILITIES INDIVIDUALS

Physical deformities of the body and face which are highly frequent in this group, lead to subconscious rejection. The lack of verbal communication makes the relationship even more difficult, thus, nonverbal methods are effective in facilitating relationship building. Methods such as nonverbal art therapies are highly popular in creating mutually empowering relationships. Common shared active and receptive artistic experiences as well as commonly solved challenges and other elements of adventure therapy helps to facilitate group processes. In this article, we refer to a pilot project: a special experience-based facultative course about facilitating encounters with adults with severe disabilities with art and adventure-based activities.

ASSESSMENT OF THE ADAPTIVE FUNCTIONING LEVEL OF STUDENTS WITH MODERATE INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY USING THE VINELAND SOCIAL MATURITY SCALE
25-38Views:207Background and aim: Individuals with intellectual disability are expected to have significant limitations in intellectual functioning and adaptive behaviour, which affect the individual's ability to cope with social and practical situations. The present study is concerned with the assessment of the adaptive functioning of young people with moderate intellectual disability, which is part of a more complex study (this study will investigate the impact of adaptive functioning levels of students with moderate intellectual disability on parents' subjective perceptions). Method: the study presents the results of the assessment of adaptive functioning of students with moderate intellectual disability (n=9) using the Vineland Social Competence Scale. Results: the social age of the students in the study is significantly below their age, especially in the areas of communication, socialisation, and self-management. The study confirms previous findings (Hatos, 2008; Radványi, 2001) and highlights the need for teachers of students with moderate intellectual disabilities to develop these skills.

THE MYSTERY OF THE CHILD PLAYING WITH PUPPETS, OR THE PUPPET THAT AMPLIFIES THE SOUL
99-117Views:220According to Teréz Virág (1998) a psychologist with regard to the 'mysteries' of the power of the puppet, three different spheres are worth investigating, namely the mysteries of the puppets, that of the child who plays with the object, and that of the puppeteer's. She views puppetry as creation, the puppeteer as the life-giver, and the puppet as an object of transition. When the aim is to develop the artistic methods as well as explore the 'general utility' of puppetry, it is worth further focusing on segments such as the making of the puppet, acting with the puppet, and perceiving the puppet play. These are three different viewpoints and three approaches. The study presents that the puppet in the child's hand is capable of embodying incomprehensible and insufferable feelings as well as making the unknowable accessible. In pedagogy today puppet play is believed to undoubtedly have a developmental impact, argued for widely with conventions, but it seems that there is still a lack of sincerely understanding of the being of the puppet and its mechanism of action, its principal essence. In my study, I elaborate on the questions of why and how puppet play can be of assistance, and what the puppet can actually mean in the child's hands. The puppet is an object, that makes a motion as it is assuming a role and takes action while portraying this role, it substitutes for someone or something. Being the puppet presupposes a space for the play, in which it takes the place of this someone/something by replacing what it represents. The primary goal of the study is to show that by playing with an object, a puppet lays a bridge in an abstract way between the visible and the invisible world, enabling thus art pedagogy to develop the child with its complex mode of action. The psychological mechanism of identification is best characterized by the eagerness to act, and the artistic genre of puppet play, providing the stage for action, is eminently capable of satisfying this urge. In the creative process, the approach of animation, the metaphorical thinking of the puppeteer, the abstraction as well as the development of the related assertive skills rely on all the operations of thinking; also, the simultaneity of the multi-lateral perception, the complex interpretation of communication play important roles.

CREATIVE TEACHING OF ASTRONOMY IN PRESCHOOL AND PRIMARY EDUCATION
53-68Views:135The article presents a study of the relevance of the application of creative methods of teaching astronomy in preschool and primary education in Uzbekistan, especially in the context of the modern development of science and technology. During the study, methods for creative teaching of astronomy were developed and described, aimed at shaping children’s ideas about the modern scientific astronomical picture of the world. The article analyzes the results of pedagogical experiments, which proved that creative teaching of astronomy significantly increases children’s interest in science and contributes to the development of their creative thinking and potential. The main principles of creative teaching of astronomy in preschool and primary education are games, experiments, communication, creativity, and the use of various visualization tools. These methods and principles help children to better understand the theory and scientific facts and enable them to participate in activities. Thus, this article can become the basis for the development of new methods and approaches to teaching astronomy in preschool and primary education, as well as for improving the effectiveness of existing methods.

THE PEDAGOGICAL EXPERIMENT OF MONTESSORI-CONDUCTIVE EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE 2000-2003
11-23Views:339The researchers call Montessori's pedagogy developer or development pedagogy. In the past decade, in Hungary, it appeared as a development pedagogy in the pedagogical practice. The conductive education is a special, complex pedagogical method [6] because it takes into consideration special educational needs in planning and implementation. We can view Mária Montessori's method as a development pedagogical method because it's suitable for children with special educational needs. Her pedagogical work began with children with intellectual disabilities. The Montessori development method has not yet occurred in conductive education. With our research, we wanted to broaden the use of the Montessori method in the practice of special education and development pedagogy. We wanted to confirm the similarity and difference of the holistic approach of the two doctor-pedagogues. It's explicable with Pető's holistic approach, why didn't entrust the development of perception, speech, motion, and communication difficulties to people working in different places and time. We introduced the Montessori conductive educational practice experimentally in the semesters of 2000-2003 and 2007-2008, in accordance with the student's college education. The purpose of the program was to demonstrate the practical application of the elements of the two methods and their coordinated operation.
