  • The Role and Importance of Obstacle Course Training for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

    Aim: In this study, we set out to describe the motor development deficits of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) based on existing research and to provide a methodologically based recommendation for the use of obstacle courses as a motor development tool and opportunity for children with ASD. Methods: a primary research study was conducted to present the results of semi-structured in-depth interviews with parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (N=25). The aim of the study was to provide a comprehensive summary of the experiences of a group of 25 interview participants whose children with autism spectrum disorder participated in an obstacle course movement development programme. The interviews explored the impact of obstacle course movement development on the children's various skills (motor, social, communication and emotional/behavioural). Results: the parents' experiences confirmed that the obstacle course physical activity programme, which was provided for at least six months, was not only effective in developing children's gross motor and fine motor skills, but also led to positive changes in social relationships, social skills, communication skills and emotional behaviour.

    Every family seeks encouragement for their spiritual and sociological growth. This article brings research among 30 members of the Agnus Dei family community. We explored the impact of the biblical text, in particular, the Gospel of Mark on married couples who encounter daily difficulties in raising children, but also in the personal upbringing of adults. The researcher of this article was inspired by the characters of the holy family: Joseph, Mary and Jesus. Jesus ’upbringing in Nazareth and the boy’s upbringing enabled his parents’ personal spiritual formation. That part makes up the first part of the paper. It is followed by a survey among members of the Agnus Dei family community. Research has shown that there is a great interest in God’s word. Throughout the year, attendees had the opportunity to listen to commentaries on the Gospel of Mark. In addition to certain exercises, they applied instructions to daily life. The results showed that their family community was re-formed by the word of God. They felt an improvement in interpersonal relationships in the family but also in the community. The Nazareth school actually became a stimulus for all participants in catechesis.  Biblical methods in raising a family indicate positive results.

    Coastal communities and their ecology are inseparable units, connected to one another. The Luang Island community is one of the coastal communities on the outermost islands in Indonesia-Maluku Province-Southwest Maluku Regency. Understanding the ecological system of the people of Luang Island is inseparable from how they live their daily lives, which then accumulates into knowledge, habits as well as patterns to regulate their life order through a long historical process of interaction with nature. This knowledge and habits depend on the geographical environment in which they live, in other words, the natural environment also influences the way they act and think. This pattern then plays a role in realizing the harmonization of their lives, to create unique social and cultural conditions which then become their spirit. This spirit can be seen in their daily lives. This study uses ethnographic research with an ecological anthropological approach. Data was collected through literature study techniques, interviews, FGDs, and participatory observation. The data analysis technique used in this research is ethnoecology. The results of this study indicate that the influence between community relations and nature on Luang Island is reflected in the use of everyday language in communication, the ability to express sea areas based on local knowledge, and presenting natural elements into the social culture of the people of Luang Island. The results of this study are useful for ecological studies in the outermost small islands in Indonesia and as a comparison among the forty-eight archipelagic countries in the world, both tropical and non-tropical.  

  • COOPERATION OF ROMA COLLEGES FOR ADVANCED STUDIES IN HAJDÚ-BIHAR COUNTY WITH SECONDARY SCHOOLS

    The main objective of the paper is to present students who are members of those kinds of Roma Colleges for Advanced Studies which headquarters can be found in Debrecen. This is framed by a 2019 research that consisted of three parts. Based on the results of a questionnaire survey of the students of the three Roma Colleges for Advanced Studies operating in Hajdú Bihar county, an interview with the leaders of the three Colleges for Advanced Studies, and concerning the student questionnaire survey, we visited the high schools from which two or more students came to the Colleges for Advanced Studies, as such interviews were carried out with nine school principals and six mayors. In this study, we present interviews conducted by the school principals. Where it is possible, we rely on the responses received in each part of the research – we compare and analyze them. We primarily sought the answer to the question of how Roma Colleges for Advanced Studies help Roma students to be admitted in tertiary education. Based on the answers received, it can be claimed that the Colleges strive to keep in touch with the secondary schools, and in some cases, they involve students and their teachers in the programs organized by them. There is no program that specifically aims to help secondary students concerning the admission of tertiary education The Colleges for Advanced Studies help roma students mainly by providing information. They try to dispense the information through the personal involvement of the students.

  • Experiences of School Social Work in the Light of Research

    In the last twenty years, school social work has received increasing attention both in Hungary and internationally, and there is a growing need for the presence of a social professional in educational institutions. Since the mandatory introduction of the service, several empirical and theoretical studies have been published on the subject, which report on the practical experience and the insights of the professionals. In our research question, we looked for the answer to the experiences of the operation of school social work, in studies that were born in the first three years of the mandatory introduction. The selected six studies were analyzed on the basis of three aspects which is the integration of the social worker in the institution, the number of hours spent by the social worker at the school and the characteristics of the development of professional collaborations. The document analysis reveals that the social worker's personality, clear competence boundaries, the number of hours spent in the institution and the level of interprofessional cooperation have great importance for the integration of professionals into educational institutions. The present study aims to contribute to the theoretical foundations of a comprehensive empirical study of the current functioning of Hungarian school social work.

    This research project will explore migrant workers’ experiences with the patronage-based kafala system in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. While many research attempts have delved into disclosing the restricted and exploitative aspects of the varying experience of the migrant workers, there is still a dearth of attempts that explore the way the migrant workers flexibly and strategically employ their multiple and intersecting identities to seek upward professional and social mobility. Through the implementation of an intersectional and actor-centered approach, and the use of a qualitative design, this project seeks to explore the dynamic interaction between migrant actors and representatives of institutions in Jordan. By pursuing a qualitative and intersectional analysis of the migrant workers’ experiences with the kafala system, the project aims to contribute to a better understanding of the interplay of transborder mobility and institutional dynamics.

    In our research, we studied the leisure habits of students with disabilities (8-18 years, n = 289) living in the North Great Plain region using a questionnaire method. The aim of the research was to examine the leisure habits of children with disabilities in the region, their main characteristics, and their recreational attitudes. Our goal was also the gender test to see whether there was a significant difference between the sexes and how this correlated with the results of the study of leisure habits in the wild. We sought to find out what the most common leisure time activities for general and high school students with disabilities are, how does this affect genders? What is their attitude towards spending time on leisure? What are their sporting habits and sporting consumption? We have found that the recreational consumption of young people with disabilities is similar to the results of surveys carried among normal children as passive leisure time is dominant (listening to music, watching TV). In girls' leisure time, the preference for listening and reading is more dominant while watching TV, especially popular sports channels are more characteristic of boys. For leisure-time activities, staying fit, trying out new things, and community experience is crucial for young people with disabilities. Recreational sports prove to be popular, as more than 50% of both girls and boys say they are engaged in recreational sports.

    Thanks to today’s accelerated world, the number of mental illnesses has multiplied, and chronic stress, lack of self-confidence, depression are all present in people’s everyday lives. Just as physical activity is essential for the existence of physical health, so physical activity is essential for maintaining and improving mental health. The research examines the mental health and sports habits of the next generation. Focusing on stress management ability, the importance of stress relief. Examining the answers obtained, we primarily compare the sports habits of the examined persons with the mental factors in order to explore the connections. During the research, as a primary procedure, we conducted a questionnaire survey, in the framework of which we analyzed the responses of 331 people. 72.3% of young people living in Debrecen chose grade 3-4 (on a scale of 4) when asked about their degree of stress management skills. In the same survey, 52.5% of young adults who do not engage in sports feel that they have good or near-good stress management skills. A 19.8% higher proportion of athletes responded from their experience that they have good stress management skills than individuals who do not engage in sports or rarely do so. Respondents consider helping concentration (rated 5.8 on a scale of 7) and stress relief (5.8) to be the most important positive effects of sport. Respondents, regardless of which category they belong to in terms of sports habits, consider stress relief as a factor affecting mental health in sport. 85% of athletes and 80.7% of non-athletes consider the stress-relieving effect of sport to be important, so the result presents only a 4.3% difference, which is negligible. Yet this can be accounted for as a positive, as non-athletes are also aware of the widely accepted fact that one of the effects of sport on mental health is stress relief.

    This study investigates the probation service system on a theoretical level and its’ efficiency in the view of juvenile offenders on a practical level. In this qualitative research, we made semi-structured interviews with 10 youthful protegees and 15 underaged from the reformatory, who has already been part of the probation system. We discuss parts of the research that are adequate on the subject of the study. Based on the interviewees’ experiences of the probation service we tried to collect suggestions to increase the efficiency of the probation service.

    This article pertains to the relation between high sensitivity and test anxiety. The timeliness of this study comes from the observation that although more and more research is being conducted on high sensitivity abroad, high sensitivity as a character trait has not been researched in Hungary, especially in relation to the special treatment highly sensitive children may require. In this study, the main research question is whether a higher level of sensitivity correlates positively with a higher level of test anxiety. Sample: 133 persons (attributes: Mage=15.3; gender distribution 25.56% boys, 74.44% girls; grade distribution 78.95% 9th grade, 21.05% 10th grade). Method: a questionnaire package completable anonymously online made up of 3 questionnaires. The questionnaires used were a self-constructed demographic questionnaire, the TAI-H questionnaire to measure test anxiety (Sipos, Sipos & Spielberger, 1988), and the HSPS-H questionnaire to measure sensitivity (Aron, 1999, transl. Komjáthy, 2011; Pluess, 2013). Results: students showing a higher level of sensitivity show significantly higher test anxiety levels than their less-sensitive peers. Conclusions: considering that (alongside multiple other factors) the given character trait of high sensitivity can influence test anxiety levels and conclusively also performance, it would be advisable to take students’ sensitivity into account in teaching practice.

    A number of methods have evolved for assessing our health in parallel with the expansion of scientific knowledge. Medicine describes our health through objective methods and measurable variables. Of course, we also have an image of our own state of health, which, for all its subjectivity, is a good indicator of our physical and mental processes. Our sense of health can be a genuine reflection of our state of health, which directly and indirectly affects our professional/academic performance. We have a constantly expanding knowledge of the beneficial effects of the increase in physical activity on health, and its mechanism of action can be interpreted from a number of aspects. The examination of the health and physical activity of the secondary school age group provides useful information for individuals, parents, and those working in the field of education (education policymakers and educators). In this research, we examined the relationship between the level of physical activity (relative to the recommendations of WHO) and the sense of the health of high school students, their school performance, and the appearance of various emotional factors. Then we complimented it with a study of the motivational background for those aged 14 to 18. During the analysis, we identified a significant link between high levels of physical activity and the high quantified value associated with the sense of health. We found no significant correlation between academic performance and physical activity levels. We experienced a significant relationship between emotional factors when comparing the categories of happiness, mood, energy, as well as sadness, and fatigue with physical activity. Among the motivators for exercise, the improvement of physical condition is prominent, and this age group clearly rejects the expectations of others. It is also instructive for those working in the field of physical education that the experience of exercise is critical for members of the age group.

  • THE EFFECT OF PICTURE EXCHANGE COMPLEX EARLY INTERVENTION ON CHILDREN’S SOCIAL SKILLS WITH ASD

    In the present research, we were interested in the correlations between the development of cognitive and communication skills, along with musical social abilities in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This was verified by correlation design based on the abilities of ASD children between 11, 3, and 5 years of age. Based on this, we created a complex image shifting early development program that targets the development of cognitive skills and speech through music. We observed using Custom Design what changes this development program results in the children’s socialization. The program consists of 12 occasions, with three children participating in the activities, during which we used our own “Together with Bo!” image shifting tool.  Our research reveals that correlations can be recognized between these abilities and that cognitive, communication skills, and musical abilities together with are predictors of social abilities. This is also evidenced by the effectiveness of the development program, as not only targeted skills have evolved, but also socialization. Consequently, we can state that learning through gaming also plays an important role in socialization.

  • USING DIFFERENT TEACHING STYLES AND THE IPOO MODEL

    Quality PE teaching requires the application of a wide variety of both direct and indirect teaching methods. The aim of our research is to examine the efficiency of teacher-centered (DM) and student-centered (IM) methodology in accordance with the IPOO model (Mező, 2011) in all fields of sports education. The action research was carried out in year five in two classes (n=46): the focus was on developmental aims in handball prescribed in the curriculum. On the basis of the IPOO model lessons in the DM (sample) and IM (control) classes were held through 4 weeks, 2 lessons a week. Students’ motivation in PE was examined with H-PMCSQ-2 questionnaire during the last lesson; while basic technical handball skills were examined before and after the experiment. Results show that indirect teaching methods have a more complex educational effect; it could influence important cognitive and affective domains.

       ABOUT MEASUREMENT OF SOCIAL INTEGRATION IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

    This paper reports official data about the well-known EU migration crisis and examines the methods used to evaluate the social integration of third-country migrants into the European Union. I argue that the Zaragoza indicators, – which are currently being used – cannot include all the aspects of migrant integration, and because of this deficiency, they are not able to track the ongoing integrational processes correctly for experts and decision-makers. To demonstrate and prove this argument a comparative analysis is performed in the article. I compare data about six countries (United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands, France, Belgium, and Switzerland) from two data sources: the Zaragoza Indicators and the EurIslam research. The EurIslam research is a complex social-scientific project for examining the relation between Muslim migrants and their host societies and its overall considerations could make the future extension of Zaragoza indicators possible.

    Most of the Roma settlements in Croatia are spatially segregated from the settlements of the majority population. Specific cultural elements constitute the ethnic border towards the local population, making it difficult and reducing the possibility of their integration into the majority population. One of the results of that segregation is the unfamiliarity of the Roma children with the language of the majority population. This unfamiliarity with the Croatian language is a big obstacle for the integration of the Roma children into Croatian society through school education. Starting from Grade 1 they follow the regular school curriculum. Two of the subjects that are taught from the very beginning of their primary school education are Natural Science and English as a foreign language. In this paper, the authors present the results (statistical analysis and discussion) of their research study. It compares the familiarity of Roma and Non-Roma Grade 4 children (age 10) with some biological terms in English as a foreign language. Based on the results of their research, the authors suggest modifications of the school curriculum for Roma children that would enable their better school achievement and subsequently their easier integration into Croatian society.

  • COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF DISABILITY ATTITUDE FORMATION PROGRAMS THAT CAN BE USED IN PUBLIC EDUCATION

    Social sensitization created in an organized form can be an extremely powerful tool for society to become more accepting of different disabilities, and all of these can also support the more effective social integration of people with disabilities. Rejection or distancing can mostly be the result of a lack of information, so if society gets more insight and information about all this, a higher degree of acceptance can be assumed. In recent decades, the number of programs and events that set this goal has increased spectacularly. Based on the conclusions of international attitude surveys, it can be formulated as an essential variable the quality and quantity of information the respondent has about the given group, whether there is a person with a disability in his microenvironment, whether he has already established an interaction with them, and also the impulses received from the immediate environment, the family values can be an influencing factor. The foreign research on the subject also points out that attitude formation started at an early age can be really effective, and that the impulses received in institutional education can largely determine the attitude of students towards their peers with disabilities. After summarizing the international and domestic attitude research, an analysis of sensitization programs available in Hungary within the framework of institutional education, which may be suitable for shaping attitudes towards disability, was carried out with the help of a system of criteria compiled along these lines. The aspects of the analysis include how many types of disabilities are included, which age group the program is suitable for, with what intensity and how many times participation is possible, the nature of the knowledge transfer, and whether it is possible to come into contact with a disabled person, thus giving the opportunity to gather personal experience. The aim of the analysis is to compare the available programs with the results of foreign attitude surveys to identify the most optimal and widely applicable sensitization programs.

    Inter-ethnic marriages present a captivating arena for examining assimilation and acculturation processes, where individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds merge their identities. This article delves into the dynamics of inter-ethnic marriages in the Turkestan region of Southern Kazakhstan through the lens of assimilation and acculturation theories. Utilizing data collected from 45 interviews across five villages, including Zhana Iqan, Hantagy, Shornak, Turki poselkasy, and Kentau, the study explores various aspects of daily life such as language usage, religious practices, traditions, cuisine, and ethnic values. Research questions probe how individuals negotiate cultural differences in their interactions and interpret multicultural coexistence through assimilation, acculturation, and dissimilation theories. The hypothesis posits three cohabitation patterns -acculturation, assimilation, and dissimilation- equally valid within the same cultural and geographical space. Employing qualitative methods including interviews and surveys, the study uncovers patterns of adaptation and the degree of assimilation or acculturation within relationships. By analyzing data through the prism of assimilation and acculturation theories, the study sheds light on how cultural elements are integrated into daily routines and decision-making processes within inter-ethnic marriages. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how individuals navigate cultural diversity within marital relationships, enriching scholarly discourse on multiculturalism and societal relations.

    The aim of our present theoretical study is to explore and present the sport policy measures and marketization processes within the Hungarian sport and football that started and has been going on as a result of neoliberal thinking in our country since the change of the political regime (1989/90). In our paper, we are looking at these potential causes based on the research findings and studies that have emerged in this topic. Our goal is to find the events that triggered changes from 1945 onwards, which could have led to changes in the sport policy processes and possible paradigm shift. Our goal is to focus on the sport of football in sports politics and to look for links in connection with the football academies.  Our study has several chapters. In the first major part, we review the situation of the Hungarian sport in the light of sport policy changes from 1945 until the change of the political regime and the following years. In the second major chapter, we survey the major sports policy measures and related changes in football during the same era. In the third subsection of this chapter, we discussed the major political changes in football academies in a separate subchapter. As a result of our research, it has turned out that the change of the political regime brought up significant political changes both in sports and properly in the field of football. The major change could be the marketization process with which our country's football started to follow western patterns. The widespread dissemination of football academies can be explained with a set of political decisions. Even though they have been working for almost 17 years in Hungary they can not fully justify their legitimacy.

  • Data-Driven Music Therapy: Application of the Model in the Development of Children with Special Educational Needs

    Data-based music therapy is associated with the name of Suzanne B. Hanser (1999), a music therapist from California, who supported the developmental effect of music with the results of her clinical research. Her publication entitled The New Music Therapist's Handbook is a guide to the organization, planning, implementation, and evaluation of this music therapy model. Since data-based music therapy is an objective, clear and goal-oriented model. There is an indispensable part of this model and basic conditions in the application of it in the precisely defined preparation, intervention and measurement moments. However, strict planning and organization become the main virtue of the model when evaluating the results achieved, as it provides accurate and irrefutable results. The data obtained this way, represent the totality of the results of observations and experiments.The main pillars of the model are the following: observation, goal-oriented planning, implementation, and objective measurement. An objective and completely clear evaluation of music therapy is provided by the measurements specified in the model. The calculation of the reliability rate and its expression as a percentage, as well as the baseline observation, are complemented by the narrative report of the music therapy supervisor with a description and evaluation of the achieved musical and non-musical therapeutic goals. This article  to present describes the application of data-based music therapy in the case of a juvenile with special educational needs studying in special educational institutions.

    The current paper aims to shed light on the problem of Roma students' school performance through the perception of teachers. We examine the phenomenon at the level of locality, relying on qualitative research methodology. The empirical data collection was carried out at the István Király Baptist Primary School in Kótaj, in the county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, during which semi-structured interviews were recorded (N=15).

    The importance of physical activity is increasingly recognized by many people, both laymen, and professionals. Regular exercise at all ages contributes to strengthening the different dimensions of health. Ideally, physical activity is integrated into our lives from an early age, however, based on public health indicators, unfortunately, the opposite trend is to be seen in Hungary. One of the most striking features of demographic processes is the continuous increase in the number and proportion of the elderly population. In an ageing society, it is crucial to maintain good health conditions for people over 65 for the following reasons: to improve the quality of life of the individual, to reduce health expenditures, and because of the inevitably increased number of elderly in the labour market. National demographic changes are just as characteristic in Hajdúböszörmény, so it is worth examining the components of the physical activity of the local population. The aim of our research is to explore the characteristics of exercising related to work, transport, household work, and leisure sports. Unfortunately, as well as the amount, the quality of the population’s time spent exercising is below international recommendations. Mapping the exercising motives of the elderly confirmed our assumption that the preservation of physical and mental health is the main drive behind the activity of the target group.

    The topic of this study is implementing a globally available, centralized knowledge base, which can be accessed and searched online via a brain interface for everyone. Our goal is to describe this plan, first analysis from the side of society. After this, we try to present how the actual form of this knowledge base was developed from the Time Begins to the present. At the end of the study, we describe two ways: the most pessimistic and the most optimistic ones, their odds, and the facts which increase the realization of odds.  This study was carried out at the University of Debrecen, in the „Time capsule 2016+20” project as part of the Program for Talented Students (DETEP) program. The supervisor is Ferenc Mező Ph.D.

  • INVESTIGATING THE WILLINGNESS TO USE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION AMONG STUDENTS OF SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS

    Goal: Artificial intelligence-based systems, tools, and services have penetrated all areas of life, including education. The aim of this study is to find out the views of future special education teachers on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. Method: In research, we surveyed n= 157 students in special education teachers with a questionnaire survey. The results were evaluated by mathematical statistical analysis using SPSS software.  Within the software, cross-tabulation analysis, χ2 test, and frequency analysis were used. Results: only a very small percentage (18.5%) of the prospective special education teachers had encountered tools based on AI and applications during their previous studies. They will prefer to use AI tools outside classroom activities. There is no significant difference in the willingness to use AI in relation to age, 59.7% of those under 24 years and 65% of those over 24 years consider AI tools necessary in special needs education.  However their knowledge about AI applications, tools, and possibilities is very uncertain and limited, and therefore there is a need for a wide dissemination of AI education.

    The main objective of the current paper is to examine the different kinds of levels of interaction, culture, interethnic marriage, linguistic features and some sort of traditions of people of various nationalities who live in the south part of Kazakhstan. Quantitative and primarily qualitative methods were used in the research process.
