Experiences of School Social Work in the Light of Research
19-30Views:84In the last twenty years, school social work has received increasing attention both in Hungary and internationally, and there is a growing need for the presence of a social professional in educational institutions. Since the mandatory introduction of the service, several empirical and theoretical studies have been published on the subject, which report on the practical experience and the insights of the professionals. In our research question, we looked for the answer to the experiences of the operation of school social work, in studies that were born in the first three years of the mandatory introduction. The selected six studies were analyzed on the basis of three aspects which is the integration of the social worker in the institution, the number of hours spent by the social worker at the school and the characteristics of the development of professional collaborations. The document analysis reveals that the social worker's personality, clear competence boundaries, the number of hours spent in the institution and the level of interprofessional cooperation have great importance for the integration of professionals into educational institutions. The present study aims to contribute to the theoretical foundations of a comprehensive empirical study of the current functioning of Hungarian school social work.

ACCEPTANCE, EMPATHY, AND SPECIAL TREATMENT IN THE HARRY POTTER NOVEL SERIES
83-98Views:80The study provides an overview of the portrayal and role of acceptance, empathy, and special treatment in the Harry Potter-series. The focus of the analysis revolves around the depiction of four different attitudes, which manifest in the relation between humans and magical objects, magical creatures, humanoid beings, and other humans. These four attitudes are represented by four main characters and are exemplified through their actions. The four attitudes are indifferent-passive, rejecting-active, accepting-active, and responsible-active. Due to their magical nature, the objects of the examined attitudes operate differently from what is expected by everyday logic, their needs and behaviors deviate from conventional societal norms, and they can even be intimidating and hazardous. The study illustrates how the novel series encourages readers to engage in the community through various examples and highlights the development of the underlying theme that the most powerful magical force is love, thus deserving acceptance, empathy, or special treatment by everyone. This contributes to the enhancement of readers' emotional intelligence and empathy skills, fostering the acceptance of diverse perspectives.

INEXPLICABLE BEINGS, PHENOMENA, AND EVENTS, CATEGORIZED AS MYTHOLOGICAL, AMONG THE PEOPLES OF THE SOUTH SLAVS: COLLECTIONS OF FOLK TALES, INTERVIEWS WITH STORYTELLERS AND MYTHOLOGICAL BEINGS IN MODERN NOVELS
135-148Views:215This article contains the basic structural features of a same-named Ph.D. research thesis. The main tasks of the research are to identify three focal fields with mythological elements, whether they are phenomena, objects, people, or creatures that some believe and others doubt exist. These focal fields are found in various collections of folk stories, and contemporary literary texts as well as in interviews with storytellers. However, the focus of this article is primarily on the introductory story and on providing the background of the general idea. The goal is to acquaint the readers with the background that explains the origin of the mentioned stories among the people. It talks about death, man’s natural fear of it, and the world of the paranormal, religious, and mythological, which combined create inexplicable phenomena that contradict the rational reasoning of man. One of the hypotheses of the research itself is to understand why this phenomenon is still present in the human community and what benefits it brings. Furthermore, the methodology used in the research includes a comparison and contrast of information between folk stories and contemporary literary works. In addition, the most important research method used is the interview technique with the aforementioned storytellers with strategically selected persons who are assumed to possess quality information.

The Vampire as the Mythological Creature in the Cinematography of South Slavic Countries: Vampire in Films “Leptirica” and “Holy Place” - Folkloric Juxtaposition
83-96Views:109Mythological creatures have enchanted and intrigued human beings for ages, and humans unconsciously stimulated their fears and insecurities. People have created a vampire-paranormal obsession that is reflected in everything that human creativity has touched, especially in film adaptations. In this article, readers will see the representation of the mythological creature Vampire on the Serbian film screen. The article dissects two selected films, “She-Butterfly” and “The Holy Place” from the vampire-induced horrors of the South Slavic cinematography. They will representatively be the focus of the study. These examples will reveal how the film of that time conjured up the horror, fear, and general aura of the mythological creature Vampire that has haunted the human race for centuries. In contrast to film representations, the author places a vampire from folklore as a pillar for comparison or a test sample to analyze the similarities, differences, and credibility of the representations in the film. Regarding the supportive material, we will extensively rely on the "Serbian Mythological Dictionary" as it provides a solid collection of various folk explanations and descriptions, which we will use for comparison. The methodological approach includes a description of the film plot with important elements, the analysis of the mentioned elements of interest within separate important parts of the plot, and a comparison with a folklore vampire within the analysis.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAY - THE USE OF GAMES BY SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS TEACHER AND MAJORITY TEACHERS IN LESSONS
7-26Views:1131Nowadays, the priority task of pedagogy is to develop skills and basic competencies, because these are necessary for a successful teaching-learning process. In contrast to the traditional frontal education, which the learners treat as a passive recipient. The current education places more and more emphasis on exploration, action-based learning, and knowledge acquisition based on one's own experiences, which can be based on play and playful activity. Gameplays a key role in the development of skills and personality, so in this research, we examine the role of game in the teaching of typical and learning disabilities children. During the study, we used an online questionnaire, which was sent to special educational needs teachers and the majority of teachers working in schools in Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties (N = 102 people). The distribution of the answers was even for each grade and school type, so we were able to form groups of 25 and 26 people. Our results reflect a different teaching method because special educational needs teachers use games much more often in their work and spend much more time on them compared to the majority of teachers. Special educational needs teachers attribute much more developmental effects to the game, so they use it more often in upper grades as well. The majority of teachers are dominated by info-communication tools, while special educational need teachers use several self-made tools. In terms of methods, teachers consider differentiation to be paramount, followed by an illustration and cooperative learning, while playing came in fourth place.

SPECIAL TREATMENT OF THE CSR
27-41Views:131According to a broader definition offered by Kotler and Lee (2007, 10 p), the focus of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is on „selecting an initiative that will do the most good for the social issue as well as the corporation”. Following this line of reasoning, the purpose of this study is to examine through the use of practical examples those activities of CSR that can be in connection with the category of special treatment. To be more specific, these are CSR activities are related to the treatment of persons with a physical or mental disability and the treatment of people with reduced capacity to work. When it came to reviewing the activities of the selected companies, the CSR activity of Hungarian Affiliate of a global pharmaceutical company (company1) was considered as base. The CSR activities of the four other companies and company1 were evaluated by performing a content analysis of their websites. Due to the diverse sources of information, the news of 2015 and the press releases available on their websites were analyzed separately. The content analysis of the Sustainability reports and websites of the selected companies, supplemented with the latest company news, has opened the door to the preparation of a wide-spectrum activity inventory on the CSR areas related to the treatment of persons with a physical or mental disability and the treatment of people with reduced capacity to work.

THE APPEARANCE OF THE AUGMENTATIVE AND ALTERNATIVE COMMUNICATION IN KINDERGARTENS, WHICH ARE SUPPLYING CHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY
35-44Views:374Present study focuses on the appearance of augmentative and alternative communication in kindergartens, which are supplying children with intellectual disability. The augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) makes it possible, that as a result of the injury of the sounding speech or its deficiency the individual be able to express his communicational intention in some kind of manner (Kálmán, 2006). In my research, I examine the opinions and personal experiences about the use of AAC of special education teachers. 21 special education teachers filled out the questionnaire. All of the special education teachers are women and they work in metropolitan kindergartens. The results indicate that the majority of children with intellectual disabilities need AAC. All of the asked special education teachers use the AAC in their work. Most of them use AAC in the course of development. It’s a young discipline, so there are many difficulties with its use.

EDUCATION FOR MULTIPLE DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS IN ISRAEL
31-40Views:189Because of the three religions are involved in the social life in Israel, not only the society and everyday life are very complex, but its educational system as well. The religious, political, cultural, and economic diversity of society has left a strong impression on education, including the educational provision of minority students. The topic of the writing is the education in Israel, including the most disadvantaged group, the past of the Bedouin pupils and their current situation. Nowadays, Bedouins make up one-third of the Negev population (210,000 people) who have been constantly turning from semi-nomadic lifestyles into living in the past decades. About 90,000 people live in unknown villages and camps, which in itself poses serious difficulties for Israeli education policy. The article gives an overview of the changes in Bedouin's social situation in the past 60-70 years, the circumstances of the first school, the effectiveness of the Bedouin pupils, their opportunities for further education, and its characteristics. In order to understand the functioning of the education system, it is essential to know about teacher training and the characteristics of the teachers who work in Bedouin schools.

SOCIOCULTURAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ROMA COMMUNITY OF TISZABERCEL AND PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR RELATED TO SCHOOLING
133-149Views:98The current paper intends to present the empirical results related to one element of a complex pedagogical anthropological research. In the course of our research, we analyzed how the educational characteristics of Roma families in the Romungro community of Tiszabercel interact with other factors influencing school progress. We tried to map the extent to which certain sociocultural factors (educational level, workplace, housing conditions, gender and age) influence parents' attitudes towards school. Regarding the methodological apparatus of our research, we relied on qualitative research methods. In addition to field research and participant observation, we conducted semi-structured interviews (n=12) with parents belonging to the local Roma community.

MONITORING AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
69-77Views:112Development is a continuous process influenced by several factors. If practitioners would like to ensure children's and young persons' optimal social and emotional development and school performance, they have to monitor both development and academic achievement from early childhood until the age of 19. In the UK, more than one million children struggle with speech, language, and communication problems so early identification is of vital importance. If identification is missed or late, it may have detrimental effects on the child’s or young person’s psychological, mental, and physical health. Multi-agency teams work in collaboration in order to provide relevant help to those in need.

RECRUITMENT AND FUTURE ORIENTATION OF DISADVANTEGED CHILDREN
21-38Views:330In Hungary, many children live in state care. In order to curb its social reproduction, it is important to see recruitment: Who are they? Where and why did they get into state care? We have to deal with the future vision, motivation, self-efficacy, cause-attribution, social integration of young people, and their ideas about them. The aim of our research is to explore the differences in the future orientation of disadvantaged young people living in orphanages and families, which were measurable by analyzing their study average, by using a vision questionnaire and a self-report questionnaire to reveal family background, and by using the Tenessee self-image scale. The study involved 60 children and young adults living in an orphanage and 60 children and young adults living in a family. Both groups consist of young people aged between 15 and 20, born between 1999 and 2004. The aim of the study was to compare the future orientation of the disadvantaged children living in an orphanage with the also disadvantaged children attending Arany János Talent Care Program but living in a family, and also to identify the differences or similarities between them. The statistical analysis found that there was a positive correlation between the vision questionnaire and the background questionnaire. Most of the questions in the two questionnaires are related.

THE MYSTERY OF THE CHILD PLAYING WITH PUPPETS, OR THE PUPPET THAT AMPLIFIES THE SOUL
99-117Views:220According to Teréz Virág (1998) a psychologist with regard to the 'mysteries' of the power of the puppet, three different spheres are worth investigating, namely the mysteries of the puppets, that of the child who plays with the object, and that of the puppeteer's. She views puppetry as creation, the puppeteer as the life-giver, and the puppet as an object of transition. When the aim is to develop the artistic methods as well as explore the 'general utility' of puppetry, it is worth further focusing on segments such as the making of the puppet, acting with the puppet, and perceiving the puppet play. These are three different viewpoints and three approaches. The study presents that the puppet in the child's hand is capable of embodying incomprehensible and insufferable feelings as well as making the unknowable accessible. In pedagogy today puppet play is believed to undoubtedly have a developmental impact, argued for widely with conventions, but it seems that there is still a lack of sincerely understanding of the being of the puppet and its mechanism of action, its principal essence. In my study, I elaborate on the questions of why and how puppet play can be of assistance, and what the puppet can actually mean in the child's hands. The puppet is an object, that makes a motion as it is assuming a role and takes action while portraying this role, it substitutes for someone or something. Being the puppet presupposes a space for the play, in which it takes the place of this someone/something by replacing what it represents. The primary goal of the study is to show that by playing with an object, a puppet lays a bridge in an abstract way between the visible and the invisible world, enabling thus art pedagogy to develop the child with its complex mode of action. The psychological mechanism of identification is best characterized by the eagerness to act, and the artistic genre of puppet play, providing the stage for action, is eminently capable of satisfying this urge. In the creative process, the approach of animation, the metaphorical thinking of the puppeteer, the abstraction as well as the development of the related assertive skills rely on all the operations of thinking; also, the simultaneity of the multi-lateral perception, the complex interpretation of communication play important roles.

GNAWA: SPIRITUAL SOUNDS OF HEALING SLAVERY, RITUALS, MUSIC
127-133Views:234Morocco is known for its cultural and ethnic diversity. In this writing, I would like to shed light on a mystical ethnic group in Morocco that baffled many people from all over the globe; descendants of slaves who traced their origin to Sub-Saharan countries (Mali, Guinea, Ghana, Senegal, Niger). It also refers to a spiritual type of music that can be used as a method of healing with special rituals.
