  A kötet alapos elemzést ad arról – a téma részletes történeti és filozófiai hátterét is jól megvilágítva –, hogy a 21. század felsőoktatásának milyen fő irányvonalak, elvek és módszertan mentén kellene újjászerveződnie, hogy mely gyakorlatokat, szemléletet és módszereket kellene radikálisan újragondolni, illetve, hogy a szerzők meggyőződése szerint melyek azok a változások, amelyek nem csak alátámasztják, de már meg is követelik a radikálisan új szemléletmód alkalmazását a felsőoktatásban.

  Centenary Preparations at the University of Debrecen. The editors of the journal offer status reports on the preparations for the centenary celebrations of the University of Debrecen in 2010. Special attention is devoted to those publications which thematize the history of the university (as well as the history of its predecessor institutions) and of the faculties, of which pre-eminent position is occupied by the commemorative centenary volume offering a comprehensive history of the university in answer to the expectations and requirements of the 21st century. Brief surveys are provided of preparatory projects such as the ones aimed at establishing a Museum of the University, the processes of conducting interviews pertaining to the history of the university, as well as the emerging programs of the centenary year.

  THE RESTART OF THE DEBRECEN SUMMER SCHOOL IN 1947. he essay recalls the process of restarting the Debrecen Summer School after WWII, which operated continously even during the war, and the history of the irst courses organized on the basis of the previous structure. he author describes in detail the heroic struggle of numerous professors in Debrecen, primarily János Hankiss, aiming at reviving the Summer School and putting together the necessary funds for it. he essay elaborates on the obstructive factors and barriers rising immediately after the war and contributing to the complete disintegration of the school.
