Competitio is a double-blind, peer-reviewed, open access scientific journal graded by the Economic Doctoral Committee of the 9th Class of the Hungarian Academy of Science as a journal belonging to category "C". Papers with novel scientific results from any areas of modern economics and business are welcome. The journal started its existance in 2002 as Competitio - periodical of the University of Debercen Faculty of Economics and Business Administration with the aim of becoming a constructive scientific forum in Debrecen and Hungary. Since then - from 2009 on as Competitio - the journal has published both theoretical and empirical studies. Two issues are jointly published each year in December by the University of Debrecen Faculty of Economics and Business. Through the reviewing process the name of the author remains unknown for the reviewer and vice versa. Accepted articles are numbered by international standard identifier (DOI) and published online immidately as "online ready", while the final issue will be printed, as well. Two issues are published in our open acces journal each year. Currently, the issues are jointly published in december.
Papers containing novel results from different fields of economics are welcome to Competitio. Empirical or theoretical analysis, as well as critical reviews of the literature may be submitted for publication. We are also open to high-quality business studies. The journal publishes book reviews and conference reviews, as well.
Papers can be written either in Hungarian or in English. Grammatically and linguistically correct manuscripts are expected, which will go through a native-language proofreading process as well. Through the reviewing process the name of the author remains unknown for the reviewer and vice versa (double-blind review). Accepted articles are numbered by international standard identifier (DOI) and published online immidately as "online ready", while the final issue will be printed, as well. The overall reviewing process generally takes 12-14 weeks (average time between the date of submission and that of online publication).
The journal is a double-blind, peer-reviewed open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
The journal does not charge Article Processing Charges (APC) or submission fees.
