A dinamikusan fejlődő siket sportok fair play szellemisége érdekében a Siketek Nemzetközi Sportszövetsége (International Committee of Sports for the Deaf, ICSD) szabályokat vezetett be, amelyek meghatározzák a nagyothalló sportolók sporteseményeken való részvételét. A legalább 55 dB -es halláskárosodással rendelkező személyek a megengedettek. Ennek megfelelően az audiometriai vizsgálat képezi az első doppingellenőrzési kritériumot. 2004 óta az ICSD együttműködik a Nemzetközi Doppingellenes Ügynökséggel. A második feltétel tehát a tiltott anyagok vér- és vizeletminta-ellenőrzése. A 2017. évi 23. nyári Siketolimpián 2858 sportoló vett részt. Összességében 842 (29,5%) résztvevőt véletlenszerűen vetettek alá audiológiai tesztnek; 9 különböző országból érkező versenyzőt kizártak az ICSD szabványok be nem tartása miatt. Összesen 300 véletlenszerűen kiválasztott sportoló vett részt doppingellenőrzésen tiltott szerek miatt; egyet zártak ki. A szakirodalomból jelenleg hiányoznak a siket sportokkal, köztük a vonatkozó doppingellenőrzésekkel kapcsolatos tudományos elemzések.

Previous research has highlighted that the frequency of regular exercise decreases linearly with age. There is, therefore, a need for young people to develop healthy lifestyle habits for themselves. In the course of our research, a literature review of Matarka (Hungarian Periodicals Table of Contents Database), MTMT (Hungarian Scientific Bibliograhy), and publications in the archives of DEENK (University and National Library of the University of Debrecen) was conducted to find those studies that examine the sports habits of Hungarian university students. A total of 22 studies were identified. The articles concerned 10 universities. The analysis found that although a significant proportion of university students engage in sports, the conscious integration of health education into students’ lives is recommended.

The study examines the relationship between sport and depression among athletes in leisure and competition. A total of 436 people completed a questionnaire measuring the factors examined (Beck-Depression Questionnaire Abbreviated Version), of which 139 responders were leisure time athletes and 297 professional athletes. The aim of my study was to map out whether sport appeared as a protective factor for young people engaged in leisure sports, and whether the protective effect of sport on competitive athletes could prevail over the various symptoms of depression. Furthermore, whether there is a correlation between gender, education, occupation and consumption of legal drugs and depression. From the results we can see that the depression value of athletes at competition level is higher than that of the athletes in leisure sports. In addition, I was able to experience a significantly higher depression value among the people aged between 18-20 than those aged 30 and over. I also found a significant difference in terms of gender in favour of women. People with a low level of education and those who do not have a full-time job have witnessed more depressive symptoms on themselves. By examining the consumption of legal drugs, I could show a correlation between alcohol and depression.

Regular physical activity is beneficial at all ages. Physical exercise has many positive effects in the postpartum period as well, as it reduces anxiety, improves mood, optimizes body weight and enhances fitness. During our research, we examined the changes in the sporting habits of mothers with small children compared to the pre-natal state, with a special emphasis on the time spent at home and the time of returning to work concerning children of ages of six months and up to three years, respectively. One-third of the respondents did not play any sports before giving birth and a further one-third does not have time for that. 17.1% of the mothers returning to work participate in some sort of sporting activities at least once a week. In addition to maternity duties, a significant proportion of women do not have time for themselves. Further research would be necessary to explore possible solutions in this matter.

Of the democratic political system, plural profile civic organizations are essential components. A special feature of the bottom up organized civic organizations, with increasing number after the change of regime in Hungary, is the strong correlation with/dependency from the subsidies. In 2003 a comprehensive, application based subsidy system was introduced (National Cooperation Fund (NCF) in English, Nemzeti Civil Alap, NCA,in Hungarian)), and this one now called Nemzeti Együttműködési Alap (NEA) provides support for approximately 10% of the organizations of the civic sphere by providing finance for operational and program-related costs. From the beginning the system has changed considerably, and currently, it provides even pre-financed subsidy for the prepared organizations. Through the available, related statistics our study aims to highlight some specialities of the subsidy system in a way which is different from the usual program calls. The essay revals that currently available data, sources can only be assessed with considerable cautiousness, and it also details that although reqirements of the access did not really change, still the year of 2024 without the compensation will have an impact on the predictability of this subsidy form.

In the modern individual- and team sports the technical and tactical abilities reached their limit. To gain competitive advantage, the only choices are in the improvement of the physical and mental abilities. This advantage is gained by pushing the limitations of the human capacity, which can be an indicator for injury. In our research we will deal with the sports injuries, with in the most commonly occurrent injuries in soccer. In the first half of the article we will define the most common injuries for adult players based on international publications, and in the second part we will compare these results with the incidence in the youth soccer players from our research. With the build-up of the academy system, and with the increase of the physical requirements of the modern football, the youth players are exposed to a bigger load. In our research we will try to define the effect, and the incidence of certain injuries on the grounds of this huge load given in the growth-phase to the youth players compared to data and type experienced with adult players to find analogy or difference between them.

Swimming is one of the popular sports that can be done at any age in addition to it being a health-promoting form of exercise. Due to the physical inactivity of a significant proportion of our current society, researchers have been looking at how the population can be persuaded to exercise sports regularly, which also included examining the impact of built environment on sporting habits. In our research, we investigated 34 swimming pools in the North Great Plain region, using a telephone interview-based questionnaire method. We reviewed the dates when the swimming pools were inaugurated, the goals set during the establishment, and the number and length of the pools. We analyzed how sporting activities such as school swimming, residential swimming, physiotherapy, training, and competitions appear in the timetable, and how the opening hours affect the usage of the pools by the population. It can be stated that based on the health indicators of the counties concerned, it would be important to educate for a healthy lifestyle, and also to ensure the possibility of swimming. At the same time, the infrastructure currently available is scarce and as such the continuation of the swimming pool building program is of paramount importance.

Even in the most advanced parts of the world, in many cases it can be a serious challenge for a person with reduced mobility or someone otherwise disabled to find sporting possibilities satisfying his/her special needs, especially if he/she wants to do sports close to his/her place of residence. Considering that it is (or in many cases: it should be)of great importance for people with and without disabilities to lead an active lifestyle, and the regrettable fact that, according to research data available, the proportion of those who do parasports is far from the percentage of those athletes with no disabilities, it would be extremely beneficial to explore the underlying causes and to outline policies that can be supported without hesitation by any regime or political direction. In the course of writing this study, we have set ourselves the goal of getting closer to solving this problem by reviewing publications of the past 15 years that focus on the motivational factors and opportunities of disabled athletes, and at the same time providing a synopsis of this topic that can serve as a starting point for further research.

Earlier research on foreign employment has shown that the target country not only offers benefits, but can also pose risks to people that could endanger the health of the person concerned. The question in this matter arises concerning the importance of being aware of the role of regular exercise in the health of the people working abroad and whether the frequently occurring illnesses observed among them may be correlated with the possible lack of regular exercise. During our research, we asked Hungarians working abroad - in Germany - about their sporting habits. 60 respondents, in contrast to expectations based on data from previous studies, reported higher levels of regular physical activity during their stay abroad than before (in Hungary). The combined effect of a number of factors can affect the concerned individuals in this respect, mostly the social and built environment. This validates the need for the nation-wide development of a health-conscious lifestyle in Hungary.

The health of those working in health care institutions is at risk from several aspects. However regular physical activity may play a role in counteracting these adverse effects. During our research, we examined the sporting habits of employees in one of the largest healthcare providers in Hungary. The survey was conducted in a voluntary and anonymous manner using a questionnaire method. 45.1% of the 987 respondents does sport on a regular basis, at least twice a week. We also examined the differences between the various work groups – doctors, health workers, employees of other sort – and those related to gender.
Based on the results it can be stated that health consciousness still needs to be improved in the region, and an especially important element of this can be the organized health promoting activity of the health care institutions.
