Even in the most advanced parts of the world, in many cases it can be a serious challenge for a person with reduced mobility or someone otherwise disabled to find sporting possibilities satisfying his/her special needs, especially if he/she wants to do sports close to his/her place of residence. Considering that it is (or in many cases: it should be)of great importance for people with and without disabilities to lead an active lifestyle, and the regrettable fact that, according to research data available, the proportion of those who do parasports is far from the percentage of those athletes with no disabilities, it would be extremely beneficial to explore the underlying causes and to outline policies that can be supported without hesitation by any regime or political direction. In the course of writing this study, we have set ourselves the goal of getting closer to solving this problem by reviewing publications of the past 15 years that focus on the motivational factors and opportunities of disabled athletes, and at the same time providing a synopsis of this topic that can serve as a starting point for further research.

The key objective of our research is to look into the fitness sector and explore how Myers-Briggs personality types influence the training session attendance-related habits and main motivational factors of fitness consumers. These key driving factors are motivating the fitness sector consumers to attend training session and determine the physical activity of sportspeople. According to the Myers-Briggs Temperament Index, extraverted – sensing – thinking – judging type proved to be the most common within the sample. Based on our results, the period and regularity of training sessions does not depend on the personality of fitness consumers. However, based on their main motivations, significant differences have emerged in different preference dichotomies. We can assume that fitness gym trainings are mostly popular among sportspeople with extraverted – sensing – thinking – judging personality type, so it is worthwhile for fitness providers to consider the motivation and aims of their target group.

The information society is not only transforming the process of education but also creating new positions and challenges in the labour market, and education must prepare for this. Research shows that the success of education depends mostly on teachers (Mourshed, Chijoka and Barber 2010). In this study, we investigate the digital competence of teachers at Ludovika University of Public Service (hereinafter: LUPC) (N=824). For the quantitative research, we used the DigCompEdu questionnaire. The level of digital competence of the teachers is assessed based on their own self-assessment. We assume that although their digital competences need improvement, but their motivation to use digital technologies in the classroom is positive. The instructors scored higher points in the areas of digital resource management, professional engagement and teaching & learning but they scored the lowest in the area of assessment.

In our study, we examine what kind of educational qualifications Roma residents living in shantytown conditions in a large city in Hungary have, what their motivation to learn is like and to what extent school dropout is typical among them. We can compare our research results with the national statistical data available only in a limited number, because the analysis of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office’s Microcensus 2016 data revealing ethnicity data is the last database on the subject under examination. The theoretical part of our paper covers the historical presentation of Roma participation in education, the background factors of school failure and dropout. We used univariate and multivariate analysis techniques to evaluate our research data. According to the analysis of the data, the proportion of Roma with vocational qualifications and certificate of baccalaureate among Roma living in the shantytown conditions examined is higher than in the 2016 national survey. Our data confirmed the sociological findings that the primary role of girls in Roma families is to contribute to family life, even at the detriment of learning, since fewer of the girls living in the shantytown continue their education than boys. According to our results, the respondents are aware that higher education is supposed to lead to find better jobs, but the responses reflect bad experiences and one third of the Roma in the shantytown believe that living in the shantytown is a disadvantage when trying to find a job.

The international literature defines the phenomenon of migration with the intention to work with the help of different theories and paradigms, and looks for the cause and effect relation between them which could explain the different migration waves. Recent researches into migration have shown the features of trans-nationalism and the increased rate of migrant mothers. Due to feminisation of migration, millions of women have become the breadwinners far from their homes in another county, and have also changed the division of labour within the family. The former physically present motherly care has been replaced by distant and material care provided by the mother. In my study, the engagement of mothers in the process of migration is approached in three dimensions: an overview of international literature is followed by regional as well as local research. The analysis of the migration stories from mothers focus on how working abroad appears in their life stories, and what the underlying reasons might have been.
