Abstract

Cognitive flexibility is one of the most important abilities that is a challenge of the 21st century, which can be achieved by developing creativity and intelligence (Spiro & Jehng 1990) or by applying the flow pedagogical model in the classroom. In the present study, we investigate the multiple intelligence levels of students at our university (N=5670; n=747). The focus of the research is to assess the students' multiple intelligence map and to examine its applicability in the classroom. The quantitative research was conducted in the academic year 2022/2023, for which the Gardner multiple intelligence test was adapted. Our hypothesis is that students' intelligence types are strong for the strength of the faculty, while the other intelligence types need improvement. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS statistical software with multivariate procedures including independent variables of gender, faculty and place of residence. The results showed a significant correlation between the faculty distribution of students and the variables under study. This supports the theory that cognitive flexibility can be enhanced primarily through the development of different types of intelligence.
