  • COVID-19 Pandemic Impact on Employees’ Physical Activity

    Globalization and the recent explosive development of technology have significantly changed people’s lifestyles resulting in an increase in the number of people living a sedentary lifestyle. COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the situation and created an unprecedented situation in the world. In the present study, we investigate changes in the physical activity and sedentary behavior of adult workers caused by the coronavirus epidemic. In our online cross-sectional research, we used snowball methodology. The target group of the survey was adult workers. 108 people filled in the questionnaire, the majority (73.1%) are women, the average age is 37.18 years and most of them have higher degrees (Diploma: 74%, PhD: 14%). The present study revealed a decrease in physical activity and an increase in sedentary time for the employees in our study. Despite respondents detected a decrease in their physical activity, an increase was reported in the proportion of online training participants. The majority of respondents partially, or totally switched to work from home during the pandemic, which may further increase their sedentary lifestyle. We did not find significant differences among the domain of work and leisure time or occupational physical activity patterns. The workplace is a great opportunity for promoting physical activity and reducing sedentary time in the adult working population, therefore it would be important for organizations, decision-makers and health professionals to work on the design of strategies to these goals.

    The exploration of specifications of the employee groups endangered in the labour market, and their social
    and labour market integration have always been a challenging task for the professionals. As a result of the
    domestically also appeared migrant wave, the actuality of the topic has even more increased. In this study -
    prepared in the framework of the research program „Human resource management challenges of the reception and labour market integration of the migrants” - we aimed to reveal the attitudes of employees about the labour market integration of the migrants. We have defined an objective to explore whether they are afraid of losing their current jobs, what factors influence the employment of the migrants and what kind of positive and negative effects they take on the society and economy. Based on the results of the survey we have found that employees are not afraid of migrants taking their jobs, still they are quite uncertain whether they would employ or work with a migrant person. Regarding the effect on the society and economy an unambiguous negative attitude was experienced.

    In the 21st century more and more countries of the world take the attitude that human health is not just an issue for healthcare services but for all major areas of life. Such an area for employees is the workplace. Protection of employee health and safety has for a long time been a non-transferable (objective) obligation and responsibility for employers in Europe. Connections between health and the workplace have however extended far beyond the traditional aspect of safety and health at work. Developing a health-conscious organisational behaviour means a challenge for many Hungarian companies; the model described in this study assists them in both diagnosing their current situation and choosing the appropriate course, method and tools for development.

  • Assessment of the Working Ability of Persons with Disabilities and Reduced Work Capacity

    Employment of persons with disabilities and reduced work capacity falls significantly behind that of non-disabled persons both in our country and the European Union. According to research findings, the low employment rate is partly due to discriminatory attitudes towards the group of employees concerned. In the labour market integration, apart from the attitudes of the employers, the approach of the employees working for the institute has also got a significant role, as they are the ones who as colleagues work together with persons with disabilities and reduced work capacity day by day.

    The research findings presented in this study focus on the research question whether the 747 employees who participated in the questionnaire survey make a distinction between persons with disabilities and persons with reduced work capacity on the grounds of their ability to work. If so, what kind of differences are noticeable and what factors have a positive impact on their approach? What is characteristic of the employees with higher level of inclusive attitudes?

    We can observe more and more often that people change their jobs frequently. They work for more employers during their life. The question may arise that organizations should care about the career management of their workers? Certain surveys which investigate the reasons of job changes can disprove it. One of the most common causes is that employees cannot see their career opportunities at the company. The organizations should not necessarily use complex career development systems it may also be appropriate, if they use only some techniques consciously. The study shows the career management tools used by the organizations examined in the survey. The authors demonstrate that there is a provable relation between organizational performance and career development methods. Furthermore they describethe techniques applied by the successful organizations.

    Regarding the issue of unemployment, a number of researches have been done at national level. Deliberately, public awareness has a particular emphasis on this situation from employee aspect. However, from the labour market point, the issue of labour shortage has just as serious consequences like unemployment, although its extent is detectable mainly at employers side. Nowadays, employers are negatively affected by the very nature of labour shortage, and the issue of talented shortage became the most sensitive issue. It has a prominent importance to distinguish labour and talent shortage. Despite the fact that these phrases are frequently used as synonyms these have different meanings. The aim of my research is to determine main differences between labour and talent shortage by seconder data to help in correct use and understanding at organisational level.

  • The characteristics of civil organisations for sports with special regards to employment

    The aim of our article to compare the characteristics of the civil organisations operating in Hugary and in Romaina with special regards to the employment characteristics of the sport civil associations. We ascertained during our research work that the civil sector of the two investigated countries show several similarities. One of these similarities is the lag from the same sectors operating is Western-European countries. The use of volunteer working is a main characteristic of the employment in the civil sector however the paid work plays an important role too.

Egy vezető feladata, hogy összekapcsolja az egyéni és a szervezeti célokat, elérve ezáltal a legjobb szervezeti teljesítményt és a legnagyobb munkavállalói elégedettséget. Ehhez viszont szükséges felismernie azt, hogy a vállalati kultúra és az egyes munkavállalók milyen vezetési stílus alkalmazását követelik meg. Kutatásunk célja, hogy két multinacionális vállalat esetében egy vezetési stílust mérő kérdőív segítségével feltárjuk a sikeres vezetés ismérveit és összehasonlítsuk a kapott eredményeket.

    Main topic of this paper is business coaching which is an individualized leadership development tool working with actual challanges of leaders through developing and transforming from good to great. By using coaching in organizational level traditional and innovative organizational cultures can be radically changed. The change is possible because under the influence of coaching there are strong engagement in individual level. Coaching results growing creativity and efficiency in planning and implementation in organizational level, and behaviourial changes in individual level at the same time. It has positive effects on people’s motivation, because they have time and space for doing and living changes, it doesn’t need revolutionary changes from them. Aim of this paper to analyze and show application of coaching approach in organizational level through examples of companies.

    Throughout history, technological change has often provided the basis for employee anxiety. Between 1811 and 1816, a group of workers in England who called themselves "Luddists" destroyed machines, because they thought it would endanger their workplace. 19th-century thinkers and economists such as Karl Marx and David Ricardo predicted that mechanizing the economy would ultimately worsen workers' conditions, depriving them of a decent wage. Over the last century, John M. Keynes (1930s) and Wassily Leontief (1950s) have expressed their fears that more and more workers will be replaced by machine solutions that will lead to unemployment. In recent years, Brynjolfsson and McAfee (2014) have argued that existing technologies reduce the demand for labor and put some of the human workforce at a permanent disadvantage. However, there are a number of compensation mechanisms that can offset the initial displacement effects of automation and process innovation in general (Vivarelli, 2015). First of all, while workers are being replaced in industries that introduce new machine technology, additional workers in new industries are needed. Second, automation (and process innovation in general) reduces average costs. Acemoglu and Restrepo (2017) found that this results, on the one hand, in the effect of price productivity (“priceproductivity”) (as production costs decrease, the industry can expand and increase labor demand); and, on the other hand, it leads to economies of scale in production (the reduction in costs due to automation leads to an increase in total output and increases the demand for labor in all industries). Similarly, Vivarelli (2015) argues that lower average costs can result in lower prices (if the industry's market structure is perfectly competitive), stimulate product demand, or result in extra profits (if the industry's structure is not perfectly competitive). If these extra profits are reinvested in the company, this investment can create new jobs. The presentation intends to present these counterbalancing cases and to provide real examples based on the literature.

    Workplace mobbing (psychological harassment) can be a great challenge for the management of any organization. Although the phenomenon has been discovered for quite some time, there is still no unequivocal definition, and therefore preventive and managerial actions are rudimentary. It is clear that mobbing affects not only on the individual employee, but the whole organization. The reduction of commitment of people working in this environment (and not only those directly affected by it) may have a detrimental effect on the performance of the organization. I will present a legal case study to highlight some of the general and procedural shortcomings of mobbing at the workplace.

    The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic during the spring of 2020 entailed major economic and social changes all over the world. In this study, we aim to investigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the labor market and the economy with relation to the automotive industry in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County. Apart from secondary data collection, this research also relies on primary data collection methods, including self-administered questionnaires and in-depth interviews, all conducted with several employees and finance directors employed by the automotive companies present in the county.  The focus of this research is to study how the pandemic affected the balance sheets and the gross revenue of these companies; how it altered the repayment obligation of their current loans and how it influenced their willingness to enter into new loan agreements or relief options offering financial assistance.  Apart from these factors, this research also studies how the pandemic restrictions affected the work schedule and the benefits of the employees.

    To achieve the strategic objectives of the management of a company, has to monitor and coordinate continuously the tasks of the employees, they have to do to reach the targets. In this action, sometimes the management of the company has to make corrections in the work and motivations of the employees. This article presents a case study carried out on a medium-sized companies working on the light industry field. It presents a new motivation system for the employees to increase up those products, for those who are at the bottom of the producing rankings of the company, moreover to develop their performance to reach the average level. Here has to be mentioned that, the employees at the bottom of the performance rankings producing under the average levelobligates totally the same amount of circulating and standing capita of the company, lead to the intervention of the management. The norm based requirements within the framework of the production system were completed to provide the more efficient working of the employees, besides strengthen their skills and their loyalties to their colleagues. As a result of the innovation of the performance management the product of the employees standing at he bottom of the rankings increased up considerably. It has manifested formerly in the decrease of the pointing error fixed to the personal monthly norm, moreover it showed the catching up of the employees standing at the bottom of the ranking to the middle. The case that the employees at the bottom get closer to the others in the middle of the ranking helped to contribute to achieve the strategic objectives of the management through reducing the average cost of the producing, since increasing the budget of the producing activities.

  • Labor market effects of health promotion on human capital

    Today, workplace health promotion is increasingly present, both domestically and internationally. In my research, I used literature analysis to show how workplace health promotion programs, including physical activity, how affect employee earning capacity and productivity. Human capital is a significant factor in productivity. Human capital can be defined, that the human inner, inseparable features and characteristics of a person to which is invested and, as a result, increases the productivity of the individual. Investments can include health spending (health promotion programs), costs of extra-curricular lessons and time to find the ideal job.

    I’ve been used secondary data collection during my research. In my research I have reviewed the source of literature on health promotion and physical activity primarily. After reviewing the literature, consequence of the research that investing in health, including investing in physical activity, it also contributes to improving health, as well as increasing life earnings and productivity at work.

With the emergence of the talent market, we will also carry out an important analysis of the changes in the labor market in Hungary as well as the shortage of labor shortages. In the labor market today, different generations are present, who have different expectations for their employer and work environment. The lack of skilled workers is attempted by organizations with different methods. One of these is the ability of companies to become a talent-magnet, resulting in a higher number of employees in their area of activity. In areas where labor shortages are high, more and more attention is paid to automating processes. During the research, I worked on the related literature and studies to determine the factors influencing the talent market.

    The aim of the study is to examine how the effects of globalization affect the global labor market, and how high-level automation and digitalization affect the expectations of labor market actors and the world of labor law. We analyze the legal framework and the economic and social utility of acquiring competences for new challenges in the industry. We will look in more detail at the future of the low-skilled labor force in a changing labor market as a function of acquiring new competencies. We believe that changes in the labor market and novel processes will also pose new challenges for employers and employees. Changes in the labor market raise the question of what kind of benefits an outgoing worker will receive until he or she acquires new competencies. Is the social welfare system in the current sense capable of supporting lifelong learning, or is it necessary to explore alternatives such as basic income? All this needs to be done in the light of the legal and economic scrutiny of the concepts of efficiency and economy. This is because acquiring competences for the new employee also brings new added value.
