Analysis of the Causes and Effects of Noise from Rail Transport

Among the many sources of noise emissions, rail vehicles and infrastructure are a major factor. With regard to rail noise emissions, it can be concluded that noise effects are influenced by a number of factors. These factors include train speed, track condition, traction technology and the noise abatement methods used. The negative effects of noise exposure include sleep disturbance, stress and mental health deterioration. It also affects the quality of life of people in urban areas and property prices. It should be emphasised that reducing noise emissions from rail transport is key to creating a healthier and more sustainable urban environment. To achieve this, it is important to use modern noise abatement technologies, improve infrastructure and implement noise abatement actions effectively. Transport authorities and railway companies should work together to achieve a more noise-free rail transport, to improve people's quality of life and to protect the environment.

Automation Capabilities for the Logistics Service of Jobshop Production System

It is integrated depending on the production structure. The special feature of highly flexible workshop system production is that the material handling system is typically separate and the movement needs occur independently of each other, so the flexibility of the material handling system is required to achieve the expected production goal. In practice, therefore, the organization and execution of material handling is to a considerable extent dependent on the human factor. The purpose of this research is to explore the potential for automation of material handling activities in this particular production environment.

Numerical analysis of effects of an open-pit coal mine to groundwater
70-74Views:324In this study we investigated the hydrogeological problems of an open-pit brown coal mine in the Borsod coal basin with Processing Modflow software. The coal mine is located in the valley of the Sajó-river with high transmissivity overburden layer where the traditional dewatering solutions were not encouraging due to inrush risks and low cost-efficiency. A new way of barrier forming was found out and numerically simulated to prove the efficiency of the solution. Since there are several contaminated sites in the surroundings it was a key factor to assure that the new mine dewatering technique has only a negligible effect on the groundwater regime that undisturbs the known contaminant plumes nearby.

Possibilities of Improving Salt-Related Water Quality on a Hungarian River
13-22Views:281The purpose of the study was the assessment of the salt related quality of river Kösely and its tributaries and to determine with calculations whether it is feasible to achieve improvement of the demonstrated water quality by the means of dilution in the frame of a PhD study. Besides data collection a series of twenty-eight Electrical Conductivity (EC) measurement was carried out at eleven sites along the river system. The resulting EC values all year long on every reach of the river exceeded even the tolerable values specified as irrigation water quality criteria and water quality standards in the Water Framework Directive. In the paper, we introduce the results of the survey along with authority surveillance data series from earlier years. Investigations in the water using anthropogenic activities causing this special water quality problem were also carried out and the results – quantitative and qualitative aspects as well – are introduced here. Since the pollutant is a conservative material, the calculations were performed using the simple dilution equation which is based on the law of conservation of mass. The findings of the calculations were the identification of those reaches of the river system where adequate water quality can be achieved by dilution considering the limiting factor of water delivery capacity. Our conclusion is that under current conditions of water management and water using activities there is no way to meet quality requirements with dilution. This can be achieved only by prevention or reduction of salt load.

Important for achieving the objectives of an organization, this factor plays a vital role while setting the organizational culture. Incorporating organizational culture and then sustaining it is done by the leaders. Leadership if does not play an effective role in regards to implementation of the organizational culture, can collapse the organizational structure. Leaders are required to develop the qualities according to the organizational culture and should be responsible to come forward to transform if necessary and implement the system. The organizational culture should fulfill the needs of the organization’s goals and the norms of the society. Both leadership and organizational culture are co-dependent on each other and should be understood together.

Entrepreneurial Climate – Management of Women's Entrepreneurship

In the last thirty years, female entrepreneurship has been developing more and more, especially in less developed countries, the reason for such growth is primarily reflected in the promotion of equality between men and women, the right to education, and the development of democracy. Female entrepreneurship is a significant factor in economic development, so the national economy becomes richer. The subject of this research are the entrepreneurial climate in the Balkans compared to the world in terms of female entrepreneurship, what is the role of the family in starting a small business, as well as its survival and growth. In the study the results of previous research in this area. The research method is based on a comparative analysis of studies dealing with this problem from the territory of Balkans. It can be concluded that in the Balkans, female entrepreneurship is still in its infancy, it is about a very small percentage of female entrepreneurs, although according to research, it is evident that there has been no major progress in the last 15 years. Recommendation In the countries of the Balkans, there is a good entrepreneurial climate for the development of female entrepreneurship, especially because women can work from home, and in the future it is necessary to go in this direction.

Ethical Leadership, at the Beginning of a Research

I give an insight into the approaches of ethical leadership, give a literature review on the concept of ethical leadership, and introduce the measurement methods used in the most important empirical researches related to this topic. I also try to report on the first results of my research (I plan to describe features of Hungarian leaders based on a smaller sample). How does this relate to the challenges of Industry 4.0? I give the answer from the fact that, with the advent of these new technologies (which in themselves have ethical questions), among these new challenges, the focus of the manager's attention will continue to be partly on their employees. If they set an ethical example for their subordinates, they encourage their employees to act ethically, which gives the company a competitive edge in many ways, both in the product/service market and in the labor market too. So, with my study, I would like to draw the attention of executives and managers to the fact that new technologies and the human factor together bring new successes, and that one possible way of doing this is by consciously managing their company ethically and developing an ethical organizational culture.

Introduction to Design and Analysis of Torsional Vibration Dampers in Vehicle Industry
310-324Views:562The crankshaft of today’s internal combustion engines with high performance output are exposed to harmful torsional oscillations originated from the unbalanced gas and inertial forces. To avoid the fatigue damage of engine components, caused by the undesired vibrations, torsional vibration dampers can be applied. Viscodampers are one type of the torsional vibration dampers, which operational fluid is silicone oil. For cost-effective R&D activities and production, finite element and finite volume numerical discretization methods based calculation techniques must be involved into the engineering work supported by the modern computer technology. The aim of this paper is to provide an insight into the multidisciplinary design and development process of visco-dampers in vehicle industry applications. Four different examples as structural, fatigue, CFD analyses and structural optimization have been introduced in the present work. It turned out from the static structural and fatigue analyses, that the investigated damper has safety factor over the limit for both static structural and fatigue analyses, so it is suitable for the given load conditions. In the structural optimization process 34.36% mass reduction has been achieved. According to the coupled fluid dynamic and heat transfer simulations a rather stagnating air zone evolved between the engine and the damper during the operation, which can cause efficiency reduction of cooling fins mounted onto the housing. In light of the numerical results, the suitable damper position has been determined for the highest heat transfer.

Analysing the Possible Connection Between Dark Triad Personality Traits and Ethical Attitudes of University Students
57-67Views:521In our paper we examined the possible connection between the Dark Triad personality traits and ethical attitudes among university students. The analysis of both topics has become the focus of interest in the past decades. Researchers consider the impact of many factors in the background of ethical attitudes and behavior. Among other things, personality is also a potential factor. The Dark Triad personality means the coexistence of the socially undesirable narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. Such people are characterized by self-love, aggression, the lack of guilt or conscience, so they are less likely to have ethical attitudes. In our research, this connection was examined by a questionnaire survey conducted among first year students of University of Debrecen Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology and Faculty of Economics and Business. Respondents completed the validated Dirty Dozen questionnaire which was developed to measure Dark Triad personality and a questionnaire adapted from Lozier's research in which respondents were asked to evaluate school situations whether they are ethical or unethical and to what extent they are unethical. In our research, we were looking for significant relationships between the strength of the Dark Triad characteristics and the ethical judgment of situations. We also analyzed the differences between men and women and students of the two faculties.

The „Management Science” was developed as an independent area. Some management specialists developed some management methods (eg. Value Analysis, Risk Management, TRIZ, Lean methods etc.) for efficient allocation of sources.
