„…sokkal több pénz kellene, hogy gyorsabban haladjunk előre…” A turizmusfejlesztés feladatai az 1950-es években Hajdúszoboszlón a tanács végrehajtó bizottsága üléseinek jegyzőkönyvei tükrében
5-22Megtekintések száma:2In Hajdúszoboszló, after the exploration of the thermal water in 1925, the tourist attraction and offers of the settlement were established. This study examines the role of city management in tourism development during the “difficult years” of the history of Hungarian tourism, in the 1950s. To present the local tourism policy, the author uses the minutes of the city council executive committee meetings as a source. In Hajdúszoboszló, the tasks of tourism were mostly included in the agenda of the meetings of the council and the executive committee through reports on the annual operations of the three large service companies under the control of the council (Spa Company, Catering Company, Municipal Management Company). Through these, the author presents the ideas of spa development, as well as the steps taken in order to create and improve the additional material conditions of tourism, i.e. the infrastructure and superstructure of tourism. -
A nagyszabású tervek szertefoszlása – Viták a turizmuspolitikáról Hajdúszoboszlón 1947–1950 között
33-52Megtekintések száma:0With the end of the Second World War, the city administration of Hajdúszoboszló thought that the time had come to formulate large-scale plans for the development of the spa, which is a tourist attraction of the settlement. The local tourism policy primarily focused on developing the town into a world bath town, but the city administration had almost no financial resources to realize the idea. They were highly confident that they would receive government support to achieve their goal within the framework of the new political and economic system, but they soon became disappointed. Based on the minutes of the Board of Representatives, I examine in my study how the town management tried to assert its interests in the late 1940s in the face of dwindling development opportunities and ever-changing political and organizational frameworks, and how MPs responded to the new ideological expectations. According to the minutes of the Board of Representatives, three issues generated particularly many controversy during the period under review: the exploration and utilization of medicinal clay, the acquisition of a spa or holiday resort title, and the price of spa tickets. Therefore, I shed light on the questions raised in this study by a detailed analysis of these three issues. -
Hajdú vármegye kialakítása, közigazgatási változásai 1876–1950
28-48Megtekintések száma:0At the beginning of the last quarter of the 19th century, the administrative system in Hungary underwent significant changes, as the laws of 1876 (XXXIII) and 1877 (I) dissolved the historically outdated privileged territories that had existed for centuries – including the Hajdú district – and incorporated them into the county system, resulting in the establishment of Hajdú County based in Debrecen. The idea of this had already emerged after the suppression of the 1848–49 revolution and war of independence – during which North and South Bihar counties were created – but after multiple reorganizations, by the end of 1860 and early 1861, the previous county system was restored, including the privileged territories. Following the Compromise of 1867, the demand for administrative reform intensified: in 1871, settlements were categorized into orderly council cities, large villages, and small villages. From 1872, the separation of administration and justice was introduced within counties and districts, district courts were established, large districts were dissolved and replaced with subdivisions/districts. The final step was the dissolution of various sized privileged territories in 1876–1877. The definitive formation of Hajdú County was preceded by more than three years of "struggle", beginning in 1873, during which Debrecen emerged victoriously with the support of Hajdúszoboszló, as the city became the seat of the county, to which six hajdú towns from Szabolcs and several villages from Bihar and Szabolcs were attached. Its territory remained unchanged until 1945, when two large villages (Nyírábrány and Nyírmártonfalva) were annexed from Szabolcs County, and then, in parallel with the establishment of the council system, Hajdú-Bihar County was created on March 16, 1950. -
A Hajdúsági Múzeum és gyűjteményei
43-62Megtekintések száma:0The City Museum of Hajdúböszörmény was opened in 1924, which was a long-awaited event in the city’s cultural life. In 1949, the Museum was declared a public collection and became a scientific institute with full-fledged rights. In 1951, it picked up the Hajdúsági Museum name, and at that time, its first permanent exhibition was opened, which was followed by new ones on the expansion of the museum’s materials. The Museum took its place in the former Hajdú District Hall (which is a historical memorial since 1st January, 2012). As the largest regional museum of Hajdú-Bihar county, its primary task is to collect, preserve and process the material and spiritual values of the six „old” Haiduk towns (Hajdúböszörmény, Hajdúszoboszló, Hajdúnánás, Hajdúdorog, Hajdúhadház and Vámospércs) and to present those to the wider public. In addition, it performs a wide range museum education work, and takes part in the most important events of the museum profession, supported by civil associations and volunteers.
