NARRATIVE APPROACH IN THE HELPING RELATIONSHIPS
59-70Views:315The authors present a very flexible cogitative framework by using the narrative approach, which can be applied not only in a wide range of helping relationships but also in private life. They discuss the postmodern and the constructivist model which forms the basis for narrative psychology. Three cases are presented to demonstrate the potential of the method. In the first case, the narrative behind the behavior is easily detectable and can be altered in a simple manner, thus the problem can be solved. The second case encompasses a complex problem, and the instruments of narrative psychotherapy are presented here. The authors here emphasized the thoughtful use of linguistic instruments. The third case illustrates the possibility of multiple narratives for the underlying problems, and that choosing the right narrative determines the possibility for solutions. A person creates his/her own destiny when choosing the narratives, for which he/she bears the responsibility.

The Impact of Video Gaming on 0-12-Year-Old Children’s Visual Cognitive Abilities: Narrative Review
157-170Views:121This narrative review explores the growing prevalence of video gaming among children and its impact on their visual cognitive development, particularly attentional mechanisms and visual information processing. As games are introduced at younger ages and become increasingly prevalent, concerns emerge about their effects on developing cognitive systems. The review synthesises current evidence on how fast-paced video games challenge children’s visual processing, filling a gap in the literature, which has mostly focused on adolescents and adults. It outlines childhood gaming habits, key visual cognitive developments, and the effects of gaming on these processes. Research suggests that video gaming can enhance spatial-visual attention and stimulus processing speed; however, the effects vary depending on age, game type, offline engagement, and parental involvement. Early and excessive gaming may lead to cognitive overload and attention difficulties that extend beyond gaming contexts. While games may enhance divided attention, these skills often fail to transfer effectively to real-world tasks, such as learning. The review concludes with practical considerations for age-appropriate, balanced gaming to support healthy cognitive development.

CHILD CONCEPTION AND CHILDHOOD NARRATIVES IN THE LIGHT OF CRITICAL PEDAGOGY, CHILDHOOD SOCIOLOGY AND NARRATIVE PSYCHOLOGY
41-52Views:344In my thesis I attempt to define the basic concepts of the historical research of child conception and child perception, I try to emphasize the significance of narratives of childhood, and I point to the connection between the child conception, child perception, and the narratives. In the Hungarian pedagogical press, there aren’t yet carefully developed definitions, theoretical approaches regarding the researches of child conception and child perception, and that’s why we have to review that subject. My study contains three main parts. In the first chapter I review the connections between the everyday pedagogical attitudes or perspectives and the child ideologies, then I analyze the relationship between the development-based pedagogy and the everyday pedagogical discourses, but I attempt to define the contemplative pedagogical attitude too. In chapter II I outline the concepts of child conception (child image) and child perception, and I point the relation between these concepts and the narratives of childhood. The last chapter is a summary with practical aspects, but I don’t show the paradigms of childhood history. In my theoretical overview, I try to answer that question: what kind of resources, components we can find in the different pedagogical views, and how to do these works under our researches. In my view, the child ideologies determine the pedagogical discourses of the different ages, and instead of the totalizing child conception of development-bases pedagogy we try to find new paradigms, e. g. the narrative psychology, the critical pedagogy and the new childhood-sociology, therefore these paradigms are more efficient for the child-rearing practices and our researches. Namely, we can’t vocalize the children’s perspective by the comparison to the adult gauge, therefore we prefer the contemplative, narrative methods, which leave open the frame of interpretation (reference).

Study Experiences of People Diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Adulthood
129-140Views:80In recent years, the number of adults diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has risen significantly worldwide, including in Estonia. In 2024, a study was conducted focusing on the learning experiences of adults who were diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood. The study involved a total of 10 adults aged between 23 and 49 who had previous experience in higher education. The aim of the study was to explore the learning experiences and perceptions of individuals diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood, particularly in relation to coping with academic activities. A qualitative research method was used, and data were collected through narrative interviews. Participants reported difficulties related to executive functioning, learning challenges, and mental health. Although they occasionally received support from both educational institutions and external sources, they mostly had to rely on self-developed strategies and personal resilience. The results highlighted that emotional and social support, involvement of support networks, and adaptations in the learning environment are crucial in supporting learners with ADHD. The findings provide insights into how to better support students with similar needs within the education system.

Data-Driven Music Therapy: Application of the Model in the Development of Children with Special Educational Needs
55-66Views:296Data-based music therapy is associated with the name of Suzanne B. Hanser (1999), a music therapist from California, who supported the developmental effect of music with the results of her clinical research. Her publication entitled The New Music Therapist's Handbook is a guide to the organization, planning, implementation, and evaluation of this music therapy model. Since data-based music therapy is an objective, clear and goal-oriented model. There is an indispensable part of this model and basic conditions in the application of it in the precisely defined preparation, intervention and measurement moments. However, strict planning and organization become the main virtue of the model when evaluating the results achieved, as it provides accurate and irrefutable results. The data obtained this way, represent the totality of the results of observations and experiments.The main pillars of the model are the following: observation, goal-oriented planning, implementation, and objective measurement. An objective and completely clear evaluation of music therapy is provided by the measurements specified in the model. The calculation of the reliability rate and its expression as a percentage, as well as the baseline observation, are complemented by the narrative report of the music therapy supervisor with a description and evaluation of the achieved musical and non-musical therapeutic goals. This article to present describes the application of data-based music therapy in the case of a juvenile with special educational needs studying in special educational institutions.

THE "INSTITUTIONALIZATION" OF THE LOVARI LANGUAGE FROM THE ASPECT OF SOCIAL INNOVATION
85-93Views:253In this current paper we intend to reflect upon the historicity and social impact of Lovari language education from the perspective of social innovation. Our starting point is that the process of the acceptance of the Lovari language and its recognition in the educational palette of foreign languages is a „bottom-up” initiative that developed mainly from the work of Romani intellectuals. The focus of our interest is, among others, the following questions: Who invented it? Who supported it? Who prevented it? What language learning methods are used by people teaching Lovari language who are originally not language teachers? The „institutionalization” of language education in Lovari and the state-recognized language exam certificate that can be obtained in this language have a serious social impact, for example, it helped disadvantaged and/or Roma students to obtain a university degree. From this point of view, we also consider this phenomenon as an innovation. Besides the secondary sources, we tend to map the topic with the help of primary, qualitative data. In addition to interviews with Lovari language teachers (N=3) who have been teaching for several decades, we would like to put our own perceptions in a narrative.

Resulting in an analysis of physical and symbolic elements that constitute the concept of cultural landscape worked on in this analysis.
