Internet and Social Media Use Patterns Among Youth in State Care
39-50Views:28This study analyses the social media usage patterns of adolescents in state care and young people within the general population, with a particular focus on the relationship between loneliness and digital platform option within the framework of Uses and Gratifications Theory (UGT).This topic is quite relevant today as mobile devices and the Internet had turned into key venues for the socialization and emotional regulation norm of young people, especially those who are disadvantaged in their social relationships. In our research, we seek to answer how young people's use of various social media platforms reflects the fulfilment of their social needs, and how these patterns are influenced by subjective well-being, feelings of loneliness, and family background. The sample consists of 554 young people aged 13–20, including those in state care and a control group. Based on the results of the quantitative analysis, young people in state care primarily use Messenger to maintain family relationships, very intensly, or seldom, as a kind of ‘virtual umbilical cord’, while for the control group, the same platform is a way of strengthening peer relationships. The overall impression indicates that lonely young people in state care are more likely to turn to platforms offering passive, parasocial content (such as YouTube). According to the overall results of our study, the functional role of social media varies significantly depending on social background: For young people in state care, digital communication is not only a form of entertainment but also, in a sense, a partial substitute for a lack of relationships and a psychological coping strategy.

Within early childhood education, the Reggio Emilia approach has gained popularity around the world and a number of countries in the West employ this approach in their early childhood educational system. In the young and prosperous country of the United Arab Emirates with its famous city of Dubai, this child-centered approach is also famous amongst affluent families with young children. This paper looks into early childhood education and the Reggio Emilia approach in the city of Dubai and how this is presented in the educational system of the UAE.

SIBLING CARE - SIBLINGS CARING FOR ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES
111-121Views:858The increasing life expectancy of adults with intellectual disabilities has raised new questions and challenges for families. Depending on the severity of their condition, people with intellectual disabilities need support from their families and environment to vary degrees throughout their lives. They depend on their family members, which addiction is a new problem as parents get older, and care will be the responsibility of siblings who are already living independent lives, sometimes geographically far away. Sibling care should be interpreted differently than when it is performed by a parent or a paid carer, it is more emotionally complex, its content and direction are diverse. We know not too much about sibling caregivers, we only have hypothetical answers to the questions based on a small number of studies or research in similar areas. This paper aims to provide an overview of the situation and motivations of adults who care of and take responsibility for their siblings with intellectual disabilities, and of their role and interaction of the various influences that help them understand. Getting to know siblings is necessary in order for the support system of the special education and social policy to adapt properly to the situation of the - unfortunately - barely ‘visible’ population.

PLAY THERAPY FOR INFANTS AND TODDLERS WITH DISABILITIES IN THE AREA OF EARLY INTERVENTION AND CARE
125-132Views:839The experts of early development working in the Hajdú-Bihar County Educational Service worked out new therapy for the damaged babies, young children, and their families while taking the local factors and resources into consideration. This therapy strongly fits the family-oriented approach and the coordinated, integrated provider model of early childhood intervention. The tool for this is play therapy, which is the most important element of the development of damaged children. The program is based on the healing play therapy designed by Tunyogi (2019). We added some elements of the Step By Step preschool program to the therapy, and for the design of the environment and conditions, we used the Work-Fun-Development concept of Schaffer (1988) Parts of the intensive, group play therapy: sensorimotor program, the differentiated stimulation therapy of the senses, the increase of learning abilities, a staged environment. This year, new elements and therapeutic tools have been added to the program, like the Points of YouTM phototherapy method for parents, as well as dog therapy and baby massage for the little ones.
