Manuscripts being currently reviewed or already published by Competitio are not permitted to submit to other journals.

The editorial board of Competitio should conduct an objective reviewing process strictly based on the scientific quality of the submitted manuscript. Our journal assures a double blind reviewing process, i.e. both the author and the reviewer remain anonymous to each other. In case of any ethical affairs in connection with a manuscript, the editorial board is obliged to act.

The reviewer should consider the manuscript as a confidential document, thus any information shall not be to used for the self-interest of the reviewer. Comments and recommendations should be objective and clearly framed founded by arguments. Reviewers shall not take on to do the review if they not feel competent, i.e. they are not able to write a high-quality, critical review on time. The reviewer should not review the manuscript if there is a conflict of interest (competitive or cooperative relationship) with the author.

The journal complies with the guidelines and best practices set forth by the Commission on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any cases of ethical misconduct are treated very seriously and will be dealt with in accordance with the COPE guidelines.

Peer review policy

Manuscripts submitted to Competitio go through a double-blind peer rivew process. Accordingly, the name of the author remains unknown for the reviewer and vice versa.

Each manuscript is reviewd by one reviewer. The competent reviewer is selected by the editors.

Manuscripts are subject to a preliminary checking process in which formal requirements, the suitability of the topic, and the quality of the methods utilized in the paper are studied by the editors. Manuscripts that cannot meet the requirements or the expectations of the editors are sent back for revision. If the revised submission still lacks those requirements, it is refused.

Manuscripts that meet all of the requirements are sent for review with securing anonimity (double-blind).

The publication and reviewing process can be followed in the OJS system by every concerned party.
