Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

When submitting a paper authors have to enclose the Authors' declaration signed by the corresponding author. In this declaration, the authors enounce that the manuscript has been designed and conducted by them, and all of them have validated every part and result of it.

The journal does not charge Article Processing Charges (APC) or submission fees.

Formal requirements of the manuscripts

- Times New Roman style, font size: 12

- Use British English

- Length of abstract: max. 1000 characters

- Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) codes (1-6)

- Keywords (3-6)

- Length of the manuscript: 30000-50000 characters

- Equations should be numbered and edited by the integrated Word Editor

- Tables: numbered, title should be written (in bold) above while source and notes (in italics) below the table

- Figures: numbered, title should be written (in bold) above while source and notes (in italics) below the table. Pictures and graphs should be saved either in vector format (.eps, .pdf) or as raster image (.jpg, .tiff, .png, etc.) and inserted into the document. Resolution should be at least 300 dpi. As we have a black-and-white printed version, it is recommended to avoid the use of different colors. Authors can rather use different shades of black (10-90%). If the author is uncertain about the quality of the figure, it is recommended to upload it in a seperate (editable) file, too.

- Tables and figures should be inserted into the right place within the main text.

- The file format of the manuscript should be either .doc or .docx.

- Citation and the reference list should be done in APA-style (see https://www.mendeley.com/guides/apa-citation-guide)

- DOI links of the sources cited should be indicated in the reference list (if it is available). The following website may be helpful: https://doi.crossref.org/simpleTextQuerywhich is free of charge after registeration.

- in order to insure that the reviewing process is double-blind we kindly ask the authors NOT to include the name and affiliation of the author or any other information (unambigiously) referring to the author.

Uploading a manuscript for a possible review

The whole reviewing process of the manuscripts is conducted in our online system (https://ojs.lib.unideb.hu/competitio). The authors can upload their manuscripts in the following way:

- to upload manuscripts you need to register to our journal as a user. You should log in to upload the manuscript.

- Go to "Submissions" and "New submission" to start sending your manuscript. The document should NOT contain any personal information regarding the author, otherwise the manuscript will be sent back to formal revision.

- The file format of the manuscript should be either doc or docx.

- Please give every necessary data precisely in "Enter Metadata". If the title begins with a prefix (a/an, the) it should be given seperately. If this is not the case you should press the "spacebar" for the prefix. In the "type" place you should wright the word "text". Keywords should be given seperately, press "enter" after each keyword.

- Manuscripts precisely uploaded will be checked by the editorial board whether their topic is suitable for the journal and after a positive decision they will be sent for reviewing (4-5 weeks). The authors may correct for the mistakes and do some modifications asked by the reviewer, then the new document should be uploaded again. We kindly ask the authors to upload a seperate file with a detailed answer for the reviewer's comments, too.
