Fraud in the Financial Sectors
1-17Views:363The competition for social resources encourages economic players to break ethical business rules to gain an economic advantage. Digitized data is making it increasingly difficult to verify their content of reality. The Wirecard scandal and the COVID-19 crisis will transform the environment around us, change our way of thinking about the world, accelerate discussions on the possible control of data produced by digitization tools, and the issue of the widest possible introduction of international accounting. Since the economic crisis of 2007, there has been a general and measurable increase in fraud in public procurements in construction industry, real estate, oil and gas, heavy industry and in mining industry, and in the financial sectors, which some governments of countries are trying to prevent it by using new tax control methods. In the stagnant economies of the economic crisis that is likely to materialize as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, economic players will share on fewer and fewer orders, and as competition increases, the possibility or compulsion of fraud increases. Crises either begin in the financial sector or it will become one of its victims. Although financial scandals have not shaken confidence in the financial sector in recent decades, but it has violated the generally accepted public opinion that the financial sector is strictly regulated and it is non-fraudulent, non-infected area. International events affecting the financial sector have shown that internal procedures that ensure the lawful operation of a company in financial institutions have not prevented internal abuse because some of the perpetrators came from leaders.Due to the generalizations, the integrity of financial and supervisory organizations not directly involved in financial scandals are also significantly damaged, and trust can only be restored again through joint efforts, legal tightening and appropriate communication of it.

LSI with Support Vector Machine for Text Categorization – a practical example with Python
18-29Views:408Artificial intelligence is becoming a powerful tool of modernity science, there is even a science consensus about how our society is turning to a data-driven society. Machine learning is a branch of Artificial intelligence that has the ability to learn from data and understand its behavers. Python programming language aiming the challenges of this new era is becoming one of the most popular languages for general programming and scientific computing. Keeping all this new era circumstances in mind, this article has as a goal to show one example of how to use one supervised machine learning method, Support Vector Machine, and to predict movie’s genre according to its description using the programming language of the moment, python. Firstly, Omdb official API was used to gather data about movies, then tuned Support Vector Machine model for Latent semantic indexing capable of predicting movies genres according to its plot was coded. The performance of the model occurred to be satisfactory considering the small dataset used and the occurrence of movies with hybrid genres. Testing the model with larger dataset and using multi-label classification models were purposed to improve the model.

Urban Transportation Problems and Issues in Homs-Syria: Analytical Study of the Current Condition and Proposing Future Solutions
30-42Views:345Cities in the north middle east are known for their past and old valuable heritage, with a complex master plan of each one. Homs city is Syria is one of them, it has a history dates back to 2000B.C. with a unique formation of the city. However, the urban area of Homs has a very distinctive characteristics, but unfortunately it suffers from the transportation system operated. The congested and unorganized planning process have led the city to a complete mess and disorders, for all categories of its inhabitants. This study analysis the components of the transportation system, and identifies the greatest issues and problems the inhabitants suffer from, by locating the driving forces and the causes of these issues, and generally asses the quality of the system itself. Therefore, a holistic approach is proposed to improve the transportation system, and suggests some key plans to shift the city to a higher level of development. By locating the strength points, and detect the benefits of these strength points and exploit them. By evaluating the road network and create a new system that mitigates the negative environmental impacts (emissions, noise…) and reduce the crowded gathering of inhabitants, which caused a severe stress in their daily life. Overall, an attempt of implementing a new transportation system to contribute in the development process, and opens the possibility to develop other systems of the city in a sustainable framework.

Safety Index Based on Geometric Probability Is Proposed to Represent the Uncertainty of Soil Parameters for Spread Foundations

One of these partial factors represents the uncertainty of the soil parameters. Comparison of the Euler-Bernoulli- and Solid Models of Three-Point Bending Test Specimens

In the present study, I compare the state variables calculated based on the Euler-Bernoulli model of a crack-free concrete beam and a crack-free concrete beam reinforced with FRP bars with the result of the three-dimensional solid body model.

Investigation of the Eigenfrequency of the Bending Vibration of the Beam Clamped at Both Ends Around the Principle Directions of Inertia Based on a Single-Degree Freedom Model and a Finite Element Method Analysis
69-79Views:216In this study, we have dealt with the calculation methods of the eigenfrequencies associated with the bending vibrations of rectangular-shaped beams clamped at both ends. Said eigenfrequencies were determined analytically in the single-degree of freedom model of the beam and the case of the three-dimensional solid and three-dimensional rod models by finite element modal vibration analysis. We presented the calculation method of the characteristics of the analytical model and then calculated the eigenfrequency for a concrete example. We have described the concept of modal characteristics, and in the following, we have determined its natural frequency based on the solid-beam and rod models of the former beam. We calculated and compared the solutions belonging to the models recorded in different ways in 11 additional cases of the presented methods.

Creativity and Innovation to Improve Processes in a Textile Industry
80-96Views:185In this scientific work, the My Creative Idea (MIC) program was created and developed in the Coteminas S.A. textile industry, distributed among the organization's units in the country with emphasis on the São Gonçalo do Amarante unit in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The aim was to critically analyze the improvements of industrial-scale processes resulting from the creativity and innovation intrinsically incorporated and experienced daily in the program. Thus, the general objective of the work was to evaluate the improvements in the productive processes coming from an innovation program in a textile industry, considering as specific propositions with respect to calculating the gains with reduction of losses, cost of implementation of ideas and measure financial returns and evaluate employee satisfaction according to the program. Moreover, there was free access in the company to be able to collect valuable information that could formalize a robust database for later structuring of the document, as well as the application of action research in the form of questionnaires. Therefore, the results verified clarified and emphasized the program's aggregating character to the organization in a general way under aspects that approach the financial spheres, the quality, and the satisfaction and motivation of the employees involved in this whole scenario. I suggest continuing to work on a continuous improvement methodology to further enhance My Creative Idea over the years, as well as insert this method of work to units that have not incorporated this program into their business strategies.
