A debreceni Hatvan és Cegléd utcák eredetének nyomában
5-25Megtekintések száma:0This study aims to investigate the historical origins of two public spaces in Debrecen, namely Hatvan and Cegléd Streets. During the Middle Ages, segments of roads leading away from settlements were often named after places impacted by the given route that functioned as crossings or transportation hubs. In the case of Debrecen, this pattern can be observed in the context of Várad Street. However, regarding the names of Hatvan and Cegléd Streets, the currently accepted theories reject the origin associated with place names. For Hatvan Street, a numerical name reference is noted, while for Cegléd Street, an etymology linked to a plant name is generally accepted. The study reviews relevant sources and literature that question the historical validity of currently widespread explanations and at the same time, suggests the acceptance of place name origins for both public spaces.PDF0 -

From 1905, he was MP of the city that had been granted municipal rights in the Party of Independence and '48. Dr. Samu Kelemen, as a freelance intellectual, belonged to the middle classes. As a result of his public activity, the sought-after lawyer got integrated into the social life of Szatmárnémeti. Dr. Kelemen served as member of the Municipal Committee; moreover, as the director and later as prosecutor of the Trade and Industrial Bank of Szatmár, he also dealt with financial institutions. He was the main architect and president of the Chamber of Commerce and Economy of Szatmár, and was also active in the field of journalism, which culminated during the period of his political career. The character, public-political style, party preference of Dr. Samu Kelemen, as well as the rhetoric and content of his articles and public speeches at the beginning of his political career are studied in the present paper. An attempt is also made to reconstruct Dr. Samu Kelemen's conception of electoral law, since the issue of electoral reform became a dominant topic of political discourse from the governmental crisis of 1905–1906 onwards.PDF0

Eckhardt Sándor szintézisének hármas eszmeköre a szellemtörténet kontextusában
43-52Megtekintések száma:0It can rightly be said that the synthesis entitled "The French Spirit" represents the greatest achievement of historian Sándor Eckhardt's work, and is also a representative expression in Hungarian intellectual history. In close relation, the study examines various stages of synthesis creation, emphasizing the different manifestations of the intellect within the context of historiographical trends. Thus, we are analysing the triple ideology within which, according to the author, the French nation progressed from the Song of Roland to the 20th century.PDF0
