A Párbeszéd szociális munka folyóirat aktuális száma megemlékezéssel kezdődik. Hegyesi Gábor halála mindannyiunkat megrendített. Gábort a szakmában sokan ismerték egyetemi oktatóként, kollégaként, civil szervezetek képviselőjeként szociális ügyek szolgálatában. Gazdag életpályájának és szellemi örökségének egy szelete megtalálható a folyóiratunkban. Számos tanulmányt publikált nálunk, és egyik főszerkesztője volt a „Tudományos gondolkodás és kutatás a szociális munkában I-II”. köteteknek, amelyek megjelenési felülete ugyanúgy a folyóiratunk.

This paper examines the evolution of social work as a profession within the context of changing socio-political landscapes. Through critical analysis of historical developments and contemporary challenges, it explores how neoliberal ideologies have fundamentally transformed the conceptualization of "the social" and consequently altered the practice and perception of social work. The research investigates the tension between technical-managerial approaches and relationship-based practices in social work, highlighting the profession's struggle to maintain its core values amid political and economic pressures. The paper argues for a re-politicization of social work practice as essential for its continued relevance and effectiveness, proposing a framework that reaffirms social work's commitment to fostering meaningful human connections and addressing structural inequalities. This analysis contributes to ongoing scholarly discourse on the future direction of social work in increasingly complex and polarized societies.

In English and German, the concept of Spiritual Care is increasingly becoming the focus of attention. The aim of this paper is to explore this concept and to outline how it can be linked to the idea of active ageing. In the first part of this article, we will look at how Spiritual Care fits into health care. We will approach this question from two perspectives: first, we will define the concept of Spiritual Care and spirituality and, in this context, illustrate the applicability of the concept by briefly presenting two examples from clinical practice: Breitbart's meaning-centred group psychotherapy and spiritual pain. In this theoretical framework, the logotherapeutic approach plays a prominent role. The ways in which Spiritual Care can be understood and implemented at the organisational level will be discussed in detail. In this context, the main features of the Spiritual Needs Questionnaire developed by Büssing will be briefly described. We highlight elderly care as an important field of application of Spiritual Care, justified by demographic changes. The second major content unit of our article introduces the concept of active ageing, the role of spirituality in old age and the areas of spiritual care in old age.

The Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Studies at the University of Szeged launched the dual form of social work education in 2018. Several critiques emerged during the introduction of this training model; thus, the aim of this study is to comprehensively evaluate its impacts, advantages, and challenges based on experiences gathered since its inception. The analysis adopts three primary perspectives: that of the educational institution itself, the field institutions acting as dual partners, and the students enrolled in the program. Experiences were explored through structured interviews and focus group discussions. The findings and recommendations outlined in this study may contribute to the further development and enhanced effectiveness of dual education.

Katriona O’Sullivan Poor (Szegény) c. könyve 2023-ban jelent meg, és még abban az évben elnyerte az Ír Könyvdíjak közül az Év Életrajza és egy közönségdíjat is. Azóta a szerzővel számos interjú és podcast beszélgetés készült, és mivel engem nagyon magával ragadott a könyv, szeretném megismertetni azt a magyar olvasókkal is.

2023 júniusában Portugáliában Bányai Emővel részt vehettem az Európai Szociális Munka Oktatási konferenciáján, ahol számos elméleti és gyakorlati előadást hallhattunk nemcsak a szociális munka oktatásával, de magával a szociális munka, illetve a szociális munkások helyzetével kapcsolatban, elsősorban európai, de számos tengerentúli résztvevővel.

Care policy emerged as a new concept in 2021 within the domestic social welfare system and the world of social sciences that underpin it. In recent years, it has been institutionalized in several stages, continuously in new areas. In the study, we attempt to define and analyze the content of care policy based on two foundational textbooks published at the end of 2024 and related publications, highlighting the essential content elements and the differences from the system of social work and social policy. Care policy is characterized by a contradictory, ambivalent relationship with the concepts of social policy and social work; it simultaneously seeks to consider itself as an organic, qualitatively progressive continuation of them, while at several points it firmly denies their fundamental principles and values. The monitoring and interpretation of the development of care policy is of paramount importance for the social policy and social work in Hungary.

Hegyesi Gábor (1948 – 2025) emlékére közreadjuk a pályatársnak, a szociális munka nemzetközi professzorának Walter Lorenznek, Gábor munkásságát felidéző gondolatait. Gábor méltatása elhangzott Salzburgban, a European Association of Schools of Social Work (EASSW) konferenciáján 2025. júniusban. A méltatás az angol nyelvű szöveg alatt magyarul is olvasható. Hegyesi Gábor, az ELTE Társadalomtudományi Kar emeritus professzora 2025. április 8-án eltávozott közülünk. A mindig jelenlévő finom humora, az embersége, a rendíthetetlen igazságérzete, az elnyomottak iránti szolidaritása, a szakmai kérdésekben képviselt következetessége évtizedeken keresztül mindannyiunk számára fontos iránymutatás volt. Nemcsak tudást adott, hanem hitet is. Hitet abban, hogy lehet jobb a világ.

Amikor a hazai szociális képzések fejlődésének meghatározó fordulópontjaira tekintünk vissza, aligha vitatható, hogy szakmai múltunk, jelenünk és jövőnk szempontjából a szociális munka elméletének és gyakorlatának, valamint az  azt közvetítő, továbbvivő és építő képzési programoknak kiemelkedő teljesítménye a hetvenes években kibontakozó, és a nyolcvanas évek második felében a hazai szociális képzések megújítása terén kiemelkedő szerepet játszó általános szociális munka koncepciója, amely az Ausztráliában szociális munka mesterszakot végzett Hegyesi Gábor hazatérésével és közvetítésével érkezett Magyarországra.
