    Nowadays sedentary lifestyle is at the forefront. In our spare time, both passive and active recreational trends and activities appear. The role of leisure sports is getting more and more appreciated among health-conscious consumers. Several studies proved that regular sports activities are projective factors against lifestyle-dependent diseases, so they are excellent means of prevention. Methods: Our study examined the leisure habits of Romanian and Hungarian residents, their activity in sport, their attitude towards active recreation activities, and their openness to new methods. The results were analyzed by using SPSS software. Results: The results underline that passive leisure activities (watching television, listening to music, reading, surfing the internet) are popular in people's lives, although most people live a sedentary lifestyle. People, who exercise in their free time have noticed a number of positive effects on themselves. 80-90% of respondents interested in new methods and would like to take part in sports events at work, at school, or at university.

    Nowadays the lifestyle of most people is characterised by improper food intake and by a sedentary lifestyle. Especially in childhood, great attention should be paid to this, because children’s habits can be formed at this age and for their development, it is very important to eat properly and healthy and to exercise regularly. During the research, elementary school children’s nutritional status was determined and their physical activity was measured using the PAQ-C (physical activity questionnaire) questionnaire. The partial results of the research show that among boys there is more overweight person, even so, they do more sports regularly and they are more active during breaks between classes. Among sports, football is dominant in the case of the boys and basketball is dominant in the case of the girls. The work presented partial results of the research carried out during the Vojvodina provincial project 142-451-2637/2019-01.

       It is a generally accepted fact that every child follows a different pace of development. The main protagonists of participation in physical education and physical activity are the children and the teacher. Active participation in physical education and physical activity can be a challenge for children with special educational needs (SEN), and adapted physical education and maintaining physical activity can be a challenge for teachers. The focus of the article is the physical activity of children with special needs and the methods that help them develop an active lifestyle. The study emphasizes the importance of adapting physical education and using individualized programs in order for all children to successfully participate in physical education activities. However, the topic is not new, and the author points to foreign and domestic research that examines the importance of regular physical activity for children with special needs. What is new, however, is that the article examines the topic from the child's perspective and focuses on solutions. The announcement highlights a permanent process to ensure that all children can successfully participate in physical education activities. The article discusses in detail the possibilities of adapting physical education and physical activity, which satisfy the unique needs of children with SEN, which affect the following topics: characteristics of children with SEN, the importance of physical activity, adapted physical education programs, treatment of problems in the psychomotor area, ensuring successful participation, as well as modification options and suggestions.
