  Absztrakt: Éppen 200 éve jelent meg Horvát István műve, a Rajzolatok, amelyben nem kevesebbet állít, mint hogy a világ első népe és nyelve a magyar volt. A maga korában ez a teória (a hun és szittya rokonsággal együtt) rendkívül népszerű volt, sokan tényként kezelték, hogy a Biblia nyelve eredetileg a magyar volt, s Kappanhágó, Istókhalma és Kard-hágó első lakói is mi voltunk. A reformkor, a nemzeti ébredés időszakában a „halzsíros atyafiakkal”, a szegénysorban élő finnugorokkal való nyelvrokonságot élesen elutasították. A magyar mint ősnyelv teóriának azóta is számtalan híve van. Többen azt is tudni vélik, hogy mi, magyarok a Szíriuszról származunk, és/vagy egy elsüllyedt földrész, Mu egykori lakóiként mi népesítettük be a Földet. – Írásom második részében egy nemrég Stockholmban megjelent könyv állításait vizsgálom. A kötet szerzőinek és szerkesztőjének meggyőződése, hogy Észak- és Dél-Amerika őslakói a magyarok voltak…

  Abstract: It was exactly 200 years ago that István Horvát published his book claiming that Hungarian was the first language and Hungarians were the first people in the world. In that age, this theory, as well as the relatedness to the Huns and Scythians, was very popular; many people believed that the original language of the Bible was Hungarian, and places such as Copenhagen, Stockholm and Carthage were established by Hungarians. In the Age of Reforms and that of rising nationalism the Finno-Ugric relationship was generally rejected as something derogatory. The theory of Hungarian as the proto-language has had numerous supporters ever since. Some people even believe that we Hungarians come from the Sirius, and/or we populated the Earth as the original inhabitants of a one-time continent called Mu. – In the second half of my study I review the statements recently published in a book in Stockholm. The authors and the editor of the book are convinced that the original inhabitants of North and South America were the Hungarians…
