New occurences and spread of the adventive species, Torilis nodosa in Hungary
26-31Views:655Torilis nodosa (L.) Gaertn. is an Atlantic-Mediterranean weed species. Its old data are known from Budapest, but these may have been occasional occurrences, the species has not been confirmed in Hungary for more than a hundred years. In the last few years, we have found six new occurrences of the species in Hungary, one population in Budapest, and another five in some settlements on the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The species was observed in ruderal or intensely mowed urban habitats, in all cases. Intensive tourism has a role in its introduction for sure, but for the survival of self-sustaining stands and in its already perceptible regional spreading, the climate change trends, the increasingly mild winters, and the decreasing number of frost days could also be important. New data from Hungary are well connected to its other Central European observations.

Monitoring of the Apium repens population near Császártöltés (2006–2015)
1–8Views:162Detailed botanical surveys were carried out to monitor the population size of Apium repens in the Vörös-mocsár nature protection area (located in S Hungary, Császártöltés). We found a clear correlation between the water status and the land use type and management of the habitats and the size of the Apium repens population. Apium repens is a Nanocyperion-species, which simultaneously requires wet and open surfaces. Its population shrinks, becomes latent or disappears if its habitat dries out or any other radical transformation happens, like too much leaf litter, closure of the vegetation, or succession on the open peat surfaces. Proper management (water retention, extensive grazing, mowing, open peat surface) has a very positive effect on the populations in a short time, even within a growing season. The research was implemented within the framework of the National Biodiversity Monitoring System, in cooperation with the Kiskunság National Park Directorate.

In memoriam Gábor Fekete [In Hungarian]
227-271Views:1562016. november 29-én véget ért egy kutatásban, állandó alkotásban eltelt hosszú élet, eltávozott közülünk Fekete Gábor Tanár Úr. Mi, akik olyan szerencsések vagyunk, hogy csodálatos egyéniségét közelről ismerhettük, most összegyűlünk, hogy tanúságot tegyünk Róla, akitől, és aki által olyan sokat kaphattunk.
Az alábbi megemlékezéseket egykori pályatársak, barátok, közeli és távolabbi tanítványok fogalmazták meg azzal a szándékkal, hogy önmaguk, a közösség és a jövő számára megörökítsék Fekete Gábor Tanár Úr emberi és kutatói nagyságát. Be kell valljuk, magunk is meglepődtünk, hogy felkérésünkre milyen nagyszámú írás érkezett. Számunkra ez önmagában is arra utal, hogy Tanár Úr egyéniségének varázslatos és egyedi volta nem kizárólag a tanítványokat ragadta meg, hanem mindenkit, akivel együtt dolgozott, aki közelebbről megismerhette.
Arra kérjük mindazokat, akik ismerték, szerették és tisztelték Őt, hogy olvassák el az alábbi írásokat, hogy közösen emlékezhessünk Tanár Úrra. Azoknak, akik már nem találkozhattak vele, ezekkel a megemlékezésekkel szeretnénk üzenni, hogy élt Magyarországon egy nagyszerű, csodálatos ember, aki amellett, hogy vegetációkutatók nemzedékeit nevelte fel, értékvesztett és relativizáló korunkban is biztos mértéket, erkölcsi és emberi támpontot tudott nyújtani, és ily módon több generáció példaképe, vezető és tanító személyisége lett.
