Renáta Zsámba, Assistant Lecturer, Eszterházy Károly University, Eger, does research in British detective fiction of the Golden Age and studies American feminist crime fiction and Hungarian socialist crime fiction. She has published “Szocialista krimi kapitalista díszletekkel: Linda és a nyolcvanas évek” [Transforming the American hard-boiled hero: Linda, the tough female sleuth in socialist Hungary], Korunk (2013), “Evil Rides on the Bus: Space and Female Identities in Margery Allingham’s and Josephine Tey’s Crime Fiction,” Eger Journal of English Studies (2013), and “Haunted in the Suburbs: Forms of Representing Evil in Dorothy L. Sayers’ The Documents in the Case,” Space, Gender and the Gaze (2016). She also contributed the entry on Margery Allingham’s Campion in Sleuths, Private Eyes, and Policemen: An International Compendium of the 100 Greatest Literary Detectives (2017). She is a Ph.D. candidate, writing her dissertation about memory crisis and the British middle class in the works of Margery Allingham, Dorothy L. Sayers, and Josephine Tey.
