  • MAXIMIZING JUMP PERFORMANCE: THE ROLE OF PLYOMETRICS IN YOUTH FOOTBALL TRAINING
    Megtekintések száma:
    466

Vertical jump training is a fundamental method for the physical conditioning of athletes. The synergy of motor skills exhibited during such movements substantially contributes to achieving motor acts and actions with higher performance indices. In football, vertical jumping, like other specific factors, is an essential element that can determine the outcome of a match. Football players need to be physically prepared to handle any complex situations that may arise during a game.

Our study aims to evaluate the impact of plyometric training on vertical jump height performance in young football players.

A total of 16 subjects, U11 football players, were randomly assigned equally into a PL group (N=8), which followed a plyometric training routine for 6 weeks, and a control group (N=8), which followed the routines set by the club team's coach. They were evaluated in two phases – an initial and a final phase – using Optojump testing equipment. The results obtained were compared using statistical and mathematical methods of descriptive analysis, the Shapiro-Wilk test for normality distribution, and the Independent Samples T-test.

Additionally, Levene's test was used to analyze the type of variances in the distributions.

Our study confirmed that a customized plyometric training routine can significantly improve vertical jump performance, considering age-specific characteristics.

Our investigations suggest that integrating this type of training into the subjects' routines can bring significant benefits to the development of motor skills, specifically to young football players, offering exciting perspectives for optimizing their performance in the long term.

Objective: Our study aimed to compare the dynamic leg strength, acceleration, running speed, agility, and ball-handling skills of young football players.

Material and method: Forty-two players members of the Szeged-Csanád Grosics Academy participated in the so-called "Multisport Activity Program" (SG) (nsg=42), whereas the control group (CG) involved players from the academy's partner clubs (ncg=109). Our testing procedure included: standing long jump, 10 m, and 30 m run, COD 505, and T-Test with ball dribbling.

Results: We found that the dynamic leg power of the SG players was significantly improved. The means of the T-tests demonstrated (p<0.001) improved ball dribbling skills in the SG group. We found no significant difference in the COD 505 test results. The results of the standing long jump, 10 m, 30 m, COD 505, and ball control tests are strongly correlated; however, none explain the minor COD difference.

Conclusion: It is beneficial for players to participate in multisport sessions involving various agility and ball control tasks. The COD 505 test results demonstrated smaller differences between dominant and non-dominant sides in SG participants. We suggest they are less likely to develop unilateral movement patterns that lead to overtraining injuries. The results indicate that implementing a "Multisport activity program" benefits youth athlete.

Games are one of the most effective educational methods. Thanks to the game and the competitive situation, we can avoid monotonous work and motivate the child. In our research, we were interested in how the players’ performance changes due to the competitive situation. We hypothesized that speed and agility would be more effective if the competitive method were used. U-16 football players took part in the study. Our results showed that in both cases, speed and agility improved when we used the playful method. In this case, the playful method was to create a competitive situation. When measuring speed, 81% of players achieved better results when we created a competitive situation. When testing agility, 75% of the players performed better with the player method.

  • THE EXAMINATION OF EXPLOSIVE LEG STRENGTH IN VOLLEYBALL
    Megtekintések száma:
    281

The goal of the volleyball game is for players to get the ball over the net to the opposite side, which they do by jumping up to score. The effectiveness of the jumps is mainly a function of the leg's acceleration. This ability also appears in executing tasks following a deep center of gravity defense. Our study primarily aims to collect tests to measure the rapid strength of legs and predict expected performance. Furthermore, we evaluate the reliability of the tests by reviewing studies analyzing the vertical jump of volleyball players. We grouped the tests into two main categories. We have processed laboratory tests (e.g., force plate, contact mat) and their associated motion analysis software and court tests (e.g., standing long jump, wall touch method). Combining the two groups of tests is essential to obtain relevant results.

  • CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER’S TEACHING STYLE AND THE PERCEPTIBLE MOTIVATIONAL LEVEL OF THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
    Megtekintések száma:

The goals of physical education teaching today go beyond achieving psychomotor activity in the classroom. The most crucial objective of the subject is to develop the child's need for physical activity both in the classroom and outside the school environment. To achieve this, physical activity motivation must become intrinsic, which physical education teachers can help achieve by using teaching styles and methods that promote autonomy and ensure that each pupil has the opportunity to develop.

In our research, based on the answers to the questionnaire validated by the Hungarian Student Sports Federation, we selected physical education teachers with a predominantly student-centered or predominantly teacher-centered teaching style. We asked a sample of physical education teachers about their attitudes and sporting habits toward physical education lessons using a PMCSQ-2 questionnaire. The results confirmed the motivational effects of student-centered teaching styles.

This study investigates the sports preferences and participation levels among young residents of Soroksár, a district on the outskirts of Budapest, Hungary. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, data was collected through a questionnaire survey conducted in autumn 2023. Statistical analysis was performed to assess the significance of factors influencing sports participation. The results indicate that local infrastructure and accessibility significantly impact sports engagement among youth, with preferences leaning towards sports readily available in the community. Notably, early initiation of sports participation positively correlated with academic achievement, emphasizing the importance of holistic development through sports. The findings underscore the need for comprehensive infrastructural development to support mass sports participation and promote healthy lifestyles. Local policymakers are urged to prioritize investments in sports facilities and opportunities, recognizing the multifaceted benefits of sustained sports engagement beyond elite-level support. This study provides insights into sports participation in Soroksár and calls for further research to inform evidence-based interventions promoting physical activity and intellectual development among youth.

A sporteseményekhez kötődő turizmus nagymértékű fejlődést mutató területe a sportturizmusnak (DREYER, 2002; WEED, 2006; BÁNHIDI, 2015; BORBÉLY-MÜLLER, 2015; LAFLIN, 2018). A rendezvények számának emelkedése mellett a sporteseményekre kilátogató hazai és külföldi nézők száma is jelentősen növekedik (LAFLIN 2018, LACZKÓ-STOCKER, 2020). A karate sportág történetében Magyarország először rendezhetett Világbajnokságot. A hazai kitöltők 78,7 %-a 0-50 km közötti távolságról érkezett a versenyt megtekinteni. A hat napon át tartó Világbajnokságra érkező hazai nézők átlagosan 2,76 versenynapot tekintettek meg, míg a külföldi szurkolók átlagosan 4,42 éjszakát töltöttek el hazánkban a verseny vonatkozásában. A kutatásban részt vevő hazai szurkolók összes költése átlagosan 43.075,26 (std. 79.494.23) Ft, míg a külföldi nézőké 471.741 Ft (std. 911.321 Ft) volt a versenyhez kapcsolódóan. A sportesemény hozzájárulása a bruttó hazai termék (GDP) alakulásához 1.546.859.464 Ft.
