Author Guidelines

Requirements for studies planned to be published in the online journal Debreceni Jogi Műhely [Debrecen Legal Workshop]:

The study must be uploaded after the registration on the University of Debrecen's publication platform on the following page: https://ojs.lib.unideb.hu/.

Due to the anonymous evaluation, we request the uploaded study not to contain any personal data. The authorship metadata can be indicated independently when uploading.

It is essential to indicate the affiliation of the author in the official Hungarian and English form used by the university/institution. Several institutions can be listed for one author in the order in which the institutions contributed to the creation of the publication.

We publish studies, conference reports and reviews in Hungarian, English or German, dealing with any areas of jurisprudence. Please have the studies written in a foreign language checked by a native language proofreader or a legal language teacher.

Studies must include a 0.5-1 page abstract and 4-5 keywords in Hungarian, English and German.

For studies submitted by students, a recommendation from an academic supervisor is also required for acceptance.

The maximum length of studies may exceed 2 author sheets (80,000 characters without the spaces between words) only in exceptional cases.

Please edit the manuscript as follows:

Please write the text in Times New Roman font size 12, single line spacing, normal (2.5 cm) margins, without using headings.

Please mark the chapter titles with Arabic numbers and bold letters, and the titles and sub-titles with italics. The depth of the division should be no more than "chapter-title-subtitle", please indicate all with Arabic numbers (1., 1.1., 1.1.1.).

The introductory provisions shall not have a chapter title (and, accordingly, no numbering).

Studies should be referenced in the Harvard style, with in-text references. In the case of both literal and substantive citations, the in-text reference must also include the specific page number of the literature.

The DOI link must be indicated in the bibliography, if the referenced literature has a DOI identifier. The following page will help you with this: https://doi.crossref.org/simpleTextQuery, which can be used after free registration. The entire bibliography can be copied and searched at the same time, and the obtained result shows the DOI link for each item, if it has a DOI identifier.

Authors are recommended to apply for ORCID. ORCID (Open Research and Contributor Identifier) is an internationally generally accepted author identification code (e.g. 0000-0002-9139-8370), that ensures clear identification of the researcher. It can be used to avoid mixing up the work of authors with the same common name, problems arising from the use of different forms of names or name changes, and facilitates automatic data processing in indexing databases. Applying for ORCID is free for authors and takes only a few minutes: https://orcid.org/register
