Information For Readers

The periodical has been peer-reviewed since it was founded by Endre Iglói, Ferenc Papp, and Béla Sulán, Professors of Slavic Studies at the University of Debrecen, in 1961. In the first two decades literature and linguistics accounted for most of its content, which was, however, soon complemented with articles on history and ethnography. The only requirement set to the contributors was that the studies should be submitted in a foreign language. These basic principles were maintained by the subsequent editors, Professors István D. Molnár and Zoltán Hajnády as well. Since its establishment, the periodical had published studies in nearly all the Slavic languages as well as in German, French, and English. The contents of the first 30 volumes of Slavica was published in an appendix to volume 30 in 2000. The digital version of the issues published in printed format between 1961 and 2018 is also accesible at https://dea.lib.unideb.hu/dea/handle/2437/238461/browse?type=title in the Archive of the University of Debrecen.
