Open Access Policy, Copyright, and Archiving

All articles published in East Central Europe: Between the Baltic and the Adriatic are fully open access and immediately available for reading, downloading, and sharing without restriction. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication. Simultaneously, the work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). This license permits non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

All users are granted a free, irrevocable, worldwide, and perpetual right to access, copy, use, distribute, transmit, and publicly display the work. Users may also create derivative works and make a limited number of printed copies for personal use. Commercial use of the material is strictly prohibited.

A complete version of each article, in a standard electronic format, is deposited immediately upon publication in at least one online repository supported by an academic or scholarly institution. These repositories ensure open access, unrestricted distribution, interoperability, and long-term preservation of the scholarly record.

The journal does not impose any submission or publication fees on authors.

Data Privacy Policy

The collection of data from registered and non-registered users of this journal is strictly limited to purposes essential for the proper functioning of a peer-reviewed academic journal. Such data facilitate communication during the editorial process, provide transparency regarding authorship and editorial activities, and enable the collection of aggregated data on readership patterns and scholarly communication trends.

The journal’s editorial team uses this information to support the publication process and to enhance the journal’s operations. Anonymized and aggregated data may also be shared with the platform developer, Public Knowledge Project (PKP), solely for the purpose of platform development and improvement. Individual data will not be sold or used for purposes beyond those explicitly stated.

The journal complies with recognized data privacy standards, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Users are entitled to exercise their data subject rights under GDPR, which include:
